Very disappointed - we have been to Osaka a few times for hibatchi; it wasnt our favorite, but the food was decent. We decided to take our kids on a Sunday evening for something fun and different to do, and thought theyd enjoy the "show" that you get when you go to hibatchi. We learned upon checking in that they recently got rid of hibatchi and now have tables with built in grills instead where you can cook your own food (regular service is also available). We opted to do the "cook your own" option since the kids were looking forward to something different. Our server was great, very friendly, gave us good tips, etc. Everything was a la cart, you choose your meats, sides, and even sauces. Portions were very small - we got two orders of filet, 2 orders of shrimp (6 shrimp per order), 1 order of pork belly, a side of veggie fried rice, a side of sauted veggies, and their wasabi mashed potatoes (also a side of macaroni and cheese for our toddler, and 3 beers between my husband and I). The meats/shrimp were good, but all of the sides were quite disappointing, plus they were brought out with the raw meat so were totally cold by the time we ate them as we were busy cooking. Even the fried rice was bland. All told, our party of 4 people (2 adults and 2 little kids) paid almost $100 (before tip) for dinner and we all left hungry. Personally the grilling at the table was not for me - It might be fun for some folks, but I didnt find it enjoyable at all. What really got us was the prices - crazy that you have to pay for every little thing (including dipping sauces) and the portions are so small. I dont mind paying for a good meal, but this wasnt enjoyable in the least and we left feeling ripped off. We wont be returning.

Ate at Osaka last night with my boyfriend and we had a great time! It was our first time and we really enjoyed everything. We started with the duck rolls and rock shrimp which were excellent! (I wouldve liked more sauce for the rock shrimp but I would still order them again) We both ordered sushi - I got an avocado roll (I am pregnant) and he got the great tuna roll (he told me it was delicious). For dinner I ordered the beef sizzling hot pot (basically a bibimbap) SO GOOD - my boyfriend was very envious of my meal and has already stolen the leftovers. He ordered the cow boy rib-eye which he enjoyed and the manager even came over to our table and recommended how best to enjoy it. For dessert we shared the green tea tempura - which I am very picky about - and I loved it. The green tea ice cream was dark and rich and not too sweet like some others (could have done without the banana and chocolate sauce). Overall service was great, our beverages were always refilled without having to ask - including our free waters - we never felt rushed or ignored. We will be back!

I have been to Osaka plenty of times in the past. The wait staff is usually ok... however last night I took my family for my daughters graduation dinner. What a mistake. BAD SERVICE. They delivered our meals, the waitress didnt ask how everything was after we started eating. It took about 30 minutes in for that to happen. Then I asked for beer. The keg kicked and my beer was disgusting and cloudy (I didnt drink it), they said it was on the house, but I wanted a fresh beer with my meal... Yuck! But I couldnt get it replaced because our server was nowhere to be found...nor did I see any manager walking around. I had to ask the bar tender to check us out.... because it was about 30 minutes after our meal. The waitress came over and I told her the bar tender was taking care of us... she gave us the cold shoulder, mad a really rude face and walked away.... WHAT???? Advice to management: Good food is NOTHING without the service to back it up. That was my last time at this restaurant. I will not recommend this establishment anymore.

This place used to be one of our favorites, however, will never step foot in there again. Yes it was THAT bad. First, was told we would have to wait to get a menu as they didnt have enough. Second, waited about five min for our drink order just to be taken and an additional 10+ to get them. Had to flag down waitress, who was training another girl at dinner time ON A FRIDAY to take our order. Spicy calamari came out small and barely warm about 30 min later. waited 20 min longer for main course and other appetizer which we realized had been sitting by sushi chef the whole time. The whole time the manager was oblivious just joking with regulars at the sushi chefs bar. Worst manager Ive ever seen. Nobody came to give us our check, had to flag a different waiter to cash us out. Had to get up and hand it then to the manager to complete transaction. HORRIBLE experience for $150 birthday dinner. PS. Portions have been cut in half. Had to eat when I cot home 15 min later.

Friends and family went to Osaka for Mothers Day. We had a reservation for 6 people at 6pm. As we filed in at 6, the hallway was extremely crowded, we were told that our table was not ready and to have a seat. We waited until about 6:20pm and watched other families get seated before us. After we sat down and placed our orders we waited an additional 75 minutes (its about 7:15 now) until the habachi chef arrived. Upon his arrival we witnessed a disagreement, which prolonged the food more. A shattered glass topped off the evening. When the check came we were astonished to see 6 people spent $230 dollars on terrible service and mediocre habachi. The bill included a 18% gratuity fee for having a party of 6. The manager did not disclose this prior. We had to fight to have her remove the gratuity, so we could tip appropriately. She was very rude and non accommodating. We will not be returning to Osaka.

Me and my family have been coming to Osaka for years and is still our number one favorite Japanese restaurant around. Everything is always so fresh and delicious. However, I feel we only really come for the sushi now. They have the new Japanese BBQ but I feel like its a total downgrade from the hibatchi they had. Their hibatchi was phenomenal and totally worth the money we were spending when we went. I tried the Japanese BBQ with my boyfriend on Valentines Day and I have to say it was good but we were getting such little food for quite a bit of money that I think is overpriced. We went to chik fil a afterwards because we were still hungry. Definitely think they shouldve stuck with the hibatchi but all around very good restaurant. The dining room is very good as well, I recommend eating in the dining room over the Japanese BBQ.

Service is extremely slow. Sat down waited 10 minutes until the waitress asked us for our drinks. Waited 10 minutes to get our drinks. We ordered our food immediately sensing the service was very slow. Currently waiting now 40 minutes and no food. Didnt think sushi took that long. Busy Friday and it seemed as if there was only one waitress yet there were multiple people working there just standing around. The manager seemed to be very laid back and maybe thats why there is no sense of urgency in this place. Needless to say I will never come back here. I dont care how good the food is. The service sucks!!!!!!! My time is more valuable to me and there are better choices out there. One star cause the Corona was decent.
