If I could have given this place no stars, I would have. This place is awful and a sorry excuse for the same branch of "Amigos" I grew up going to. Ive been twice and both times the service was HORRIBLE! AWFUL. I wish I knew more words to describe how incredibly bad the service is. The first time I went I was with my brother, food was OK but like I said, service was awful. Never even saw our waiter after he took our order and brought our drinks. The boy from the kitchen brought our food out to us. The second time I went I was with my mother. We walked in and I was IMMEDIATELY reminded why I didnt want to return. Some dingy girl walked up and said "Do yall need a table?". I didnt know whether to tell her that no, we indeed came here to dine off the floor or to ask if she even worked there because she was in short booty shorts and a tan v cut shirt with her hair everywhere and a rhinoceros piercing coming out of her nostrils. I told her that yes, we did need somewhere to sit so we could order. Once we got to our table the waitress seemed nice enough, but then I realized that she, too was just a kid like the rest of them, and delivered horrible service. She brought our drinks and that was the last we saw of her until she came back asking if we were ready for a check. Which is unfortunate because I didnt even eat my meal. I got 3 hard shelled shredded chicken tacos. When my food was delivered there was cheese covering everything and my tacos were already soggy. They also had one chunk of chicken in each one. Dont worry though it was surrounded in lettuce and cheese. My mom enjoyed her enchilada once they figured out she only wanted one instead of 2. Anyways, I visited this place twice. The second time with hopes that it would be better and it wasnt. Whoever owns this place should be ashamed and seriously needs to re-evaluate your restaurant. You make good money because of your location and because there isnt another restaurant for miles, so dont think that its because youre some outstanding business. On a side note: all I ever saw your servers do was stand around at the front behind the counter and around the hostess, doing nothing but shooting the sh**. Come on now.
Walked in for the 1st time (and the last) we were told it was a 45 minute wait so I asked if there was a place to get a drink while we wait. We had been working outside all day and really wanted a glass of tea. We were directed to the bar. When we went in there were several tables with no chairs and 1 booth open so we sat down at the booth. About 3 minutes later the hostess (and I use that term loosely) came over and very rudely said "You cant sit here,I didnt seat you here. Youre going to have to move." So we got up managed to scrounge up 4 chairs to use one of the mty/chairless tables. No sooner did we seat there and here comes the "Chair Mayor" as I referred to in the end telling us we couldnt sit there either. So about this time some space at the bar opened up so we took our chairs and sat at the bar, ordered our drinks and waited for a table. Finally about 5 minutes after we got our drinks the pager goes off. The "Chair Mayor" now sets us AT THE SAME TABLE WE SAT AT ORIGINALLY!!! Then to put icing on the cake our waiter who said he didnt need to write down our orders screwed up 3 of the 4 orders, (My wife ordered cheese enchiladas with onions, she got 2 cheese enchiladas and a cup of raw onions on the side.) Anyway bottom line is we will never darken the doorway of that place again. The service sucked and its a poor excuse for Mexican food as well. BTW, tried to call the manager but the 1st number I found was out of service and the next one was somebodys cell phone.
So my husband and I and 5 friends went to this location on Saturday night to have dinner . First thing the hostess was rude and very unpleasant, she wanted to seat us beside a table with alot of screaming children at it. We are all parents and didnt want to sit by all the commotion when we didnt have children with us. The hostess said we had to sit there b/c the server wanted us. We didnt accept this table and with a roll of her eyes she seated us at another table. The server we had gotten was very nice and did a good job taking care of us , until he spilled half of a drink in my friends purse. No apologies. Then when we get our checks we are all charged 18% gratuity. Which he would have made more of a tip without automatically putting it on our check. I really dont see us frequently going back to an establishment that .
Nice atmosphere on the lake. Kids enjoy the food because its relatively bland as far as Mexican fare. Salsa is like Ketchup. If your looking for an inexpensive Mexican restaurant to eat chips and queso with your kids, or a nice environment to have a Margarita with friends... Give it a try. If youre looking for quality, fresh-tasting Mexican food... Look elsewhere.
Nice relaxing environment that being water front offers to the restaurant. The food is always hot delicious and if me and our family ever had an issue, the servers and management goes above and beyond to make us happy! Definitely recommend Amigos Mexican Restaurant on island Cove, Harrison bay.
Cant even order a drink when your waiting on a table. Its sad because she lives off tips. How hard can it be to pop 4 caps for a beer. She told us she was to busy with the tickets she had. Well you just cost yourself some business. Get a new bartender is what I say that can handle the job.
The avocados in the Abuelas Guaac were so old they had almost turned completely brown. There was also no lime juice or cilantro in it. Nothing but brown avocados and diced tomatos and onions. The rice and beans were fine but the steak fajitas did not have even a hint of seasoning
Philip Bonnington is the greatest server Ive ever had at amigos. Hes super kind and was always ready to help me out when I needed help with an order. Overall my experience was fantastic I will definitely be going back and asking for Philip.
Love being able to sit outside and watch the boat traffic. If you have eaten at any of the other locations you will be comfortable with the menu and food quality. We love going on a warm day and sitting out on the deck to eat lunch or dinner.
Every time I have gone to this Amigos, it has been clean with very fast service. This is my favorite location! Its a beautiful place and the service is okay. Ive been seeing a lot of nasty reviews! Never had a bad experience!
Great food love the atmosphere especially when we sit outside! This evening they had live music by a local Ted Lewis a local! Absolutely awesome entertainment! He is a must see to enjoy music. Thank you Amigos!
