I was disappointed. Several months ago, I made several attempts over several days to call in an order for pick-up. No one ever answered the phone! There was no voicemail or anything. It came across to me as extremely unprofessional. I had no idea if the business was closed or perhaps changed their number. Their website at the time indicated they did take out orders and I had placed at least a half dozen orders previously. Turns out, they stopped doing take out orders (the website has been updated since). For some reason, they felt a good way to stop doing take-out orders is to simply not answer the phone when I called. When I finally was frustrated enough to leave a review on Yelp, somebody who worked there posted that they stopped doing take out orders, due to a small kitchen. I get it, if theyre so busy they cant do take out orders, its great that theyre so successful. The way they handled it was poor, and I definitely felt as if they "didnt need" my business. I like their food, but I just have no desire to sit in a small and smokey bar to eat my food. With so many options in Bethlehem, sorry Hometown Heroes, you lost me as a customer.

Its ok. I wish I could rate it using one decimal because 2 is too low while 3 is too high. (2.7, but a 2.7 that rounds down) While I didnt get sick, the food was only ok (the bacon was 1 atom thick and turns to dust when you bite it) + too highly priced + if you split your sandwich with someone you get fined $2 + they refuse take out orders. The food was ok... the atmosphere is nice (didnt have to listen to any country garbage music) bartender was pretty and friendly. The cook was friendly. The cluttered look of 847 random ass items on the wall made it feel...somewhat like a nerdy mans man cave. I cant think of a reason to go back.

NEWLY REOPENED AND REMODELED!!!!! Havent been there since the reopening but I can tell you as long as Paulie is at the reins you can count on it continuing to be some of the BEST FOOD IN THE VALLEY!!! Staff is really a pleasure to talk to and its always nice to talk to Paul the owner! I am really looking forward to going back and seeing what it looks like, as well as checking out the menu to see if there are new items, and enjoy some of my old favorites as well! Keep me a seat open Paulie and my boneless wings ready!!!!! Cant go wrong with this place. My favorite place to eat in town!!!!!!!

We have been here often and have never had anything that was bad. The sandwiches are enormous and the onion rings and fries are really good too. The service could be better. I tried to place an order by phone one weekend and had to practically beg the lady to take it. (I was at work and needed to be able to just run in and pick it up as I only have a half hour.) It was only 3 sandwiches but she acted like they were so busy it was a major inconvenience for her. When we picked up the order there was a total of 2 people in the bar.

This is a 4 star dive bar! It wasnt kooky enough to earn 5 stars, but it is a solid 4. Great Subs that are huge. Beer selection isnt super if looking for non-mainstream, but they have an IPA and Porter to keep it interesting. Based on folks walking in buying PBR and Bush Pounders, they must have good take out beer Prices. You should definitely go to this place at least once to see if it is your kind of scene. One of the most "local" places I have been to. Time for a food coma...

Hometown heros is probably the best sandwich place in the valley if not the world. All of their heros are phenomenal, and the size of them is great. A half is more than enough for one person. They also have great burgers and appetizers and the beer selection is always good. Your normal beers and some great micro beers in bottles and usually a Yards on tap. The owner and all the employees are great at what they do. A definite must try if you are in Bethlehem.

Everytime Im here its absolutely fantastic!! Im drooling over the BLT constantly when I dont get to come in. Great staff, superman everywhere!! The only thing is at the end of the night some nights they have so many customers that have come in that they run out of bread for the "Heroes" which are the sandwiches, so call ahead if youre going late!!! But they have a bunch of other deliciousness

This place was introduced to me by one of my clients over 2 years ago, and since then, Ive been HOOKED on the Pappa Allan. The atmosphere is great, the food is phenomenal, and the people there are hilarious. This place is one of Bethlehems best-kept-secrets! Im serious about food, and this place continues to hit grand-slams out of the park on a daily basis. Keep up the great work guys!

Are you a local?... are you from out of town?.. fear not my friends, this place will make you feel like you have walked through the doors a dozen times. The prices are right and the food is great bar food. No frills... great music playing and usually sports on the screens.

I love it here!!! The sandwich creations are out of this world and the homemade cheesecake is orgasmic! Hometown feel, owner is friendly and the bartenders are cute and fun. Prices are perfect, bar is well stocked and comfy bar chairs. Hope to see you there sometime!

We like this place a lot. Great food & Huge portions! Cold beer. Friendly people. Good service. What more do you need. Sometimes its full, sometimes its not. I think it depends on the time of day. The girls bathroom could use a bit of help though.

If you like BIG sandwiches, this is your place. You will never go home hungry. Fun place to watch a game... its a little dive-y but thats part of the charm. I do not believe they do take out orders, however, as the kitchen is quite small.

This place has the best food in the valley bar none, no pun intended, lol. The people there are the best from paul on down, there isnt an item on the menu that wont blow you away with the taste and portions.

Bottom line, they have some of the best hoagies I have ever tasted. Sadly, they stopped their takeout a few years back, which limits our visits.
