section from providence. Having experienced numerous chinese, cambodian, thai, laos & vietnamese quisine i thought id give china inn a try to see how the food & customer service might be like @ first i started having lunch there @ least 3 times a month & then started having the food delivered although they were familiar with every single time i ordered delivery they almost always forgot something or add something i didnt order me & my fiance isnt sure or not if the problem lies that the order takers english that fluently good but i wasnt ignorant about it though. Unfortunate for me they told me &my girlfriend oh well!! When i explain for them to check their computer system. THE WHOLE IMPORTANT THING IS I ORDER THE EXACT SAME THING EACH & EVERYTIME. CHINA Inn I myself & fiance extremely disappointed they didnt even attempt to solve the problem!! They have a fancy upscale establishment and has a popular name & furthermore they are NEVER EXTREMELY BUSY OR HAVE A FULL HOUSE ON ANY GIVEN DAY!!! ( i wonder why??? Is it because they just give ordinary service just to get by i imagine they mostly get by deliveries & caterings how sad??!!! THEY WILL NEVER RECEIVE ANOTHER DOLLAR FROM ME. IF THEY COUNT ON EVERY PERSON THAT EATS THEIR A GOOD CUSTOMER THAN THEY JUST LOST ONE!!!!! &SINCE WORD OF MOUTH IS THE BEST FORM OF MARKETING THAN I WONT BE RECOMMENDING ANY ONE TO GO THERE!!!!! LITTLE DID THEY KNOW IM A POSITIVE & REPUTABLE AFRICAN AMERICAN SOCIAL FIGURE IN THE COMMUNITY!!!!!!!! WELL MAYBE NEXT TIME THEYLL REMEMBER THE #1 ONE GOLDEN RULE IN RESTURANT INDUSTRY THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT!!!!! & THIS WILL NEVER CHANGE UNLESS I DIDNT RECEIVE THE NOTICE!!!!!!!

The food is great....really great. Im not a huge meat eater, so Chinese food can often be boring with all the usual suspects..canned water chestnuts, zig-zag carrots, and soggy straw mushrooms. At China Inn, the Hunan Eggplant is to die for; melt-in-your mouth large slices of tender eegplant in a spicy sweet sauce. The appetizers are great....menu is great...ambiance is great. SERVICE IS TERRIBLE. Prepare to be ignored when you walk in the door. Want a drink at the bar? Prepare to wait until a bartender shows up. Last time I went I think I waited 15-20min after being seated until my waiter showed up with water. Usually it takes 2-3 requests to get tea. Often I flag down any waiter/ess in sight when I need something. Once, I watched my drink sit at the bar after the bartender made it, after reminding my waiter several times that I had ordered a drink. Finally, I just wandered over and grabbed it. Dinner usually takes 2.5-3 hours...no matter how busy it is Fine, if you arent starving or have other plans. Its a trade-off since the food is so good. Just be prepared.

To be honest, I did not expect much from the place. At the time, the restaurant was within walking distance from my loft and a quick bite of Chinese food sounded good. I was pleasantly surprised to find much more, and for a fair price, to boot! From the friendly staff and stylish atmosphere to the delicious food and wide drink selection, it instantly became one of my favorite Chinese eat-in spots in all of Rhode Island. Moreover, the carryout is just as good—I just wish they delivered! (Hint, hint, China Inn..?) Do yourself a favor and check out Pawtuckets best Chinese food. You wont be disappointed. Its a shining star in an otherwise vacuous downtown scene. Five Stars!

I guess they dont like money. First time I tried to order, I gave my complete order, only to be told that theyll only deliver over $20 (Mine was $13 and I was only 2 miles away). It should occur to them that some people are by themselves when they order take out as well, and cant always go pick it up, as is my case being stuck at work. Now I try to place a bigger order with my boyfriend, and they say that theyre just not delivering tonight. First she said it was a holiday, then because they dont have enough people. Wtf...

We have been going to the China Inn for years and have never had a bad meal- WAY better than your average Chinese take-out place. Granted, the atmosphere is somewhat drab, but we always manage to have a great time with the help of a few scorpion bowls! Weve always had wonderful service, excellent food (gotta try the scallion pancakes, steamed dumplings, and fried rice). I have never noticed dirt and even allow my toddler to explore the open space (because its usually dead). Best Chinese food in RI hands down.

My husband and I went to the China in tonight for dinner and ate in the restaurant. Every other time I have eaten there it has been takeout. I was completely surprised by how nice and clean it was inside. The food was unbelievable and the prices were unbeatable. We had 4 beers, an appetizer and 2 entrees and the bill came to $44! The Shanghai Dumplings were to die for! You should definitely check it out - you wont be disappointed!

Very bad service..... Apparently when you get a blue elastic band in your lo mein and you bring it to the waiters attention, his response of " I THINK THAT IS CLEAN. YOU CAN STILL EAT IT." After he sticks his fingers in your lo mein to pull out the elastic...is appropriate?!? Lunch on my coworkers. Happy bday.. To me!! Kerry Staniunas Jodie St Pierre Sammie Samantha.. Dali.. Karla.. I just called and I wanted to put an order for delivery. The lady on the phone picked up my call, said hello, and continued to have a conversation in the background, leaving me talking by myself. Then I told her I wanted to put an order in for delivery, and she said that they were too busy to do any deliveries and hung up on me.. Really?! That is NO WAY to do business. I wish I could give them 1/2 a star.

One of the worst waiter Staff I have encountered in a long time! My friends and I where early guests, no other people the waiter ignored us and we had to ask him 2x if we could have a drink.when he came over he ask what we would like to eat-not drink , he was standing very close and simply ignored us!!! When we finally received our food it took 10 minutes longer to get the rice! Food was so-so.

I have been going to the China Inn for years. Almost everyone I know has gone with me and loved it. The food is fantastic, the interior of the building is peaceful and beautiful and the ambiance is amazing. I love their hot and sour soup, steamed dumplings, beef with orange flavor, ants in the trees (or was it grass?)... Just thinking about it is making me hungry.

Best Chinese restaraunt ever. Try to go at least once a month. Food is excellent and service is unbelievable. Every waiter is very attentive always refreshing beverages as soon as their going low. Usually get a good laugh when I go with my friends. Prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get.

i came here to eat one day with my family and the service was terrible. Our waiter was extremely rude and was never around to satisfy our requests. the only upside was that the food was great. i would only recommend it if you went during the weekend on a busy night. they might be a bit nicer
