Oh my, where to start with this place. We vacationed in litchfield last week and jpeters was close to our condo. I thought it might be a place to catch a game and relax. I popped in for a minute to get a menu and see if they would have the fla state ole miss game on that night. The hostess had no clue so she referred me to the bartender. She had absolutely no idea either and actually shrugged her shoulders. I walked out sorta stunned at that. We all decided to eat there thursday night and watch the first nfl game. My guard was up to say the least. We got there at 6:30 and were seated in the dining room. The food was good, no problems there.. About 8pm we moved to the bar area to watch the game and eat some more. The game wasnt on so i asked the bartender to put it on. She said they couldnt get the game and thats why everyone had left the bar. I was shocked because the game was on nbc local. i told her it was on nbc and to try that. She didnt know that channel. Niether did a waitress or a cook. The waitress said she only watched netflix..I thought i was in the twilight zone.. I actually found the channel for her in 30 seconds and i dont even live there. By this time its about 8:15..settled in finally, i now ask for a menu to order my wings. She looked at with confusion again and says "the kitchen just closed".. I was just stunned at this place..a bar and grill that closed its kitchen at 8 pm and didnt have a clue how to get a fb game on tv..i cringe at the money lost there on a weekly basis..

Sad to give it only a 1 star. We have visited the restaurant twice previously and left happy and pleased. Upon this visit, the server was great. Sweet young lady helped us. When the steaks came out, there was blood on top of them. That is not a problem if you like it that way, ours were ordered med-well however. We asked them to cook them more and they did, but you can see straight into the kitchen where the cook was ranting on about they were fine. They brought them back out and still, COLD, DARK red center. They offered to cook us new steaks which we were not really interested in, but have previously had great food here. The manager came over to explain to us that the menu states that "Med-Well is a warm pick center". I told her that was exactly what we wanted. Did she think that was what my bloody, cold steak was? She agreed, NO. We all make mistakes. I can deal with the multiple mistakes as it sometimes just happens. What I did not appreciate was the attitude of the cook or the shift manager. She was belligerent, and did not even come back by to check on the last steaks. By the way, that one was just like the previous. I paid my bill, in full, tipped our waitress, but will not be back.

Myself and four friends went to J. Peters Grille and Bar in Litchfield, SC. on Easter Sunday, It was very busy. The staff had everything under control, seating a large group of 20 people, besides all the other tables that were taken. We all ordered Prime Rib dinner, which came with a very large salad, and honey croissant which was delicious. The Prime Rib was done to our specifications Medium, and the loaded mashed potatoes were to die for. The waitress was on her a game, and offered great service. Everything was delicious, I had banana pudding for desert, really didnt have much room after the dinner, but I forced myself to have a couple of spoons, the rest to be taken home...It was a giant portion and oh so good......the dinner was off the early bird menu, I defy anyone to find that kind of meal for the very low price of $12, there are also other options, such as fish, shrimp, chicken for a few dollars less....wonderful experience...will do it again soon, and thank you to the floor manager Colleen for overseeing everything......

We made a special trip from Myrtle Beach and brought a friend who was visiting from Virginia, because we had previously had an excellent prime rib dinner here. Unfortunately, the waitress informed us that the only prime rib available was medium, medium well or well done. Prior to ordering we confirmed with the waitress that Medium would have a pink center. We were disappointed when we got our prime rib ... all three were actually well done and were very dry. I wish the waitress would have come back after checking with the chef regarding the temperature of the prime rib that was available, and told us there was no medium, only well done. I remember from our previous visit that we had some wonderful croissants but none were offered with this meal . Are they not included with the early bird special? The salad and potatoes were of generous size and tasted delicious. Regarding the horsersdish "sauce", mayonaise was the dominant flavor. I feel a sour cream/horseradish sauce is a better mix.

I was always a big fan of prime ribs. When living in New York My favorite restaurant was the Old Homestead on 14th street and 9th avenue, where for about $45 they gave you a hunk of meat, , about 3-inches thick, on the bone, that was absolutely delicious. Now retired, and having moved to Pawleys Island, my pocket book, nor my stomach, can handle that size,. And then I found J Peters and their early bird special. A wonderful salad, followed by a good size slice of prime rib, both delicious and cooked to my liking (rare), coupled with a stuffed potato and all for $14 on their daily early bird specials made J Peters my favorite spot locally. They have wonderful lunches, and a full /lunch dinner menu, but I strongly suggest the early bird, served from 3-6 daily and a choice of prime ribs, cooked the way you like it, will make J Peters a frequent spot on your restaurant list.

Just got back from J Peters and had one of the best meals ever! The Prime Rib was cooked to perfection, salad to die for --ask for the house dressing!, and the loaded potato was over the top!. AND the crescents were heaven!! The food was A+++, then add in the superb waitress- Juliette who was working her tail off and yet as warm and friendly and made sure you were completely happy!!! High five to Juliette!!!!!!! We will be returning often! Thank you J Peters!!!!!.... and Juliette!

All of us enjoyed everything from the appetizer to entrees to desserts! Russell was amazing as a server....very attentive....answered all Qs, etc. Food was over the top......and great prices! Pretty cool little resturant. Our waitress, Alexis, was pleasant, attentive, kind, had a great sense of humor. She really made our dinner experience. The food was ok, I had the fried flounder dinner. The flounder batter wasnt bad but wasnt anything special. Prices were extremely reasonable. Seems like a golfer hangout if thats your thing. I would go back if I were in the area. Honey glazed croissants were delicious.
