Ok so first I want to address the comment below referring to the ice cream containing "glycol"which the reviewer wrote is anti-freeze. Nothing is more irritating that those who do not do their research and try to verbally slam hard working, small town businesses..Let me set the record straight, Propylene Glycol is an ORGANIC compound and is used in many products from ice cream, soda, sweeteners and yes, as environmentally safe anti-freeze. Not to be confused with Ethylene Glycol which is completely different and the KEY ingredient in anti-freeze. Both are able to lower the freezing point of water, hence why both are used but one is completely harmless and the other, toxic. The USFDA has designated it as safe for ice cream and frozen foods in this specific form and does not apply to other uses. I have no idea IF in fact PG is used in their ice cream but if it is, its completely SAFE. Now, about the actual dairy...I was greeted kindly when I arrived and was impressed by the selection of flavors. I was actually there to buy fresh milk, eggs and butter. The kind woman that greeted me explained the glass milk bottle deposit and told me about their products and farm, I felt very welcomed.I Love that they have the glass bottles of fresh milk and have a variety of soda and other local/homemade products. I couldnt believe how cheap their prices were, for farm fresh milk!, even including the small deposit fit the bottle is still cheaper then the store. I know exactly whats in it, where it came from and its cheaper, no brainer...I will not be going back to the grocery store for.my dairy products again. In addition to knowing where my dairy products came, I can support a local farmer and business and feed my family the best. I will be going back to taste the ice cream and guarantee I will happily and safely enjoy it!!

Visited 7/19/2017 - Cool retro place to grab amazing ice cream, or really immerse and get a quick luncheonette style meal. I ordered chicken salad sandwich on toast, and it arrived promptly along with a side of chips and dill pickle slices. The chicken salad is freshly made and has just the right amount of mayo; and it was served with a smile. The place is spotless and the numerous flavors of their famed ice cream are dotted with traditional and very old fashioned flavors-such as teaberry and butter brickle. Choose from hand-packed ice cream, or hard frozen, or of course order a delicious concoction from the ice cream "bar". An important local landmark, Longacres Modern Dairy celebrates 97 years of business. Highly recommended.

No STARS. Service was terrible never got waited on at the booth had to go to counter to order. Another. Lady was waiting 25 minutes and only got waited on because. My husband told them she needed to be waited on. Other customers came in and waited 15 minutes and only. Got waited on because they went up and asked to be waited on it still took minutes for that to happen. My husband ordered 2 banana. Splits. We got one and waited over 5 monytes for the second one. This is unacceptable. I wanted to rate it minus 10 stArs. .it would not let me

Love their ice cream and milk. Im a true milk lover (Id drink half and half if I could) and their milk is one of my favorites. I stop in a few times a month during the summer to get a milkshake (or two) and they are the best around. Staff is always polite and professional even when they have a line of people stretching out the door. Definitely recommend giving them a try for an ice cream treat (they have soft serve also) or a gallon of milk. Can also buy ice cream in a large variety of flavors by the pint and gallon.

Ah be sure to stop at Longacres for the home made ice cream. I love it b/c its home made. Its not quite as super premium as places like Franklin Fountain, or Little Babies, or Handels, but its still great. Well worth the stop if youre in the area. Worth the trip if youre a hard core ice cream adventurer. I find the hard ice cream much richer in flavor than the soft ice cream. Am a big fan of the flavor death by chocolate. If its served very cold, let it soften a little bit to get the full super chocolate flavor.

Just had one small cup of ice cream and one small sundae which is one small scoop of ice cream, some whipped cream and a cherry. Price for these two small items was $9.75. Although the ice cream tasted good. The price certainly left a bad taste in our mouth. Wont be returning.....theres plenty of other places around here that wont rip you off like we were today...._10.00 bucks ! Man o man !

Lots of deliciousness! Longacres have been in business starting as a dairy. Now its a cute store selling dairy, eggs and their home made ice cream. Pints and half gallons as well as hand dipped. They do sundaes and cones. In summer they have plenty of outdoor seatting and soft serve. They also do burgers, soup of the day, hot dogs and fries.

If you know anyone who has to have a tonsillectomy please tell them about this place. I just had a tonsillectomy & all other ice cream leaves this mucusy film in my mouth but NOT LONGACRES! Their ice cream is off the charts. Best Banana Ice Cream I ever had. Highly suggest checking them out. You cant go wrong here.

Just had a 70th ice cream Birthday Party. This was the greatest place to have a party! The wait staff was very polite and friendly. Everyone was served in a timely manner and the tables were cleared right away. Thank you so much for your service. We had a fantastic time.

Old, old, old-school dairy made ice cream and simple fare as well. Youll feel youve entered another era once inside. Ice cream portions are huge for the price. Food quality and selection is about what youd expect from your moms cooking circa 1958. Come here for the ice cream!

Milk is amazing! Ice cream is just really expensive. I am not sure exactly, but a baby cup... was $3. It was onr adult mouth full! A half gallon to take home is about $9, and a cone you eat there is about $6. If you want it... go with the "to go"!

Hey, what can I say about one of the most creamiest and best tasting ice cream bars we have ever visited. Usually about 30 flavors offered and they helping sizes are very generous. A must stop when traveling up and down Rt. 100 in this area.
