I like stopping in here whenever I have to go to the bike shop around the corner or on my way to the Portland Insight Meditation Center. Ive done a couple of writing dates here as well. Since the place is small and kid friendly its not necessarily the greatest for escaping into relative quiet. However, due to the size there cant be tons of screaming people in here, small or otherwise, so it never gets very loud. I like their food quite a bit; the drinks are okay and improve if you stick to the simple stuff. +1 for the chai.

worst coffee I have had in a while. me and my girlfriend went there on my way to work and had to wait at least 10 minutes for someone to take our order. we got our lattes after another 10 minutes and the shots were burnt and tasted super watery. had to throw out both of them. Im shocked that a coffee shop would be that bad and the fact that there werent any customers leaves no excuse for how long it took and how bad the coffee was.

I was reminded as to why I visit places like Starbucks when I stopped in here today. As Starbucks provide the same taste/service no matter what store you go to. With small coffee shop, you risk paying top dollar for a drink that is not prepared properly. My Mocha tasted like warm milk. Could barely taste any other flavors one would commonly associate with a Mocha coffee.

What a great coffee shop! I found it on a Google search as I was driving through the neighborhood. The coffee is really good, smooth and delicious. The Wifi worked great, none of the lag that I sometimes experience at some shops. I also had a bbq chicken panini and it was DELICIOUS. I will definitely keep this place in mind the next time I am in the area!

I used to live in this neighborhood. The girls that own it are friendly and sweet, their coffee offers more than Stumptown. They carry baked goods from Sweetness Cafe and also offer lots of interesting ideas for coffee drinks. VERY kid friendly and they are always supporting local art. All in all a lovely place to sit and sip.

Five stars. A neighborhood staple, Space Monkey doesnt tolerate disrespectful behavior, cares about the integrity of the shop and their patrons ability to have a comfortable place to work and enjoy the shop. A rare breed in this part of Portland, I am happy to spend my time and money here. Long live the independent coffee house.

Unexpectedly good milkshakes! Not the super-thick kind of milkshake, but I know the mocha flavor is super tasty. Regular drip coffee is so-so, but I once splurged on this banana-chocolate thing they had going, and that was good too. You can also come here for baked goods from Sweetness or local arts and crafts. Neato!

The owner is always friendly. Great coffee, well balanced good flavor, not over roasted. He over some vegetarian options for munching as well as juices and teas. Their is one computer to access the internet but bring your own and there is wi-fi. Great eclectic music always playing.

I think this place is great! Really good coffee, really good food (good morning sandwich is a favorite), killer smoothies (I adore the grasshopper). Very kid friendly--my kiddos love the play area. Staff is very friendly in a comfortable way--I always feel at home and welcome.

I like this place. The baristas are very friendly and the coffee is pretty good. They serve soy lattes and dont charge for the soy. I wish more places were like that. Their pastries are better than most places. In addition, they are very kid friendly.

Such a cute place. We split a salad and it was enough for both of us. The housemade Green Goddess dressing was sooo good. They have a large menu for a local coffee shop. Want to go back for a shake, yum! Lucky to have this in the neighborhood.

Sweet little neighborhood café with good coffee, home baked muffins and sweets, and friendly staff. And a play area for the little kids which my daughter loves. Recommended: the ham, egg, and cheese bagel.

Tom runs a great little coffee shop that offers a great space to sit in. He is conversational and the shop is small so prepare to chat - a better social spot than reading spot.

I liked the old owners - The new ones cleaned it sure, but theyre not friendly and are constantly arguing or complaining on their phones or to the customers.

Best coffee in Portland! A very lucky find while I was killing time on a random Sunday. They use Corelle dishware. The atmosphere is the definition of funky!
