Its a cute place with a good mission. It seemed pretty empty mid-morning on a weekday, although there as a steady stream of takeout customers. Theyre not super fast with coffees. The latte was very good, pretty strong, not overly milky like they often are. The patties were pretty good. The carrot cake was delicious and fresh, the frosting was too bland for my taste, more plain vanilla than cream cheesy. I also tried a decent banana twist thing. They also do some prepared foods. Its in an unmark d building and is a nice, bright, simply decorated space.

Serene and delicious breakfast experience! Quiet, calm, minimalist, atmosphere with almost Zen-like service. I loved that aspect of Friedas restaurant philosophy! The food is sublime. We had the Mushroom Toast with Poached Eggs and Ive never had a more delicious breakfast entree in my life. It is served on a toasted bread pudding! Also had a Banana Brioche French Toast. Warning: portions are very large! The next time Im in Philly, I will immediately Uber to Friedas for breakfast.

Very laid back, enjoyable experience including talking with the hostess with the brilliant orange hair about our childhoods (Chicago and Yonkers). The cappucciono was good, the croissant fresh. The decor is daring - the space has been left post-demolition, a mosaic of whites and grays, random patches of color dominated by the splendor of magnolia blossoms. Lovely. FYI I LOVE the blue linen shirts!!

Amazing pastries, amazing people who run the place. Everything we had was delicious and made from scratch! From the pastries (croissants, almond cake, scones) to the main dishes. What a special place!

Great atmosphere, friendly quick staff, great food at food prices. They have a great mission of giving back to the community and hiring retired people. Good for groups too.

Super friendly staff. Delicious French food and pastries, and laudable mission to appeal to, and employ, folks young and old. And proudly (and delightfully) Wi-Fi free!
