Our dinner tonight may have been the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. I have eaten nearly every care in every city in a the US as well as many countries woeldwide. I have seen it all. One hour and 40 minutes to get served at our table tonight. The place was filthy and hot. I witnessed one white manager that was telling rudely at a younger Asian girl that worked there to seat us, for no reason other than to boss her around. The manager, after we spent $200, would not bring a bowl of ice cream out for my brothers birthday. She moved her hands around like she was using sign language to my mother while she was telling us there was nothing they could do for him. She said we were not specific enough. Really? Almost a 2 hour wait, a birthday and a big bill and not one little bowl of ice cream with a candle? At the very end of the evening, one manager came up to me and asked me how my beer was and if I could drive home (in front of my 9 year old daughter and 6 year old nephew). The kids were really upset about it. Do yourself a favor and go to 20+ other far superior establishments in this town that are cleaner, that run a more efficient business and are friendlier to their own staff and to their clients. I WILL NEVER RETURN!

I went here for the first and last time in Aug 1, 2011 with my family and it wasnt busy but we waited nearly half an hour just to get drinks, food took much longer and we were even at the grill! Heres my #1 problem with this place, I ordered calamari while everyone else got beef or chicken, about 2 hours after finishing my meal I was literally vomiting(and the other end) every 15 seconds unable to breathe. My supervisor didnt know what to do watching me belly over on the floor puking 100+ times in under 20 minutes. I had went straight to work after dinner and had ambulance take me to ER, they put IV in me on the spot and tried antinausea meds but nothing. I was choking on my own vomit and my stomach felt like a boxers punching bag, got out 6-8 words thruout the ordeal that lasted 6 hours. Never in my damn life have I been so sick cause of this vile place! Docs said I had acute bacterial gastroenteritis AKA food poisoning! Dont eat there and if you do, stay the heck away from the seafood, or meat for that matter, they obviously dont know how to store and/or cook meat/seafood.

Let me preface my review by saying Ive worked in the service industry. First of all the place is dirty and gross. For some reason we continued our meal there just to give it a chance. We were sitting in the dining area and had a perfect view of the service station. Our waitress used the drink glasses and dipped them in the ice station before filling up with soda. So everyones hands are in the ice that goes in your drinks. Also the straws were not wrapped or the silverware so the waiters hands are all over that too. Our salad was disgusting and the soup tasted like dirty water. When our meals finally came around we just paid our bill and left. I guarantee if we had eaten the meals and food we would of been sick. All these good reviews are coming from people at the hibachi tables who are unaware of what is really going on. After what we saw I dont know how this place stays open.

Have never had a bad food experience here, the food is most commonly top notch. The actual wait staff at times does come across as cold and distant, as crazy as it sounds I wonder if they could benefit from adding a little color to the uniforms or something- I dont think its that they are bad people, just an all black clothing theme puts off a cold aura. Anyways, the chefs are always friendly and love working with kids. Its a good birthday place so long as your child(ren) is not terrified of loud noises. The star lost on this case is the price- if you dont sit at a hibachi table, you pay the same price. Unless you are in a time crunch, you would get better value from watching the show at the hibachi table. You wont be disappointed in the food, but the price can leave you disappointed.

We ate here last night with a large party. The service was horrible; my wifes drink sat empty for about 15 minutes at one point. The food was bad; some of it was burnt and none of it tasted good. The chef only accomplished 1 of the 5 tricks he attempted. But all of this was the least of my concerns. They blatantly lie on their menu. It says that all entrees include two shrimp, along with soup and salad, for appetizers. They never gave us the shrimp. They never told us they werent going to. When we confronted the owner he refused to do anything about it. He basically told us, "Too bad. Go away." If you dont want to get ripped off, DONT EAT HERE.

Yummy Green Tea! If this is not enough food for you.. chances are you are eating WAY too much! They give you soup and salad and steamed or fried rice and veggies and chicken, beef, or shrimp however you want to order it. The Green Tea is AMAZING .. if your tummy is upset at all like mine often is due to IBS I find it very soothing. My fav is the Teriyaki Chicken and fried rice. The salad dressing here is the BEST I wish I could buy it for home and they have some great sushi too. To save dollars eat in the dining room and skip the show, we save the show for guests since weve seen it a few times so I dont really miss it.

my family went there last wekend and we had great service. the chef was so interacting and entertaining the servers were so nice and they seemed to know what they have to do for us and looked so happy. we got pleasure experience. there was a lady looked like the new owner, she offered some sushi plate which we never tried. it was so good. she said she and her husband took that restaurant over last December and both of them started working together from month ago.so they just got in Cleveland. i hope they can make that restaurant much better. because i love Japanse food, yumm.... but it was a little cold....

Our group of four ate in the dining room. We all enjoyed the food very much. The service was friendly and attentive. Since none of us was familiar with this cuisine, when we asked about how to eat it and about what everything was, they patiently explained it to us. They also showed us how to use chop sticks, although most of us opted for forks. Because of our interest in, what for us was a new cuisine, we were also given a sample of sushi. When we return to Cleveland, we will definitely return to Tako Yaki.
