We have always loved the Black Bass but wont be rushing back any time soon. We had to take a 5:30 reservation in order to get a table by the window on the porch which was fine. The place was empty when we arrived but the hostess sat us right on top of another table of two which was awkward and uncomfortable. The dinner specials were not known when we were first asked to order so we waited until they were posted. Our waitress was excellent as was the food but the atmosphere was not. The bus staff kept asking us if we were "still working on that" when we were still eating and swooped in to grab our plates the minute we put our forks down. It felt less "fine" dining and more like a cafeteria. It was not a very relaxing meal and we felt rushed so decided against coffee and dessert. Very disappointing.

The Black Bass Restaurant is a beautiful spot to visit. Cant beat the outstanding restoration and location on the Delaware. But nothing ruins it more than poor service and a staff that doesnt even say hello or thank you. The Bartender was too busy talking to his buddy and had no time for us and any of the other patrons waiting for service. The septic odor at the General Store is a real appetite spoiler. We have visited The Black Bass many, many times and each time lately we come away disappointed.

We have had 2 lovely dinners at the Black Bass. We stay nearby for our anniversary, and the most romantic part is how, even though people are waiting, the waiter/waitress never makes you feel rushed. Looking out at the river makes for sweet conversation with your love, and outstanding food and wine makes for a fab evening!

My favorite restaurant in Bucks County. Excellent food and the refurbish that the Thompsons did to the interior was on point. Never had a bad meal here in the decade and a half my family has been coming here. Walking bridge to Jersey is right next to the building and the view of the river is beautiful.
