This little restaurant is the hidden jewel of Nashville and Sumner County. They have the freshest, most delicious food in town. Their appetizers are wonderful – hummus, falafel and tabbouleh – the best anywhere. The grilled Eggplant and Cheese Pita and Tandoori Chicken Pita are out of this world. Don’t leave without trying their Rice Pudding with chopped pistachios and their delicious Red Tea – so healing. The chef is Syrian and is a third generation cheese and yogurt maker. Everything is made fresh daily including their pita bread. Many of their secret recipes are generations old. His wife Linda is a Hendersonville local. They make a great team. Everything is clean, fresh, and the food presentation is beautiful. It’s great for both vegetarians and meat eaters. You have to check out this Hendersonville hot spot – Cafe Rakka most definitely rocks!!

I wish I could tell you about the food, but I cant, because we never got that far. After calling ahead and verifying that we could sit on the patio, we pulled in. There was only one table occupied. There was no greeting; a young man silently shoved two menus in my wifes hands. We waited, and waited, and waited. No one came to greet us, or ask what we wanted to drink. Yet there two servers visible. My wife waved at one through the window. He ignored her. She walked to the door and stuck her head inside and called out. He didnt bother to look up. At this point we decided wed had enough rudeness for one evening, and left. There are dozens, even hundreds of places to eat in the Hendersonville area. Cafe Rakka isnt one of them.

this place is great!!!! we cant wait to go back for appetizer, we ordered a side size falafel. it was amazing. they were very well seasoned. for entree, my husband ordered the special, which was salmon in tomato based sauce. he was very pleased with it. I had chicken on the sajj and it was very delicious too! even though we were both super full, we ended up ordered some dessert. we have their pistachio baklava and the date cookie. the baklava was delicious. it wasnt annoyingly sweet like other baklava. it had the perfect sweetness to satisfy our sweet tooth. we were both very happy with our experience at Cafe Rakka. i still dream about the super yummy falafel. too bad we live almost 5 hours away. but, we will definitely be back.

If your looking for great service, than Cafe Rakka is not the place to dine. It is a very chaotic environment during their supper and lunch runs. Often, you will be sitting their with your food and nothing to eat it with. They need trainning classes for their wait staff. Their food is fairly good but not anywhere near what you pay for it. The chicken tikka masala is their best dish....but much better at Shalimars in Nashville. I would only recommend Cafe Rakka if you want bad service and want to pay way to much money for ok food. Rakka is living off a tv spot-dinners, dives...,once you actually eat at Cafe Rakka you will be able to judge for yourself....prices for his food are out the roof.

Fresh and healthy. Thats the best way to describe this food, but that doesnt even really do it justice. You can taste just how fresh the food is. The chef even has his own herb garden outside so when it says fresh herbs and spices he means that literally. Everything about this place is golden. Chef Rakka has been on Talk of the Town, Tennessee Mornings, and is going to be on The Food Network show with the guy with the spiky blonde hair. The only drawback is that the price could be a deterrent for people, but even then, it isnt that expensive. Its priced reasonably. This is the place to go to in Middle Tennessee. This guy is going to become incredibly famous. Its just a matter of time.

A trendy, hipster atmosphere, like a hostage shack from the Taken movies meets the Star Wars Cantina. Dont expect crisp, fresh pure water here, their water tastes like it came out of a dirty beet, or the sprayer from the produce section of grocery store. Our food hasnt arrived yet, I fear I shouldve went to Panera... again. Will review again post meal. Got the food, it was great! Very authentic! Pita bread was amazing! Medium spicy chicken Tika Marsala. Do yourself a favor and side out your salad for extra rice. The meal is kinda a lot of food so if youre normal you can just share with a someone else who is normal

Im honestly not sure how this restaurant has made it on DDD, but for middle eastern food, it is by far THE WORST middle eastern restaurant in the country. Im not sure if it was because I went there having high expectations, but the food did not taste good at all. There were things that we couldnt have more than one bite of like the Taboulah. Besides that, the menu items are very limited and I would consider the restaurant pricey for what it is.

This is hands down the best restaurant in Hendersonville and maybe even all of Nashville. Our family has been coming here since it opened and we have never been disappointed. Chef Rakka is not only am amazing chef, he is an amazing person and always there with a smile. We have taken lots of family and friends and they have all raved about it. Do yourself a favor and give your taste buds a treat by going to Cafe Rakka !!

They have the best vegetarian platter of middle eastern delicacies I have found in the Nashville area. The gentleman who owns the restaurant is also the chef. It is my favorite restaurant in Nashville. Fresh, delicious and healthy. This is also the only place I have found that sometimes offers poached salmon. Dont forget to try the complementary cucumber water it is very refreshing.

Small place and could use some touch up paint, but the food is very good. The servers are friendly. We had sandwiches 2 sandwiches and 2 drinks (no sides) and it was a little over $20. We asked for one of the sandwiches to not be spicy, but it still had a little kick to it. We will visit again, but modify our orders.

Unfortunately this restaurant has gone the way of many restaurants. All new inexperienced staff, increased prices, smaller portions, and the food quality has gone way downhill. A chicken lunch entree for $19? It used to be our favorite restaurant and I dont think we will be going back after our most recent visit.

Generally good food and ingredients. As a middle eastern I can attest that some dishes are pretty authentic whereas others are not at all which is why I gave the restaurant three stars. That and the fact that their prices are pretty expensive in comparison to local competition in the Nashville metropolitan area.

I was highly impressed. Fresh and delicious food from Syrian-born owner Riyad Al-Kasem. Absolutely worth the 10-mile hop from Nashville to Hendersonville. My go to lunch item is the Lamb Burger. Portions are huge - enough to split, but that would leave you regretting not having more...

So if your looking for a place with over priced good food and rude service this is the place for you. I wont be back again I can google and make my own dish for half the price and not be ignored while waiting to be tip for the lack of service.
