9/2012~~Stopped at HHI on our way back from FL to PA. I first learned of the SD from the SC webcams a few years ago and always wanted to visit. First visit was 3 years ago in late Nov. The outside bar has heaters which was nice as it was a bit chilly. Just went for drinks after dinner at The Black Marlin. Beautiful view, waved at the webcam. Good service from bartender. Look for Chadwick the cat. He lives there and all the shop keepers take care of him. Hes grumpy but you can pet him. Hes a celebrity so doesnt like all the attention...lol. You do have to pay 5 bucks to get into the Sea Pines community. Would like to go to the SD in our boat sometime. Have a good time!

The ice cream base is homemade which is great because it is soy free. We had soy allergies in our family. We often make ice cream at home and this place tastes just like what we make which is awesome. It is a place we now know we can go while we are out and about and do not have to worry about allergies. The staff was very friendly. We had the mint chocolate chip with Oreo and the plan old chocolate ice cream. The chocolate ice cream had a pudding taste which was really nice. We will be back

Chose it for its high rating for ice cream. Unfortunately it was so incredibly crowded and lacked clear signs that we didnt bother staying. If you are looking for the most touristy of tourist destinations then this is the place for you. Its loud, outside, and feels chaotic. Our group opted to leave before we really even attempted to try to find the ice cream.

Great place to get some ice cream. Theres are rocking chairs to enjoy while eating, or its nice to walk along the boardwalk. Parking is difficult to find, so its best to bike there. The selection isnt going to be what youd find at a chain ice cream place, but they have a good variety.

Great frozen treats here and many options. The key lime pie ice cream is my favorite - very rich and flavorful. Their mango sorbet is refreshing on a hot day if youre looking for a lighter option. Every time Ive visited, the staff has been friendly as well.

This place has a cool outdoor beachy vibe to it. The wait staff is friendly but it sucks to pay 5 dollars to get into the sea pines place. We have been here twice in two years on vacation and would probably go back again when were back in Hilton Head.

The prices are a bit high, but so is everything here, if there is more than one of you, just buy some ice cream from a store, unless you havent had it before. The ice cream is good and creamy, and its made there! But, its filling! Good overall

Ice cream is good, though definitely expensive in comparison to the size of it. Atmosphere and location is great with proximity to the Salty Dog, and the respective harbor. Medium to long lines, though they move pretty quickly.
