I used to love Amigos. I WAS a regular. But then the atmosphere started changing for the worse shortly after the manager left. I stopped going in there so much after that. Yesterday, I went back there for the first time in probably 6 months. The food was usual, nothing special. The service was absolutely HORRIBLE. From start to finish, it was just BAD. Not to mention the ladies bathroom was a disaster- as usual. The bathrooms have always been just gross! And they have major sewage problems too. I can honestly say that after the way I was treated yesterday, I will definitely NOT come back to Amigo Mexican Restaurant in Hixson,TN. And I may not even go to any Amigos period. There are other Mexican places in town to choose from. WORST SERVICE!!

Imagine this: you walk in to the restaurant and are greeted with smiles and hospitality. You are ushered to your seat and brought nachos and salsa. Heres where Amigos in Hixson stands out. I usually have the same server, his name is Christian. Where most servers can be seen as working for their tip, Christian is a 100% genuinely caring person. He knows my fiance and me by heart and always has our order out in less than 5 mins. He is also extremely friendly to everyone he talks to. He single handedly makes Amigos in Hixson my favorite place to eat. The food is always hot and exactly what is advertised. If I could give this restaurant more than 5 stars I would.

The atmosphere was not comfortable its felt like they were in a hurry trying to build the place and almost felt like a shack. Our food arrived COLD and the plates looks like it need to be rewashed and I was very uncomfortable and just wanted to walk out. It must be just the one in Hixson, TN but I do not wish to try the other location. Food is cheap...menu has pictures so you know what your eating which I find funny and as far as TASTE.....between 1-10 I give a 2. Id probably go to Feista Grill or Abuelos. If you like cheap food then by all means enjoy. If the plate was not cold and presentable then Id go back. But never again.

My wife and I ate dinner last night during happy hour around 8:30 p.m. comma I asked the waitress if it was still happy hour and she said we still had 20 minutes, I ordered a Michelob Light in the bottle and ordered my wife a mixed drink, we never got our second drinks and I noticed on the bill that we were charged full price when I asked the waitress about it they told me that those drinks did not apply to happy hour... What kind of b******* is that? I have drank there during happy hour before and my beers were always two for one during happy hour, so I was lied to

This was our first time at an Amigos . The staff was quick and very nice. The chips and queso came out faster than we thought and it was delicious. Our main meals were satisfying. We have heard good reviews and were glad to have made a decision to eat at Amigos. Coming to dinner on a Friday night wasnt as awful as we imagined as well. It was busy since it was peak hours but it wasnt loud or roudy like some places we have ate. Overall it was great.

The bar side of amigos is great. jukebox or karaoke with dave or just the sound of clinking mugs is always a great time. I think some of the reviews are a little harsh. Ive eaten most of the menu items and imho its definately got a lil room for improvement but its all good. plus the bar staff is great! the bottom line is drinks, drinks, drinks! could use a bigger beer selection.

I dont know what the deal is with the other reviewers... I love Amigos, and Ive never met anyone in town who doesnt. Their salsa is awesome, the servers are usually fine, and the food comes out really fast. Oh, and it is very inexpensive. Seriously...I dont get why this doesnt have a bunch of 4 and 5 star ratings. Id ignore the negative reviews.

1st time here. Quick and very friendly service. The portions were average and rather expensive. My food was kind of bland so I am glad I ordered a spicy dish or it would not have had any taste....especially the rice. I forced myself to eat what I did and I didnt want my leftovers. I wont return but glad I tried it.

My and my boyfriend go to this place at least once a week, they are quick about getting your food out, they always have it hot and tasty, and its very inexpensive. The food is your typical tex-mex type mexican food, but everything I have gotten off the menu has been amazing, I highly recommend it if you are in town :)

Had the worst server I have ever had in my entire life. No cleanliness or hurry, took over 7 minutes to get water. Our server blatantly lied to is multiple times and got an attitude when I didnt pay right away as my friends were finishing their drinks. 1/5 I will never be going back.

I had the worst meal in years here. The salsa was canned. The food came out super quick because it was definitely not fresh. I cut into my quesadilla to find a pool of grease. I forced down a portion of my meal and regret it.

Not the best service. 2nd time we got the same waiter and 2nd time we have waited 20 minutes to check out. Drinks not refilled. I am writing this review as we wait to get our change. Seriously the service has gone downhill.

They were fast and friendly and didnt mind making changes to my meal. They offer a couple low carb meals for those who have to watch their carb intake. This will become one of my favorite stops when were in town.

Fast and friendly service. Good (free) chips and salsa. Love the queso dip. Order a la carte and leave with a full stomach and wallet. If I order a combo plate I always over eat. Good stuff.

I love this place! The food is consistently delicious and the service is always fabulous! You get in quickly and they have trivia night on Fridays in the bar! Cheap beer, too! You cant beat it!
