IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A HIT & MISS, SELF - SERVE RESTAURANT, WHERE THE CUSTOMER IS NEVER RIGHT THEN THIS IS YOUR PLACE. I wish I could give them 0 stars. Hands-down, this is the worst experience I have ever had in Oregon AND at a restaurant. I would not recommend this place at all. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich (BEWARE: COLESLAW IS INCLUDED IN THIS SANDWICH). I told the waitress nicely that I would have never ordered the coleslaw/pulled pork sandwich had I known it was going to be both on the sandwich. These are the things she said to me. 1. "Cant you just scrape off the coleslaw?" (This is how the conversation started) 2. "I am sorry but 98% of our customers have never had a problem with the sandwich." 3. "You cant talk to the manager, the manager is working in the kitchen. So, he wont be able to talk to you but I have managerial skills and can take care of what you need." (Not sure what kind of managerial skills she believes to have) 4. "The only way you would have known coleslaw was actually on the sandwich is if you would have asked me but you are the only person that has had a problem." Im a very patient person. So, I actually tried scrapping off the coleslaw before eating the sandwich. The meat in the sandwich was so blackened that me chewing it would not break it down. I had to spit it out. I wish I would have took a picture because you wouldnt believe how burnt the remainder of my sandwich was. It was NOT edible. She comes back to the table and ask me if she can help me further. I told her that talking to the manager would suffice. This is where she began to get an attitude stating that the manager cannot and will not talk to me. I asked her has she even told him that I asked to talk to him. She paused and said, "No". Talking to the manager made things even worst. The manager never came out of the kitchen. Instead he motioned me to come stand by where the waiters and cooks communicate. I began to tell him my issues and he immediately got defensive. Basically, by telling me that there was nothing wrong with HIS sandwiches and that he has been cooking it this way for 3 years and no one has complained except for me. This is when he began to start back cooking and ignoring anything else I had to say telling me that my meal is on the house as if I was now wasting his time. These people are rude and have no idea on how to talk or treat their customers.

Date Dined: Tuesday, 6/29/2010 7:30 PM. Wait Time: 25 mins Food ordered: Regular Iced Tea / Miss Delta Cocktail Fried Oyster / Sweet Potato Fries Jambalaya / Chicken Fried Steak So we finally got us a table and sat down. After we ordered drinks and food, it literally took them 30 minutes to bring Sweet Potato Fries and Fried Oysters. Fried Oyster / Sweet Potato Fries I liked both of them. But hey, I dont recall when was the last time I had a bad sweet potato fries. Jambalaya Bland other than spicy hot. They probably used canned tomato sauce, cooked rice, shrimp, sausage and sauce separately then added them all together and simmer at the end. Nothing special. Chicken Fried Steak Steak was tough. They don’t know how to use a meat tenderizer. Heavy breading. Macn Cheese was good. Mashed Potatoes were okay. However the gravy, again was bland. I think they make food to accommodate vegetarians. Many restaurants make mistake that vegetarian foot = bland. This should not be the standard. If you cant bring out the taste of nice vegetable flavors, don’t even try. Service It was like, really? We were not asked for more drinks or how we were doing. I understand it was busy but seriously? For non smokers Do not get a seat closer to the entrance. I cant remember the name of it, but there is a bar right next to the restaurant in the same building, and we were annoyed by the smokers outside. Over all, since they are in my neighborhood, I will probably give them another chance to order just appetizers and drinks. But if you really want good Southern Food, go to Screen Door on East Burnside.

I ate at this restaurant for lunch today (7/8/16) with my boss and coworker. We received terrible service. We were seated quickly, but the server took probably 10-15 minutes to come back and take our order. The table next to us, seated after we arrived, received and finished their meals before we even got our food. My coworker received her food about 15 minutes before my boss and I received ours. And my boss had ordered a salad! It was about 45 minutes after we were seated that we finally received our food. I never got my cornbread that was supposed to come with my meal, but I didnt bother to complain about it as my coworker had already spoken to both servers about the wait for our food. We also had to ask for water while we waited for our food because they never gave us a refill. The food was fine, but nothing to write home about. To try to make up for it all the server gave us $10 off our meal. Unfortunately when we received the bill I noticed that my meal had been charged at $15 when the menu said it was $12. We all had been planning on paying separately since my coworker doesnt carry cash. My boss and I paid with cash and received a $5 bill back (and no coin change?) as change for our orders combined. Any smart server would have given us ones back so we could tip properly and divide our change accordingly. We decided to just leave the $5 there and go since we had already been there over an hour and needed to get back to work. Maybe the server was just new, but we will not be going to this place ever again. Sorry.

The restaurant itself is another trendy cafe, masquerading as a southern installment in the heart of Mississippi Ave. Upon walking in we were glanced at by the hostess, who managed sullen acknowledgment but unable to actually smile. OK, she was having a bad night. With a 20min wait, we volunteered to get a drink at the bar and the hostess spun around and returned to sulking. She neglected to mention the lack of a bartender. 20min spent politely waiting at the bar before we were eventually just seated with no beverage. 25more minutes elapsed before we were actually waited upon. We inquired as to the expected wait time for food (it was getting late) and snappily replied to that it would be 15-20min. 45 minutes later, the rest of the restaurant had been served and our waitress seemed intent on dodging our table, having not come over since. We decided at this point to cut our losses and leave. The waitress turned snappy, informed us our food was "on the rack" to which we requested they bag it. It wasnt ready. We waited another 15 minutes before food was in hand (well, they neglected some sides) and the waitress turned into a hostile evil little woman. Would never recommend to anyone. With all your choices on this street, AVOID MISS DELTA. The food? We were split: Catfish was not fresh but cooked well. The chicken fried steak is over-breaded glorified, hamburger. Potatoes are salty and the gravy is subpar. The flat iron steak was apparently amazing, though.
