Ok, so my boyfriend and I went here since we were in the area. We read the reviews before going and they all were good comments except for one stating that his soup was gel like which made him sick. Anyway, the silverware werent clean. I ordered a chicken and broccoli w/ white rice. My boyfriend ordered the general tos chicken w/ white rice (the sauce was an abnormal bright redish color and the sauce was also thick and gel like for it to be general tos chicken). It was also too chewy. The food was edible (not the best Chinese American food Ive had), but OK. I noticed a little piece of hair thinking it could have been chicken hair that wasnt properly cleaned off. I kept telling my boyfriend there was hair in my chicken. He kept telling me, "Its the chickens hair babe, its ok". But it WASNT! IT WAS HUMAN HAIR!!! I pulled the hair out of the chicken and it was at least an inch. Disgusting. I didnt have to pay for my order but my boyfriend had to pay for his which pissed me off even more. I would NEVER go back. I would NEVER recommend this place. 0 stars for me if they allowed me to.

So my mom told me that she has been going to this restaurant for years when we lived in Wynnewood when I was little. On Friday night she brought me and my brother takeout. We usually eat at Pak Yue on Haverford Road which is great, but there was recently a shooting nearby and my mom has been skeptical to return. I will admit that my food tasted really good. I had orange chicken with white rice, my brother had general tsos chicken with fried rice, and my mom have chow fun with chicken. So we all had chicken. The next day i woke up with my stomach looking huge and i thought that was weird soon after i began having really strong cramps. I experienced these cramps all day and no one knew what it was. The, around 8 p.m. Saturday night my brother and mom started having symptoms of food poisoning. We all had stomach issues the next day, Sunday. Luckily, my cramps have stopped but my brother and mom are still experiencing problems. I dont want to blame this restaurant but it seems like the only common link. Did anyone else have this experience?

I had lunch at this "restaurant" and it made me extremely ill. I ordered the hot and sour soup to start, It came out as a gel like substance, not brothy like a soup. My friends soup came out the same way. We both tasted one spoonful of the soup and it tasted horrible and turned my stomach. We should have cancelled our order and left right then and there but we decided to stay just for the simple fact that we were really hungry. For our entrees, we both had the shrimp and broccoli and it lacked flavor, wasnt even hot, and overall was a disappointment. I ate about half the dish. About 2 hours later I began to feel extremely nauseous and was having abdominal cramps. I soon began to vomit and have diarrhea that lasted through the night. So Im pretty certain this place gave me food poisoning. Would never recommend this place to anyone.

I have been going to Chung Sing Restaurant several times a year for over twenty years and I have never had a less than satisfactory experience with either the wonderful service or quality food. I have been to various regions in China and have taken courses in Chinese cooking, and I always look forward to Chung Sing when I don`t want to drive to Chinatown in Philadelphia.

Ive been eating at this diner for 30 years. Unlike other reviewers on this site, I have never become sick from their food. While its not the most authentic cuisine around, if you go in with the understanding that its Chinese-American Szechwan style, they do an excellent job. The staff are always friendly and accommodating.

Old fashioned Americanized Chinese Food. Inexpensive, heavy sauces, no pretensions they are what you got 40 years ago. Lovely family owns the place.
