Stopped in with a group of 9, 5 kids and 4 adults during prime dinner time on a Saturday (8/12) and they were very accommodating. Our server was very good with the kids and we were taken care of very well, even once it became very busy. The food was awesome, I had the garlic honey hot wings, the wings were great size, cooked perfectly and stayed crispy until the last wing even though they were drenched in the best sauce I have ever had for wings, and I eat wings frequently and from a lot of places so I dont say this lightly. The kids all devoured their meals, which was impressive in itself. The other food at the table was also great, we all shared, the pork shanks especially were awesome. The selection of beer is good as well, always love finding a new sour on tap that is of quality. Last note, another large group came in after us and we shared a waiter. He was busting his hump to take care of everyone, however the other table started to talk badly about him even though he was very accommodating, very mean things said over trivial items... The one guest literally said "I dont know why but there is just something I dont like about him"... Petty much? I see that the owner reads this often so if there was any complaints I can tell you it was the guest in this case and not the staff.

What a little gem! My husband and I have been here a few times, only getting their (awesome) wings and a couple of beers. Last night, we took my brother with us who was visiting out of town. We couldnt see what was all on tap and the bartender quickly gave us a beer list. We had a Freewill brew (brewed about 2 miles away) which was incredibly enjoyable. Food-wise, we tried the spicy steamed shrimp to start. Very well prepared. The spice was more cumulative and by the end, we were trying to identify the unique spice blend. Very tasty. My husband and I got burgers which had quite a bit of flavor. My brother got the prime rib sandwich and said it was incredibly flavorful and beef was perfect. We will be eating and drinking here more often for sure!

One of the worst restaurant experiences! I ordered rib steak medium rare, it was sent out to me raw, totally uncooked and not edible. I sent it back twice, with no better result. The waitress tried to get a better result, but it got worse, it came with fries and asparagus which mysteriously disappeared. The replacement asparagus were uncooked and obviously the butt ends you cut off and throw away! My husband got crab cakes which were burnt and tasted of old grill grease. The beer was good and the waitress quite nice(we left her a good tip), but I never got served anything I could eat! They did comp my dinner disaster. I went home and had yogurt for dinner!(too tired to make anything else.

Pretty cool old tavern - nice service, good food choices, great prices. Ordered nachos - they were slightly below average, too much cheese wiz, and cheap round nacho chips. Pierogies sauteed with garlic were amazing. Kid meal (pasta with sauce) was decent size and good flavor (according to the kids). My Italian pulled pork sandwich was interesting, a bit too dry and flavorless, but a good attempt. Home brewed Ice Tea always hits the spot. They have a ton of other food choices so Ill give it another try. Would have been a 3, but service bumped it up. Worth a stop if you are in the area.

The food is not bad, but the restaurant is dark and slightly dingy. If you are sitting outside, you will be occasionally hit with sewage stench because the toilet plumbing runs right under your feet in the outside seating area. One time sewage broke through and seeped right as we were eating. It was absolutely disgusting. The restaurant owner opposes separate checks for people in groups, so keep that in mind if you are coming with friends. You will receive a group check that will include items you ordered but never received. The beer selection is a cheery cheap beer variety. Nothing artisanal.

First of all. The beer selection is probably the best in the area. Especially in the summer when they have an additional 25 different taps at the outside bar. They truly fight for beers that are rare and hard to get. The food is solid bar food with some shining stars on the menu. The service at the bar is great, especially if you get Dave(the owner) or his wife taking care of you. If you are seated in the dining room or outside, the service can be good or it can be the worst you have ever had in your life. That would be the only downfall of The Horse. We still love it there regardless.

Literally just moved to town, everyone was tired and hungry. As we drove by the tavern it smelled like the were cooking something delicious so we gave them a try. Burgers, fish/chips, chicken and apps where all amazing. Bartender was friendly and helped us out with condiments and such, best of all they only took 20 minutes to cook our huge order. If youre in the area and want good honest food after a long day, this is the spot.

Okay food, and a decent beer selection makes this place an alright stop if you just cannot dig up anything else to do. The deck / patio is okay, but you get to share the space with the AC compressor and the Ridge road intersection. Even with all its shortcomings, Ill keep The Horse in the rotation; you cannot choose family, and real estate locations follow suit.

A decent place for a burger and beer; good selection of beers. Waitresses was a little snooty to my wife and kept flirting with me - I was flattered but dont be doing this when someone is there with their wife. This was the final stop on a Haycock-Backwoods-Bar Crawl and was probably the cleanest of all the backwood dive bars we were at that day.

A perfect place for dinner or happy hour. we had steak and local craft ales on draught. the mushroom topping was to die for. Steaks flavorful and well portioned. If I could give this place a 6 star for hidden surprise I would. Our waitress was stellar and on her A game. All in all a great place. Adam Smith BBP CEO #BeerBrosPhilly

25 beers on tap to cover any taste from bud to excellent craft beer choices. And then there is food to pair it with... Visited at the spur of the moment and was pleasantly surprised. Would go back for garlic wings alone. Strongly recomend.

Stopped in here for a burger and a beer. I sat at the bar and the regulars made me feel right at home. The burger was good and I was pleased with the wide selection of craft beers. Definitely would come back if I were in the area.

Great food and good service. The burger and fries I got were perfectly cooked and tasted fantastic, and Im usually stingy about that. Definitely recommended if youre in the area.
