Bullfinchs – Sudbury, Massachusetts Located in a quaint little town seemingly in the middle of nowhere or perhaps it was because of the direction from where I came. As you walk in, there is a certain warmth that emanates from the room. Nicely decorated linen clad tables, a nice long wooden bar on the left separated from the main dining room by a custom built wood and glass wall. Earthy tones thruout, rich woods and a red block floor. Overhead, holiday music plays softly. Almost like the scene of a Christmas movie. Two rolls… Nicely plated with a wedge of softened butter and seasoned olive oil served warm. Very nice... Soup of the day a Jerk Chicken soup thats almost like a soupy chili. With just A little zing, tomato, black bean, onion and garnished with sour cream and fried tortilla strips… yum! For my main this evening the pan-seared salmon over a sauté of beets, Spinach, roasted tomato and wild rice; finished with herb aioli. Trying to eat “light” I opted for the four once over the eight. This dish was a cross between cuisine and art. It tasted as well as it looked. Although the dessert offerings were both tantalizing and plentiful, I opted for just my signature cappuccino to be good. Well sculpted with just the right amount of foam and as an added treat, served with three small pieces of biscotti… This was a great dining experience from minute one… Convenience of online booking, promptly greeted and seated upon arrival and friendly and attentive service. Chris, my server, knew the menu and showed up at just the right times… I highly recommend you come here. Youll have a wonderful time.

First, this review is for my last visit for dinner at this location a couple years ago. Hopefully both the quality and service has improved since then. I had a couple of enjoyable brunches at this location prior to this bad experience, so thats why this review is 2 stars instead of one. This restaurant is more upscale in terms of pricing, ambiance and menu. However, I found the quality of food itself has been lacking, at least for dinner. The worse Filet Mignon dish Ive ever had was served to me here. The cut was ordered medium-well. Although there was some pink in the middle, the meat was so dry, it was uneatable. It was like chewing on leather. I had to spit out my first bite. When a complaint was made, the manager took a long time to arrive. When he finally did arrive, he seemed confused about what to do. The meat appeared to be technically cooked to the correct level, but the quality of the cut was very poor. The manager could not guarantee the replacement would not yield any better results. Based on this and the length of time it was taking dishes to arrive from the kitchen, I refused any replacement. This seemed to further confused the manager. I guess theyve have a loyal following that is willing to accept poor quality and slow kitchen service without complaint? Although the manager eventually offered to remove the item from the bill, the whole endeavor made for a very unenjoyable evening. I never returned.

My son wanted to go here for his birthday brunch. He thought wed enjoy the jazz quartet. Not so much, they were good but it was so loud we could hardly hear ourselves think, let alone talk to each other. But, this review is about the food. Everyone said their meal was just okey but mine, the Crab Cakes Benedict, were a disgrace. There were two crab cakes that were the size of silver dollars and about 1/8 high...that is not a typo. If there was any crab in them I didnt taste (or see) any. I would have sent it back but it took so long for us to get our meals that I didnt want to get mine when everyone was finished eating. The waitress was pleasant when she took our order but we never saw her again. We had to ask other servers to help us when we needed something. Needless to say, we wont be going back. If you are still deciding whether or not to go there, dont order the crab cakes. Im giving it only one star because others in our party said their meals were just okey.

Great service, awesome menu, friendly atmosphere. I called ahead to book a table for a Sunday Birthday brunch. When we arrived the table was waiting with a big balloon on it which was an awesome gesture for the Birthday event. After enjoying an awesome brunch, a freshly baked fruit tart with a candle was brought to our table to celebrate the Birthday. Great location for a Sunday morning jazz brunch and also the bar looked fabulous, we will go back to experience the bar. The staff were very courteous and friendly. Great management and well run establishment. Glad we found this gem. Thank you Bullfinchs team! 10/10

if great service is defined as over delivering, then bullfinchs wait staff have it nailed. when a colleague and i asked if they had blue cheese stuffed olives to augment our martinis we were told, "im sorry, no." then a few minutes later, our waitress showed up with blue cheese stuffed olives - "i asked the kitchen if they could make some for you." and not just the service was great. the steaks were very good as were the appetizers and desert. and they have a good wine list. an all around wonderful experience - well be back when were in the area.

Ive never heard a bad comment about Bulfinchs. Theres a one star review on here that disses the crab cakes and I have to speak up in opposition. (Perhaps she got smaller portion because in her review she says it was crab cakes benedict?) We got them as appetizer and they were BEST WEVE EVER HAD. And we frequently order and rank crab cakes when we go out. Also notable is the lovely outdoor seating which is somehow bug-free even at dusk. It is best to make a reservation...and bring cc with high limit because its good but pricey. Enjoy!

This is where my fiance and I have our "date nights." If you wish to share that you are celebrating something special, they can put a nice balloon at your table. The locals are friendly and will lean over to kindly ask what you are celebrating. The food is freshly made, enjoyable, and the menu provides recommended wine pairings. The owner is almost always there, and the servers are friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. I always get one of their wine flights. Also, Bullfinchs has cooking classes that book up quickly.

Very upscale in terms of menu, price, and ambiance. Food was average. During our meal, the waitress broke a glass nearby and glad went flying all over our table. Two people were done with their meal, but 2 of us were not. Our plates were whisked away and the check was brought to the table. When we mentioned that we werent done with our meal, we were told that it was thrown away because it had glass in it. No other rectification was given. Wont be going back.

Fabulous place for adults. My wife and I go to Bullfinchs regularly because we love the food and the feel of this place equally. The interior is dimly lit, cozy and inviting. My favorite is to sit at the bar and have dinner. The tuna is great, appetizers are innovative, and there are fresh daily specials. Nice people own the place, and the woman at the bar is the most gracious server and bar-friend youll find.
