Surf Diner 11 S Ocean Blvd, Surfside Beach, SC Arrived on Saturday 07/22/2017 around 7pm found parking right away inside the restaurant was a little busy but on the deck had a lot of seating and since it had been a very warm evening the breeze felt great we chose to sit on the deck celebrating my husband’s birthday we ordered our drinks and our food all at the same time drinks arrived except for 1 strawberry daiquiri we waited and waited finally I stood up and asked the busboy if he could advise the waitress that we did not get this drink after 20 or so minutes it was brought to the table and said it was on the house. Ok great, so now we are watching the ocean watching people around us get their food and still no food we are asking for refills on out water and tea and getting it from everyone walking around the deck area. I get up and ask what is going on with our food and we are told your food is coming we are busy. OK great we wait and wait now 30 min I proceed once again to get up and look for the manager who advises your ticket is next REALLY? We have 8 empty cups of water and tea 3 mixed drinks that was terrible no food we had to request that some of the glasses be removed because there was no more room for the glasses to fit and we have watched numerous of tables with people eat and leave who arrived at the same time and then after us get their food before us and our food is still coming with only 4 plates. What is going on we finally get our food and told the Birthday boy (Husband) dinner is on the house REALLY? We all only eat ½ of our food why it is OK we have eaten here before and it was better WHAT Happened? Terrible service and 1 free dinner because they cannot control their staff?? Food is just mediocre and they were not so busy that there was an excuse for this type of service. Surf Diner Management and or Owners need to FIRE whoever they have managing their restaurant if it is them then they get a big fat F- for Service all around. I would have walked out but because my Father in-law was treating his son to what he thought was a nice dinner we stayed for his sake total bill $88.10 and did not leave until almost 10 pm I wanted to pull my hair out!!! Worse service around in the area OK Food Poor Service! We should have stayed bought fish from Herrelson’s Seafood Market and had a better meal and experience! Thanks for Ripping us off Surf Diner Would not recommend you to anyone and would say go away spend your money somewhere else until their issues are corrected!

Stay Away! Do NOT eat at this restaurant! I have lived here in Myrtle Beach for 25 years and I own more than 30 businesses and many restaurants. As a restaurant owner, I feel this review must be shared as a WARNING!Visited this morning,a few minutes prior to opening, had a seat and waited to be greeted- the Greeting we got was" Sir, you need to leave- we dont open until 7:30 (it was 7:19am). We step aside and waited until 7:30, sat back down, No server, no greeting,went to find rude manager inside as I saw other people had been served (it is now 7:45 am) I ask why did nobody come to our table?? I told her that we had been sitting patiently waiting for a server and nobody came- she went to get a foul mouth, disrespectful woman who did not identify herself and said she is refusing service because we did not check in with the hostess and leave before she calls the police!!!?? So, with the price gauged food, the terrible view of beach dredging, rude staff and poorly managed restaurant- I implore you as a local or a tourist, spend your money elsewhere..

My advice is do not attempt to plan your event with this establishment. After months of planning and several telephone conversations, my wedding party was left hanging. Although I was told "we will accommodate you", when the time came we were not. Luckily an establishment across the street took us in and went above and beyond to accommodate us. We rushed through a cake a champagne toast, cleaned up the deck at the diner, and bolted. I dont know how good or bad their food is but I was truly disappointed in how they handled my situation especially after they were given at least three months to prepare and I made several telephone calls to discuss our arrangements. Our day was perfect despite their rude and inappropriate handling of our reception.

Our family of 6 ate here on a Friday evening in July 2016. The hostess told us it might be an hour before our food was served due to the busy crowd. However, they seated us within 5 minutes and we got our food about 30 minutes or less after we ordered. I thought this was reasonable given how busy they were. I got the Bacon American Burger and fries. They were really good; cooked to order and well seasoned. My wife and kids all liked their meals, too. Sharon, our server, provided friendly and efficient service. The prices werent bad. For all of us the total was about $50 pre-tip. We ate on the outdoor deck by the pier: really windy, but beautiful views of the beach. We plan to go back when were in town again.

Had breakfast here once while on vacation a week before Matthew went through. It was nice sitting out on the deck listening to the waves roll in while eating scrambled eggs, pancakes and sausage (I tried the grits but they just arent my thing). There were amusing signs saying not to feed the birds because "What goes up, WILL come down". The only negative (and it really was not any fault of the diner) were a couple patrons that decided it was okay to go and sit on the steps down to the beach and start smoking (no smoking allowed on their outdoor porch). That killed the atmosphere a bit, but the food was amazing.

So the food here is amazing!! (NOT the mimosas. Theyre gross) but everything else was fantastic. We had about 20 people in our party. (rehearsal brunch for brothers wedding) so of course it took a while for food, but nothing extreme. The reason for the 2 stars is because of the service. All of the wait staff are extremely rude!! Half of them looked like they crawled out of a crack house that morning. And every single one of them had a terrible attitude. God forbid you ask politely to have your drink refilled, its damn near an argument with these people. If you eat here hopefully you have better service than we did.

Have eaten here twice now and only wish I could take them home with me. Best burger I have had in YEARS. The pulled pork was AWSOME. The chip-beef gravy was the BEST. I was with a party of seventeen and not even ONE person wasnt totally blown away. The owner visited our table, introduced himself and answered our questions. I have been googling since the dawn of google and this is my FIRST review. If I had gone to this place sooner we would have ate there everyday. I will visit this beach again for the sole reason to sit down and try more of what this place offers.
