If you want a unique down-home dining experience go to the TRACKSIDE GRILL on Main St in Honesdale. The owners Jeff and Sue are amazing! Sue cooks all day everyday and has a lot of unique food and desserts. Jeff walks around helping his servers, customers and regulars in all they do and need. Youll know him by the train whistle he blows. Their determination to bring Honesdales history to the forefront of your mind is heartwarming. Something a lot of towns lack. Honesdale is famous for being the birthplace of the American Railroad. Most people wouldnt know that had Jeff not themed his diner around the concept. Fresh homemade desserts, soups and food to order. Each day they have a "Feature Menu" on each table. For example, the Horatio Allen, or the Eclipse. I highly recommend The Trackside Grill to ANYONE looking for great food, great price and great people!

I have been there many times. My biggest complaint if any is there are always running out of certain food: Mashed potatoes especially. It would be so easy to cook extra potatoes so they would not run out at 5PM. I love cabbage and noodles which they never run out of but warm it up on the grill and it is crispy and burned. The service is great and Jeff is great. The Roast Pork I had last night was not very good so I will not order that again when they run out of meatloaf. Good pies, cakes, etc.

I eat breakfast here twice a week. The food is above par, and the staff are courteous and helpful. Since Jeff Hiller took over this diner, formerly "Maple City Diner," over 10 years ago, the restaurants cleanliness and atmosphere improved proportionally to employee morale. I hope whomever buys the Trackside Grill from Jeff will improve this restaurant over its currently great condition.

Recommended by so many locals, and rightfully so! They let my friend have her dog sit with us at the outside tables. We got rained on, but the food was so good! I had a philly cheesesteak, and it was fantastic. The water is Honesdale water, let that be your guide. The waitress was very friendly and quite busy, but the wait is fine when you can chat with friends. Great job, thanks guys!

Jeff was great, very nice person. Took a group picture for us. A family owned restaurant with great people inside. Definitely worth the try if you are passing through town like how we were. Jeff told us about the history of this cute little town and we learned that the first train in America passed right through their backyard. Its a hidden gem.

Great food and friendly staff. Best Chocolate Shake Ever! I saw someone order on and it looked great. Im on a diet, but had to try it. I was hoping it was going to be crappy so I could just drink a little. It didnt work out that way. I drank the whole glass and the extra in the metal mixing cup. Extra sit ups later

Do not get the Cuban sandwich god awful they do not know how to make it properly and the "pork" tasted like it was really old they need to look it up n make it correctly or fire the cook other then that the waitress was wonderful n there other food is good

A gem in the middle of Honesdale. The pancakes are HUGE, the meat is fresh, they have home made desserts, the service is excellent with a lot of eye candy on the walls. These people care about their diners.
