i have been a customer for years, even when they were at their old location and let me tell you that, not only has the service been in decline the last few years, but the prices have risen incredibly and the food is simply not close to satisfactory. you may ask yourself, why have i gone there for so long if it was so bad? because it is the only indian restaurant in reading. i usually frequent the sunday buffet, heck, i plan my weekend around it many times. the restaurant is supposed to open at 11:30, but that rarely happens, and on the odd occurance that it does happen, there is no food ready so one must sit and wait. they also used to have fresh naan on the buffet at all times, and if you eat indian food tradionally as i do, you use naan as a utensil, so i really cant eat without it. so sometimes id have to wait until noon to get any food, then for another 15 or more minutes to get naan. i even got so angry about it once that i mentioned something to the owner. she got snippy with me and said, we cant keep it out all the time, we make it to order now. so now, they dont even put it out on the buffet, they only get you a few pieces once you arrive, which, by the way, has to be made and if you want more, you have to ask and it takes time. now, even if you get there early, youd better hope that there arent many people there because it takes forever to get the buffet refilled. i have had to wait on several occasions, even though there were only a few people there, and have watched other groups of people become irritated with the lack of food and just stand at the buffet in order to get them to hurry it up. so, onto the take out. the take out is actually the best thing here, its made fresh and no need to sit in the restaurant with crazy, loud, irritating indian music blasting in your ear. HOWEVER, it will always take much longer than they say. my wife and i ordered take out the other night, we placed the order at 4:30pm, we also ordered two different dishes, a side, and some naan. we were told it would be 30 to 40 minutes. well, my wife arrived at 5 and at 5:30 she was still waiting for our food. the other owner, a surely man with the attitude of a stubborn camel, came out, barked at my wife that it will take a bit longer because they make it fresh.......???? so 5:45 comes along and they finally get our order together and remark to my wife that it took so long because they forgot to make the naan. the entire bill came out to 70.00, which is rediculous for what we got, and they didnt even throw in the naan, that they forgot, and took even more time to make. not happy.....BUT WAIT, it gets better. so i have gone there for the usual buffet and a few times and had gotten sick. i sort of brushed it off because i was never sure if it was the food or something else, but it has happened more than once. so this past night when my wife and i had this whole take out fiasco i got sick again. it woke me up at 5 in the morning with severe stomach cramps, i wont get into the details, but my wife also got sick, so it was further confirmation for me that it was the food. so even as much as i love indian food, i will never go back there. ive had enough of price gouging, subpar food, bad service, inconsideration and worse, getting sick from ill prepared food. this is your warning, proceed with extreme caution, or you may end up in the hospital, with an empty wallet.

Not punctual, not professional, and probably not abiding by the health code. First the Positive: --Your chutneys were delicious. Theyre homemade and it shows. Great! --Your entrees were wonderful. I had the Lamb special. It was a brown sauce, I got it hot, but it was Medium+ at best. Delicious, nonetheless. My girlfriend got the Molai Kafta, and the sauce was deliciously savory and creamy. --Your waitstaff was courteous and sweet, and for that matter extremely apologetic for the restaurant shortcomings we experienced. Im assuming they are your daughter and her friends, from their age. Aloof and distant as kids often are, but sweet, sincere, and hard working. Now for the Negative: --The owner (or wife/mother, whoever has the large rambunxious sunglasses worn indoors) was extremely unprofessional: yelling at employees in front of customers, arguing with some customers, complaining about those customers to other patrons, and lecturing the remaining customers about the requirements for "Good Food". --Also, the wait time was critically bad. We ordered a Mango Lassi that did not arrive for 45 minutes. I had been there for more than an hour before receiving my appetizer, and the entrees did not arrive until close to the hour and a half mark. The naan didnt arrive until we were halfway done eating our entrees. --The appetizer (the sampler) was bland, and uninspired. Also, the presentation of the appetizer left a lot to be desired. --Finally, abide by the health code. A massive black hair was found when scooping my leftovers into a "to go" box; this may have been from the box brought by the receptionist, but I took no chances and discarded my leftovers. Also, at the start of our dinner we had poppadom; my girlfriend discarded her cough drop in the paper when it was cleared from our table. When wrapping our leftover naan from an entirely different basket received more than an hour and a half after the empty poppadom basket was removed from our table, I found that same cough drop. The fact that we got our own paper back isnt the problem. Its that we may not have been the only table to share that paper and basket, by far. --All told, we were disgusted by our visit to this establishment. The delicious chutneys and entrees are not enough to overcome this unpleasant experience. Had I not had a groupon to cover a decent amount of cost, I would have asked for my money back.

Ordered biryani, chicken chitnad, malai kofta and nan. For takeout. We were asked to come after 20 min, thats usual we were there about 25 min later, were greeted good and said that the food was almost done and about a min or 2 . After waiting another 30 min we grew impatient and sought to investigate whats causing delay. There was no one out so we had to ho to the kitchen door and found every one was having there dinner and no one cared to pack our food, so we said we had to get out and asked to hurryup, later a different lady shows up and asks us to give them enough time to prepare food and said we came too early, once i gave her what time i came and the amount of time i waited, she continued saying that nan takes time and they want to prepare it fresh so customer is not disappointed. So finally we left with the food. Chapter 2. Once we are back opebed the food and tasted it , yukk. chicken ( half cooked brest pieces that was hard to chew) Chicken chitnad In reality its a chicken with bone, with good chennai curry. The dish was with half cooked breast pieces in tomato soup with sesame seeds. Biryani , the rice was ok but again filled with that undercooked chicken breast pieces. And lastly malai kofta is a malai aalu , agai not kofta but aalu. Terribly disappointed and will never return. 0 starts if i can And forgot to say, the nan was 50% burnt
