Our party of eight--including two of our kids were summer vacationing in the Poconos for the first time. While on the way to the Waterfalls (an attraction that the Poconos is famous for) we were driving on Rt. 209 and saw the the billboard for the "BIg A Grillhouse". With all of us hungry we decided to stop. There is a beautiful scenic pond in front of the restaurant. We were politely seated despite how busy the restaurant was. A varied menu, certainly reasonably priced-- we had appetizers, steaks and prime rib (cooked exactly as ordered), baked lasagne and chicken marsala. The kids had chicken fingers (all white meat)--certainly not fast food. The dessert menu was to die for. The food was amazing and the restaurant and rest rooms were exceptionally clean. With the excellent service and deleicous food, they also advertise that they have entertainment on certain nights and periodically a dinner Mystery Theater Night. Well be sure to be back again!!

Really bad experience. We asked to sit and a booth (husband and I and our 21 month old) and were seated only to have the bartender ask us to leave because "the baby might hear something." So we moved and literally 2 minutes later they sat another identical couple as us with a baby girl same age as our son in the booth we were kicked out of. The place was empty, they werent pressed for seats. Made me feel really badly to be kicked out for no reason, the manager had no answer except "sorry". No real explanation except "it definitely wasnt because i have dreadlocks or wear funky clothes" (why move me from the bar to the dining room??) We cancelled our order. Aside from this service the table was sticky even after i cleaned it myself and the whole place smelled like mildew. Strange to be treated poorly by a guy wearing dirty jeans and jean shirt. Not worth the visit, go to Pub 570 right down the road its way better, and cleaner!

I had dinner at this place a few weeks ago, on a Saturday night. My sister and I got there around closing time however they still seated us. I was very happy they had free Wifi. The atmosphere was lovely, the severer was very nice and engaging. May sister had the grilled chicken and I had the eggplant. I have to say I have never had eggplant Parmesan prepared like that it was Really good. My sister enjoy her chicken as well. The reason I am giving a four is because I ordered tiramisu and cheesecake to go. Well when I got back to my cottage, I had a cup with tiramisu pudding and two lady fingers, and a slice of cheesecake the size of the lady fingers that were in my tiramasu. However it was good but the portion of those two deserts kinda put a damper on things. However I would go back to this place I just wont order desert to go.

this place is going to the dogs, literally. On 7/11/15 my wife and I stopped for dinner. OK, a little over priced and mediocre food, but then half way through dinner, the seat a couple of older a**holes who have brought a poodle in a crate. Not a service dog, a pet! When it starts to bark, they let it out and feed it at the table! WTF!!!??? The staff does NOTHING to correct this outrageous situation! They chit chat while the dog is out like it is nothing. To add insult to injury, my wife wanted to take her left overs home and had them boxed. Turn your back for 90 seconds, you realize you have left your doggie bag behind, it has already hit the trash! No effort to give it to someone who just dropped $50+ on two dinners, no desert or alcohol, just soft drinks (like I said a bit pricey) but let a dog in! Wow. Just wow.

Ive been to the Big A many times and I have to say that I totally disagree with the comments about the service. Theyve always been quick and friendly. There have been times when Id go on a really busy night when thered be a little bit of a wait, but not much especially now that they are in the new location and have so much more space. The food is just as good as it used to be and maybe even better. Its great having the separate bar/lounge area - it makes it seem like you are in a totally different place. The dining room is very nice and clean and quiet and the bar is comfortable and warm and lively. Definitely check it out when youre in the area.

EXCELLENT food and service!!!! We went Fri night for dinner and although it is a bit pricey, the food was exquisite!! Our server, Flo, was AMAZING!!! Not only was she attentive and offered suggestions, she was an adorable older lady!!! We went BACK today for the Sunday brunch and every item on the extensive menu was delicious!!! Reasonable price for all of the high quality food choices and nonalcoholic drinks were included! The ONLY thing we were disapoointed about was that we didnt have more room in our bellies for more of their awesome food!!!!

I really wanted to like this place. Took my wife here on our honeymoon. She got surf and turf. She tells me it was a 8/10. I got a porterhouse steak. It was a 2/10. It wasnt hardly seasoned! My wifes fries were better than my steak. Im being serious about that. The fries were way good! Also the veggies and mashed potatoes were good. And the cheese cake for dessert was a joke. Literally! The only reason they get a 2 out of 5 was because of the mozzarella sticks we got for our appetizer and our waitress, who I sadly cannot remember her name.

Overpriced for poor quality food...would have been better to spend my money at mcdonalds. Had the spagetti n meatballs or sould I say noddles with can tomato sauce...would have been better with paul newmans sauce. I must have used a ounce of pepper just trying to give it some flavor. Some say the steak is good, but at the prices they charge im not willing to spend $25 or more to find out. What they need is to have chef ramsey come there and fix the place up m teach them how to cook.

Customer service was Good, staff was friendly and prices were reasonable...but the Food was just not good. My wife ordered a fillet and it was so dry you could sharpen a knife on what was left of the burnt carcass. She would not complain, but Ive never seen steak so dry. I got the Ribeye and they didnt quite strangle all the flavor out of it...but the quality of the meat is was poorer than what I buy for home. It wasnt "good" by any measure. Sorry!

Chicken, spinach, and broccoli dish stated nothing about mixed in pasta. Received dish and couldn.t find but 2 small pieces of broccoli, less than 2 ounces of chicken and absolutely no spinach. It was a pasta dish with out of the can marinara sauce. It certainly wasn.t worth $19.00! Out of the 4 meals the baked potatoes and the rib eye was wonderful. Manicotti and ribs weren.t worth the price either. Our meal cost $100 for 4. Wasn.t worth the price.
