I dont know how the food is, but I will never find out based on the conduct of the guy in the parking lot and the smug manager dennis. There is a guy in the parking lot with a roost shirt on (cant tell what it says from a distance) who approached our car with his hand in a bank bag. Based on how he was dressed, you wouldnt know he was an employee (other than the vague shirt) and has no business walking up on someones car, much less with his hand in a bank bag as he walks up on my wife and two-year old child from behind. BTW, he approached our car without introducing himself or saying a word, just with his hand in that bag. Not knowing who he was or what his intent was, I motioned for him to stop approaching us three times (we were out of the vehicle and my wifes back was turned to him as he was approaching), and instead of stopping or announcing who he was he simply kept coming. After the third time he finally pulled a card out of the bag and told us we werent allowed to park there. Again there is no way someone would know pulling off the street that the middle section was reserved parking (4-lane hwy, tight turn, wordy sign). Aside from that, the main issue is the way and manner in which he was approaching my wife and child from behind and without telling me his purpose or listening when I told him to stop three times. Apparently they make people park in the back and around the building of an empty lot if you arent going to the roost (visually, it looks like a community lot, except for a sign right next to the 4-lane hwy where you cant see it if you are pulling in with any traffic. Tried talking to the manager, and he was immediately argumentative, refused to listen, and told me that it it his parking lot and his guy has been there for 3 years (as if Im an ignorant idiot for not knowing). I have no problem with reserved parking (though better signage would have avoided the whole thing), but I have a serious problem with people that act shady with my family, then act self-righteous and indignant that I dont know who they are or what their routines are (especially when I told dennis we were visiting and didnt know and brought up the safety issue). He not only couldnt have cared less, but was insulting and arrogant.

If I could give less than one star I would. On Halloween we arrived at 8pm to get a good table, by 10 it was so packed the fire dept asked them to start clearing out people because they were over capacity. Long story short, they asked us to leave. We thought they were joking but they told us to leave immediately. The manager said our tab was zero just to get out so we were happy to oblige. Sounds great right? Wrong. The waitress tracked us down at another bar across the street and handed us our tab. We told her that the manager asked us to leave without paying and she said we had to pay or it would come out of her tips. To make things shady, she brought a bouncer or her boyfriend or someone to intimidate and the manager denied he ever asked us to leave. Honest to God truth.

We went in right before the bar closed for cigarettes only, since it was the only bar offering them, and we had the worst treatment from the bartenders, bouncers, and even basic patrons who were already in the bar, telling us to leave and that we had no business being there. They were rude and used unnecessary language and attitude. Just for a one time thing, and not being from Charleston, they gave us a REALLY bad impression as far as customer service, and I will never go there again.

The worst service I have ever experienced. The waitress said two words the entire time we were there. We sat for 20 minutes before she came to get out drink order and another 20 before she took our food order. My friend ordered a pesto chicken sandwich that came out with no pesto and hard as a brick. The bartender was the nicest guy there. Id save you money + head over to triangle. This place sucks.

Great bartenders. Not too taxing on your wallet. Lots of friendly people....but you do get some "crazier than normal" drunks there after midnight then you do other bars. Got literally attacked by some nutty drunk girl who thought I was somebody else or something.... :/ Honestly no idea if shes from here or just an insane tourist! Oh, and they get good live music in there too.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for catering to is and letting us watch Iowa vs UNI on the Big 10 Network when other games were going on! The Roost definitely accommodated us as the Big10 Network wasnt activated. Its tough being 1000 miles away from home and not being there to watch my little brother play, so putting it on the TV means the world! -Melissa Anderson

Dont be a douchebag and you can stay. B and his crew pump out delicious bar fare while you root for your team, as theyll cater to your sports fiending needs. (Go CUBS!) But brunch...Oh! Brunch...have the shrimp and grits. I know this is a HUGE statement in Charleston, but Brandons is the best in town. Live music on most nights. Good times. Getcha some.

Some of the best of west ashley. Nate is awesome at the bar. As is everyone else. Excellent attention to customers even in a rush. Its consistent ever time I arrive. Its comforting to know you will always receive the best service each time you arrive. The menu is delicious as well. Overly well rounded, tell you friends and family.

the perfect place to watch the game ... out door patio as well as multiple HD TVs in every direction inside ... our cocktail waitress was friendly and gave quick service where I barely could get a drink or a responce from the bar tender. Will be there every chance during the NFL season!

Cool atmosphere and a great burger. Only complaint was that our food took a really long time to get to us. Also, we saw the transition from restaurant to bar on a Friday night. Definitely try and get there by 6 or so if you dont want that (just got louder, darker, and drunker).

Awesome place! We went on Monday night for $6 burgers and trivia. The burgers are incredible and sides are great. Also a nice beer selection. Friendly service!

Great burgers here. Parking is a little cramped. Once you find a spot it is well worth the walk for a fresh burger. The palmetto is where its at.
