We were staying in Newport during a rainy weekend and looking for some take out. Very hard to find as location is dark outside and poor use of signs. Off the beaten path. First time there and hand written menu difficult to read. Ordered (2) burgers and back to our room we went to find order was incorrect. If one thing is quite annoying it would be to get back home and find an incorrect order at a tune of almost $30 for burgurs!!! Beware of the lettuce which turned out to be a mixture of 4 leaf clover and blades of grass. Not sure about their definition of lettuce as our grocery store carries something a bit different. The worse part of our experience would be the customer service when we called back to express our dissatisfaction. Management skills, terrible! The correct answer and solution to this problem would of been to offer a partial refund which we asked for or credit on next visit. The incorrect response that was given was questioning our motivation for calling as the order was completed correctly and mistakes dont happen. Quite a bit of establishments in the area and competition , better service is out there so good luck with that! This place gives a bad name to the small business, aka Mom & Pop Shops vs. the larger chains educated and trained with customer service!!!

I liked the description below of "hole in the wall", and though it might be a just a liitle bit classy for that description, it is not easy to see if you arent looking for it. Not cheap, not huge, just fantastic! I normally avoid fries, but the burgers are so good, I had to try them. Perfection! A perfect accompaniment to an aged cheddar cheeseburger with grilled jalapeños and an off-the-wall (literally and figuratively) beer. A short jaunt from the tourist section, and no visit to Newport is complete without a Mission burger experience!

“STELLAR BURGERS @ A HOLE IN THE WALL JOINT!” If youre looking for the BEST gourmet burger your taste buds will ever savor, dont miss this place! If youre looking for an upscale atmosphere & discount prices…pass it by. It may cost a bit more (fries are extra), but all their beef is ground fresh daily & on site. If youre an old fashioned TAB soda lover, theyve got it! Grab an extra handful of napkins & wear one as a bib! Messy, juicy, drippy pure beef patty of perfection awaits! You wont be disappointed!

I have eaten at Mission one zillion times. The French Fries are the best in the world. Done. I also love, love, love the burgers, dogs, and falafel. The portions are perfect, and Mission is the restaurant that convinced me of the need to order burgers just right: not too rare, not too well done. I also l-o-v-e the setting: casual, cool, communal. Plus, the owners are super-philanthropic and also support local artistic talent. Seriously, whats not to love?

At first I thought "How can any restaurant survive selling only burgers and hot dogs?" Couldnt have been more happy with the burger and fries I ordered. The burger was cooked to perfection, juicy and flavorful. I havent had a cheeseburger that good in a very long time! The fries were crispy on the outside and like mashed potatoes on the inside. The service was exceptional. I will definitely be back the next time Im in town.

The burgers are my favorite in Newport, and I love that they use local beef. Their fries used to be my all time favorite. I had dreams about their crispy goodness. The last time I went the fries were different. Theyre not bad, Im just super picky about my fries and they werent as crispy as I would have liked. The burger was still phenomenal. I also love that I can get craft beer in a can.

Amazing burgers. I had the Chicago dog and wasnt completely impressed, but its unique and genuine homemade meal. Their burgers are cooked medium and its the best way to have the full flavor. Theyre cooked perfectly and not a generic Sysco beef patty. Cool vibe place for chilling out. There was a mellienial business meeting happening when we visited there. Very casual.

Mission has the best burger in Newport, hands down. They have a simple menu of burgers, hot dogs, and fries. They have beer and soda by the can along with bottled water and thats it. The beer selection is mostly local craft offerings but also a few great imports, like Bitburger. If you love a good burger, you really cant go wrong with Mission.

Went here because of the hi review ratings. Hamburger was ordered medium and it came to me very undercooked. Would have sent it back but the place was so crowded it would have been an issue to fight my way back to the counter to have it corrected. My wife got the falafel and it just wasnt good. Just a bad experience overall. Will not go back.

Read reviews, burger was juicy and dripping into the basket, good flavor, a lil tough but it was a thick patty, Mission sauce was like a wierd tartar sauce that was red, Fries...omg amazing! Definitely complemented the burger, not best in Rhode Island but not worse either, will be back to try falafel

Great burger. Very flavorful, fresh and juicy. The fries were crispy and excellent. Really a wonderful place for a burger. ... The only negative was the disinterested guy working the counter. Waiting on my was clearly hurting the game he was spitting at two girls hanging out waiting for their order.

Burgers were juicy and cooked perfectly. They come pretty basic with lettuce, red onion and their secret sauce. There are options to customize with different cheeses and some toppings. Great selection of craft beers that went perfectly with the burger. Fries are super crispy.

Honestly, a mistake if youre craving a burger and dont try this place. Expertly prepared, a great place to be. Being from Chicago, my only minor critique would be that the Chicago dog doesnt have sport peppers. But the Mission is superb, absolutely worth a visit.

Delightful atmosphere. Went during a very slow lunchtime after a long drive. It was very peaceful. I especially enjoyed the dinosaur toy numbers they give you before bringing the meals. Wonderful burgers. Small in size, big on flavor. Strongly recommend.

Simply a must-go for anyone in the Newport area. The burgers are hands down the best Ive had. Fresh, always cooked the way I ask. The fries are hand cut and fantastic. I travel to Newport often and never miss a chance to grab a burger and fries from Mission.

This burger is life changing. I have eaten all over the world and still havent found a burger to top this one. The shop is cozy but inviting, they have a great beer selection, and the customer service is superb. I hope to come back to RI just for this place.

This place was sweet. As the first rated place for young people in Newport, I was expecting a lot and it came through. My only gripe is that the portions were really small for the price, but most people in Newport have money so Im not that surprised.

The burgers and fries rate 5 stars in my book! We came from the cliff walk and we did want seats with a back (all stools) so that we could have relaxed more. However, the food was awesome, will definitely return if we ever come to RI.
