We have been going to the Owen St Tipsy Turtle location for years which on a bad day I would still give 5 stars. When they opened their Avoca location we started to go there as well. We have never had a bad expierence at Owen St but Avoca is another story. First let me say that we have been to this location a number of times and have become familiar with most of the faces of the people that worked here. The quality of food and service is never consistant at this location.Tonight we did not recognize one person working here as well. We ordered their boneless Turtle bites. The quality was absolutely horrible. The chicken had a rubbery texture which is obviously a low grade chicken. The fresh cut fries were soggy and the sauce I ordered to dip them in was not what I asked for. The sauce that I usually order for my bonless bites at the Owen St location was completely different at the Avoca location. It was much lighter in color and seemed to be watered down. When we pay our check, they always give you mints. They did not do it at this location. Not sure what is going on at their Avoca location but after being here dozens of times and having the expierence we did tonight, I have finally decided to write this quick review to say I will not be back to this location.

The food was our waitress when she finally came was nice, but other then that, I feel like there is faster service at the local diner. Seems like there is a lack of communication between the folks who sit you and the wait staff. Almost 30 min before someone came to the table and that was even after we asked to speak to management. Then management had the audacity to say they would take something off the bill in exchange for the wait but then when we got the bill it came to the full total. Overall it was a nice pit stop, but I wouldnt recommend anyone to come back. To top it off, they charged my card the wrong amount..maybe staff shouldnt be so tipsy when they work. Not to say I saw then drink, bit this isnt rocket science. Its the service industry people.

If you want a bar and grill with a hometown feel come to Tipsy Turtle. There are plenty of tvs, so dont worry about missing your game. The staff is very nice and the restaurant is clean. They have a unique and extensive beer selection as well. The location is kind of out of the way, but that is Scranton for you. Overall good place with great potential. (To the restaurant) dont forget to take pride in what makes you special.

Love their wing "turtle" bites. Dozens of sauce choices. Great as a meal, late night snack or to share with friends. The bites are nice and light, no heavy breading and always tender and juicy. Really cool atmosphere especially for sports junkies. Every guest in the dining room can see multiple TVs and each table is provided with a speaker to listen to your favorite teams progress.

Beer selection is decent, but food is definitely not made from scratch. Ordered a burger and asked for it "medium". Waitress looked at me like I had an extra arm and said they "cant really cook it below well" - a telltale sign its preformed patties that are shipped par-cooked. Sauces left strange oily coating on plate. Will not be going back.

Been here a few times for dinners and takeout. LOVE their burgers. Theyre huge, but so so good. My husband usually gets their mild turtle bites and fries (hot, crispy, and delish). Menu has a ton of options, service is usually good, and you dont usually have to wait for a table.

Very good food, large portions, great prices. Atmosphere is split between sports bar and nice dining area. Ive traveled to this area for work over 10 times in the past year. Been to the turtle at least 20 times while there. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Looked like a dive at first being that its next to a holiday inn at the airport. But let me tell you not only the corky humor is amazing but the service was great and as for the food just look at my pics and comments.......

First and definitely my last visit..Server was very nice but I am not paying top dollar for frozen premade burgers cooked beyond well done, server called the manager/ owner over to explain that they only cook to well done

Salads were much fresher than I expected and crab boulla bisque was pretty good on a cold, rainy day. Nicer than I expected, I would come back again. Convenient since its a few steps from the Holiday Inn Express.

Wish I could give half star. Make sure you read menu because they have burgers under burger menu that has no meat on it. And bartender doesnt explain that to you.
