First time at Corked. Office party of 7 on a Wednesday night. Note: Please read entire review, I was exceedingly happy with the meal, *just not the service! I showed up 1/2 hour early by mistake and had a wine at the bar. Bartender was attentive. Very nice music playing. Restaurant was not crowded by any means. Reviewing menu I was thinking about future trips to try other meals than what I would have tonight. *Waiter brought drink menu to others at the table and immediately asked for an order, to which they asked for a few minutes to review the menu. He disappeared for 15 minutes. Very nice beer/wine selection, although not for the slight of wallet. My appetizer was Onion soup in a crock. Very good flavor, nice croutons and cheese topping. A cut above average. * I received my soup a good 10 minuets before (the only other app) the others at the table got their raw oyster platter. I know this because the soup came to the table, piping hot, and I was almost half way done when the other app appeared. The background music suddenly changed to the disco/bar party beat I would expect at a night club. *Waiter and 2 assistants appeared with Salad course, before clearing app plates, and proceeded to "leave" the appetizer plates on the table while we ate our salads. I had to move my soup bowl to the side in order to receive my salad. I had the beet salad with goat cheese. Very nice mix of fresh greens with red and golden beets. Fresh balsamic dressing and candied nuts on top. * At least 2 times during our meal we were asked if we wanted more water. REALLY, my glass is less than 1/2 full and you need to ASK if I want more WATER! But I digress. My main course was a pan seared Veal chop, with oven brown potatoes and Asiago creamed spinach. The chop was a "perfect" medium rare, spinach was fresh with a delicate sauce. The oven brown potatoes were satisfactory, but not outstanding. Time for dessert. * Our waiter was obviously trying out for the new season of the TV show "LOST". He appeared frequently enough at the table of 3 next to us, but then promptly disappeared. When he finally returned, he ignored those of us who were obviously finished eating (hint, empty plate) and interrupted a conversation of one of the 2 who were still eating to ask if he could clear his plate. Twit! Another tryout for the Lost show and he returned to hesitantly asked if anyone wanted to see the dessert menu, like we were keeping him from watching the Phantoms game on TV. I indicated he should give "everyone" at the table a menu, which prompted him to disappear for another 10 minutes. When he finally returned he, again hesitantly, asked if anybody "wanted any dessert. Again, must have been ice cleaning time for the Phantoms game. We indicated we had not received the menus to which he spouted "he didnt bring them to you?". He immediately returned and asked "who wants a dessert menu?". Come on! You have to ask? Does it cost that much extra to hand out a menu, or pour additional water? So all in all, I thought the food was very good, although a bit pricey. * The service was, well suffice it to say, I have had better service at McDonalds, yes the one with the clown!

This was my wifes birthday experience...I will let the way the management/owner staff handled this do the talking on how horrible it was Had dinner for two tonight with steak and crab cakes. Food was good until you bit into the crab cake and got pure crab shell. Called the manager over and made it appear as if it was our fault because it is fresh and that is common. I worked in fine dining and know that when you chuck a crab for meat you check for shells! The Manger asked if we wanted to continue eating or have it boxed up, assuming a new one without shells, we asked for it to be boxed, which he did do to lack of appetite, but it was the same one with the shell (shell included as a prize I guess). Save your money (pricey for what you get) time and frustration and go to the Red Stag where Neville cares about his guest! We do go thru the the crab meat as we make the crab cakes daily. We sell a ton of them. When ordering shellfish or fish in a restaurant finding a small bone bone or shell is kind of part of ordering seafood. No one likes to chomp down on it. But its crabmeat. Its a good thing meaning its fresh, its real crabmeat & its seafood. There is not much filling in our crab cakes they are pure crabmeat. We are sorry that you were disappointed and we would be happy to send you a gift card for something on us. Please PM us your address. As I said, I worked in fine dining and it is nice that the meat is fresh, though when chucking meat its pure laziness if a piece that big gets by that could do some serious damage. It was not the size of a nickel. I saw it.. . Like finding an olive pit in an olive. What "fine" dining restaurant did you work in? Please let us know.. We are looking for servers. It was handled as it was suppose to be handled. You ordered a crab cakes that one had a couple shells in it.. its part of the gig when you eat seafood..You got what you ordered. In the future Maybe we could note for crab cakes ***may contain shell** on the menu. Then next to fish well also put **may contain bones*** then for the shrimp well note **tail on**. Way over priced and service was terrible!!! Our server was Valerie....for a place with those prices the staff should have a better level of service. She was not prompt nor helpful. She failed to check how things were and I had to continually ask for things.....was substandard service. I would have paid about the same at Shulas but those people trip over each other trying to make your experience equal to what your spending. Plus the food is far more superior. I got the steak and lobster for two.....$120......So not worth it! Steak was small, mostly fat and way undercooked. (Though we specified med well-how do you screw med well up?) server seemed like she could care less. Her tip reflected it! Lobsters were ok but my girlfriends lobster seemed undercooked. This was not a longhorn or a texas roadhouse so typically I wouldnt have been as picky but I spent nearly $200 for two! It was way below expectations! I thought the atmosphere was nice and I liked the neon lit bar top. A trendy looking little place. It was convenient that the valet service was in front of the place since parking is tough enough in that section of Bethlehem. I left knowing I would not be returning.
