Got a few take outs from here via work because they refused to order food from any other Asian restaurants. :( ...History for me is that I went there a long long time ago and the food was AWFUL. Mi Cah Thang is my favorite Cambodian dish, stir fried wide noodles with your choice of meat with vegs. I couldnt finish it then and brought it home, couldnt believe it... no one would eat it...it finally sat and went into the bin. So in one of my recent jobs, they would order catering from here... I guess they do invoices for corporate accounts or something. So my office would order for parties and etc. We had a chance to order what we wanted and because I didnt want to be so complicated, I order some spicy chicken wings. I was hoping itd be chicken wings fried with some jalapeno peppers... what is my favorite from another Cambodian restaurant close by called 4 Seasons, but it wasnt...it was chicken wings fried and topped with salsa! A true WTF moment for me when I opened the box it came in. I ate maybe 2 wings and couldnt bear the rest. Again, I took it home and no one would eat it. Mind you my dad eats anything! And especially wings... but this one, no one touched it and it went back in the bin! The third time, my coworkers again ordered and I figured what the heck let me try again. This time I tried a spicy ribs/pork with rice and it was actually pretty good! I was surprised! It had a lot of flavor and I was happy. Would I go there again? Probably not... will I order if my coworkers have another group order? Maybe...but Ive since left that job so it may be slim.

This restaurant is a gem!!!! The vast menu includes Cambodian, Thai and Vietnamese cuisine and has something for everyone. My boyfriend and I wanted to share a few things, so we tried the Nime Chow, which is a cold wrap with rice noodles, green leaf lettuce, and cold shrimp in a clear noodle wrap, served with cold peanut sauce. If you like cold food its delicious. The beef teriyaki was served with some pickled vegetables as a garnish. Delicious. The teriyaki itself was also incredible. We had the Thai Pad See Ew something-or-other (cant remember the full name of the dish), which was wide noodles with a pleasant sauce, with 2 different kinds of broccoli, carrots and onions. We chose shrimp for ours and it was simply delicious. The vegetables were cooked perfectly, they were cooked but still crunchy. You can tell the ingredients are fresh and of high quality. The crab rangoon is hands down the best I have ever tasted. This little place was hopping busy with many people picking up takeout. The restaurant was about 2/3 full on a Sunday evening and we were seated immediately. The staff took great care of us, with one person taking our order, and then other people checking on us to be sure we had given our order to someone. The staff seem to take a group approach to make sure everyone is taken care of expediently and your food is served quickly. Great decor, great food, great service, and the prices are very inexpensive, especially considering the quality of the food! We will be going back many times to this gem!!!!

Ive been going here for almost 20 years (wow im old). This place has its ups and downs just like every where else. To get the best quality of food and service you should go when it first opens and before the lunch rush. Going during rush hour or the dinner rush is a bad idea. Avoid the weekend nights also. It is way too chaotic and loud which translates into slow orders and mistakes (something I have little patience for when Im tired and hungry). Also stick to what you know. While Apsaras has reasonable prices not everything on their menu is going to taste good so order what you know you like from other Asian restaurants. If you want to experiment save it for a buffet or see if your friend will allow you to sample from their plate. BTW--NEVER go out to eat with stingy and/or picky people. You wont have a good time and their negativity could adversely influence your opinion of the place. My fave order is nime chow, hot n sour soup or wonton soup w/green onions and beef teriyaki w/fried rice.

The first time I dined at this restaurant, I was lucky. The second time I came here, I was not so lucky... The most recent time I went to Apsara, I left a little unhappy. So the menu is big. Which pretty much means that the food you get is a hit or a miss. The only two things that I know are a safe bet here, which are also my favorites, are the Nime Chow (fresh spring rolls) and the Tom Yum soup. I think if I knew exactly what to order, I would be giving great reviews just like everyone else is. Im sure Apsara is a wonderful place, but only if you know what youre ordering. As for service, sometimes the service is great, and the other times I would have to wait 15-20 minutes to get the check. So if you decide to eat here, dont be like me and try to fill a food curiosity void.

My FAVORITE place to go to when Im in Providence. I have searched for a Cambodian restaurant and there were quite a few in Rhode Island and let me tell you, Ive tried them all. This one is by far the best. I have been to Cambodia, and this place tastes authentic. Pros: *I absolutely love that they give water and tea out for free. I wish all restaurants would do that! *Service is great. They are all very nice people. *Food is delicious! They have my Lort Cha that I love so much! Con: *Theyre located at a weird spot *I wish they did a remodeling. I know us Cambodians dont care too much about style, but it makes a bit of difference to put in some better furniture. To be honest, from the inside, it looks like a take out Chinese restaurant just with more tables.

Im giving Aspara 4 stars, simply because I have not yet had the pleasure of tasting more of the extensive menu. From the outside, its a humble establishment, but so are most great Asian places. The spring rolls, leek pancakes, and Peking ravioli were all excellent. I would avoid the lort in the future (fried wrappers of bean paste - little more than sauce delivery vehicles). Beef Udon = Amazing. Coconut Chicken Soup = Amazing. Spice it up with chili paste, or funk it up with some fish sauce = Even More Amazing. Any negative reviews are unfounded based on my experience.

The place looks terrible and is a converted house. I actuall saw a mouse running under the baseboard! To top it off, this time they charged my meal whatever price they wanted. I ordered a large soup, the cashier decided to charge me $10.12 for a large. They usually charged me $8.50 for the large. I tried to speak to the cashier and she does not want to heard it. She said like that is how we alway charge for a large. This will be the last time I go there. The food however is very good. Too bad the lousy customer service, dirty mouse and ugly building ruined it.
