Wont return and wont recommend, but if you want to give it a try, make sure you have a coupon before walking in. Below is my review. VERY MEDIOCRE from service to food. It is no longer your typical American diner after change of management, who does not seem to understand what Americans expect in a diner. In fact, I struggle to understand their value proposition - a family restaurant with a beer license? Doesnt make much sense to me. The waitress did not seem to understand what I was ordering and I had to repeat a few times to make it across while she scowled. I am a Toastmaster, so I stress and pride in VERY clear verbal communications and was very disappointed that the waitress cannot handle the simple, basic task with ease and grace. Then we waited for our food. When I asked for rolls while waiting, the waitress acted as though shes never heard of the idea. The management doesnt seem to understand that in a family restaurant, you NEED to provide rolls while they wait to keep kids occupied - clear lack of understanding of their target customers. Finally, when the food arrives, it was again, very average and not worth what I paid for. I ordered shrimp salad. For the price I paid, especially when there is no soup, salad bar, or rolls coming with the meal, I expected bigger shrimps and large quantity, but no. Collegeville Diners shrimp salad offers shrimps twice the size.

We ate there at approximately 5:30 on Tuesday, September 30, 2014. The waitress took our orders. Delivered salad, which was - no lie - brown. I didnt touch mine. Hubby ate a couple bites of his. We had a cup of soup. That was ok. When the main entree was delivered, hubby got Pork & Sauerkraut and the waitress told him he could order two sides; that shed forgotten to tell him when he placed the order. Well he had ordered the Spartan salad, not pork & kraut. She offered to switch it, but he said hed just keep the pork and kraut and she went to get his two sides. I had ordered Fettuccine Alfredo which looked very good when she sat it down. I changed my mind upon tasting it. The only taste I got was garlic. I like this dish, and frequently order it when out. I stirred it around and took maybe 4 or 5 bites. It was just awful. When the waitress came back to see how everything was, she noticed I wasnt eating. She asked if it was ok, and I didnt say anything, but my expression must have told her. She said, "You dont like it, do you?" I said I didnt. She offered to get me something else, but by now we had seen and tasted enough. Then she asked if I wanted a box for it. Um, no. So she took my dinner price off the tab. Hubby paid for the dinner he had not ordered. Needless to say, we will NOT be going back. EVER.

My party of 3 showed up on saturday for brunch, we were seated right away by the host. The server greeted us pretty quickly and took our drink order right away. We ordered 2 mimosas and a bloody mary he told us he would have to make them because there was no bartender on. The manager/ owner (not sure what his role was) had our server so focused on one table of 6 sitting across from us who was finishing up their meal, they had a excellent experience unlike us. 10 minutes later we were still waiting on our drinks and to place our order. The server was refilling the other tables coffee as we sat there with nothing to drink no water or the ordered drinks. He came over to take our food order and told us he is going to make our drinks next. 20 minutes after we were seated we finally received our drinks. We waited another 15-20 minutes for the breakfast we ordered, and as we waited 2 tables that came in after us received their food before us. It took 40-45 minutes to receive our food. We ate paid($42 for OK food at its best) and were out the door in 10 minutes after receiving our food. The server did apologized for the slow service but I do not think it was his fault, his manager/owner watched him like a hawk to make sure that the table of 6 was taken care of. I do not plan on ever spending my hard earned money here again.

My wife and I went in on 8/3/13 for lunch. Weve never been here before and wont return. Im not a fan of large menus and this place has a really large menu. My Chili over rice platter was okay, just okay. My wifes dish was really bad. She ordered the potato skins with cheese & bacon. The 4 potatoes appeared to be gutted...meaning halved with no middle; the cheese was that cheese sauce, not real cheese and it was over loaded (drowning) with it. The bacon...ha-ha...it looked like last weeks bacon nuked in the microwave for 45 seconds...way over cooked and almost a black color...did not taste good either. The atmosphere was old fashioned, yes it is an old diner, I get it, but the leaky rook right near the checkout line, ceiling tiles that were old and dirty, and TVs around the diner do not show me that the kitchen can turn quality food around in a timely manner. Our order took 20 minutes...for chili, soup, and potato skins. Overall 2 of 5 stars. 2 only b/c my chili was just "okay".

Our waiter was very kind and friendly, however, management was not so much. Our waiter was under the impression that my meal came with a side, however, the bill showed that this the meal did not come with one. When I confronted the person at the cash register (who seemed to be the manager) about the raised price on my bill, I told him that the waitor expressed that this came with the meal. After hesitation on his behalf, he offered to charge me simply for the meal and not the side. I agreed, but when he printed out a new receipt, the price was lowered only a few cents from the original bill I received. When I confronted him again, he tried to say that he gave me "10% off," when clearly that was not what was agreed upon. The cashier refused to apologise for their original mistake and refused to change the price to what we agreed upon.

This place is horrible. Has not changed since the newer owners took over. They own 4 other locations, the Lanarc, South Street diner, and one in Delaware co. (minettos!!) I had a simple breakfast of ham & cheese omelete with home fries and a side of sausage. $12.50!!!! With the coffe and OJ was $16.00 for breakfast.... Never again. Not that good, but eatable. The cup that my coffee came in and it was so stained and looked like never been washed YUCK. Bathroom was over 100 degrees and no air or window, and it was 95 outside. Have been here 4 times over past 6 years and think I will go to Wawa next time, cleaner, better food, and cooler. Stay away...PS staff was very nice, and bakery items looked good, but rest is poor and dirty.
