I stopped in for some pork and sauerkraut on new years day. The diner was like.empty, but those who were there were mostly tourists, ordering sandwiches. My salad was too big for the tiny bowl that they serve it in. The corn bread was just ok and Jennies had better rolls! The portion size of my platter was more mashed potatoes than meat. And just a trace of sauerkraut! Of course, smaller portions=less crowded with regulars or truckers! I really thought this new ownership would continue with the bigger portions even if they had to raise prices a few dollars. For what I ate that day in this diner, I rather go" down" the road near the mall or on "pike" for a bigger platter, and YES, at a higher cost. I want to leave "full" after any meal that I purchase, regardless of what diner I eat at! I might stop back in a year or two, to try it out again. I also heard a "no go" with continuing the 24 hour service here. By the way, I used to eat at Jennies, at least 2x a month and I live over an hour away!

Weve always enjoyed "Old Local Diners", and restaurants today should take a valuable lesson from them. I remembered The Route 30 Diner from my "Throw Back Days" running out here for another company. When our boss mentioned that "as long as youre out that way, you should stop by and enjoy a real good meal...", and this little, side of the road Diner was mentioned. Once I went to Google Maps, I recognized it! Were a lot older now - especially me - and we usually split a meal together. Believe me, we ordered the meal of two stuffed peppers, with a choice of two sides; we chose a double order of their local asparagus, and one side salad, which was more than plenty! Then, we couldnt resist splitting a large piece of their Chocolate Marble Cake with Chocolate frosting, and we each had a cup of coffee. With a generous tip, we only spent $25 for all of that, and we enjoyed having a conversation with the employees and another regular customer. This stop is a Gold Star on my map!

More like HOME cooking than diner food. Good authentic Pennsylvania Dutch food is on the menu like pork and sauerkraut, chicken and waffles, and chicken corn soup. The chicken fried steak is delicious, and I have had chicken fried steak in some very fine southern restaurants! Everything on the menu is at least very good to delicious. If you are in the mood for "good eating" as opposed to "fine dining", come when you are hungry and expect to take a doggie bag home. Believe all the good reviews you read about this place. Several times a year I drive 60 miles round trip to eat here. Give this place a try. It may not be absolute dining perfection, but for thirty years I traveled coast to coast on business, and this is truly one of a hand full of places that serves meals that are consistently memorable for quality, quantity and value.

Servers are really nice. Food is really good. Owner is extremely rude. I tried to use a $5 coupon from the Clippers magazine, and she told me it wasnt "her" coupon. She basically made it sound like I was trying to rip her off. She raised her voice at me which was completely uncalled for. Also, its the year 2016 and they do not accept credit cards. Get with it. One more thing to top it off- there was a sign on the womens restroom below the symbol saying (women only). Now, I dont know how I was supposed to take that, but Im assuming that it was meant to be a homophobic slur towards transgender. Will never return to this place. If you are not a people person, stay in the back and count your money. I do NOT recommend giving this establishment your business.

Four waitresses from the Prestige Diner in East Windsor NJ escaped their diner for a day, and took an unstructured self guided tour of Lancaster County...and kinda got lost...and descended upon this unsuspecting diner. After stalking the Amish man plowing the field in the back (I hope he didnt see us taking his picture) we went inside, created a ruckus, devoured delicious homemade almond cake, and listened to Hank and Patsy on the jukebox. Its a bit of a drive but well definitely be back, on purpose next time:) If that bald guy that stiffed his waitress is reading this, shame on you, and get back in there and do right by our girl!

The food was good and our server was fantastic. Though the woman who runs this place was so incredibly rude and unprofessional to us. My husband had accidentally leaned his head against one of the old fashioned blinds which hang in each window of the diner when the manager came to our table rudely reprimanding him. Despite my husbands kind apology, she then proceeded to talk about us loudly throughout the diner with other customers and servers and glared at my husband for our entire meal. Ive never before encountered such rudeness and unprofessionalism at such an establishment....and all for accidentally leaning against blinds? Wow.

Was just refused to be allowed to order. I have stopped here in past was great food and service. Today I was informed I could not order like been before was basically told I had to order more food than I can eat. I have had weight loss surgery and can only eat small portions, previously have been able to order off childrens menu as do most dinners and restaurants, today the waiter said no have to order larger portion, even after I explained to him. So basically they want me to pay for food I can not eat. Just ended I place to recommend to people or to stop in future. I now need to go down the road further to find a place to eat.

Worst dining experience ever! This place was my favorite diner for years. They have changed owners and the food was horrible. My wife ordered eggs, they were not cooked. I dont mean they were runny I mean they were clear and not cooked. One of my all time favorites was the fried steak. It used to be two portions breaded and topped with a thick white gravy. It is now one big thing, With a very bland taste, covered in a runny mess. I also ordered red beet eggs, They dont have them anymore either! Ive never seen the worst diners screw up breakfast but this one has managed to do that too! Fair well to an old friend.

We were in Lancaster as tourists. We visited for breakfast two days in a row. The food was good and the portions generous. They were kind enough to allow us to share a plate the second day. We had brothers for our waiters. David the first day and Tony the second. Both were nice young men and good at their jobs. Over all Id say it is a decent place to eat with good value. Also. They only take cash. But the owner has done a VERY good job of posting just that before you ever come in so there is no surprise there. ATM located in the diner for your convenience.

Been going to this diner for years ever since we been coming to Lancaster, Pennslyvania for vacation. Its a perfect place when youre really hungry, expect ALOT OF GOOD FOOD!!! The pancakes are the size of hubcap tires, the bowls of soup are humongous, and the sandwiches are to die for!!! The food is just excellent & the service is old fashioned trucker style. There to make sure you enjoy your food & that youre pleased. Jukebox selection is also great! Definitely will be back soon!!! Highly recommended!!!
