Ordered out since I was short on time. I usually get general tsaos and chicken chow mein from powells seafood. Pretty much my standard and I get it from any Chinese place. This is the first one Ive gone to, out of all of the many chinese places Ive been to, that not only got my order wrong, but pretty sure gave me poor excuse for "crunchy" noodles. Its those crunchy noodles for salads they gave me. When I got there he repeated my order for general tsaos and kung pow chicken. Not what I ordered. I ordered Chicken chow mein with crunchy noodle. Figured the salad noodles were the crunch and they had real noodles in the dish. Nope, just bean sprouts. A lot of Chinese places skimp on vegetables and meat for bean sprouts because its cheaper. Didnt think I would be screwed 18 bucks for this. General tsaos is like any other place. Chicken chow mein was not. First chow mein ive had that didnt have noodles. Some chicken and a lot of bean sprouts. Gave another star for the rice and general tsaos being good. Will not be going back there.

This is hands down the WORST customer service I have ever gotten. The shorter server was incredibly rude and cold. I let him know that there was something sticky on the seats (felt like glue) and it had gotten all over my shorts. He completely ignored me and walked away. When we paid, my wife nicely let him know that there was something sticky all over the seats and he looked up and then looked back down and handed her the receipt. It felt like he just hated my whole family and we were being respectful the entire time. I will never be back here. The food is ok (not amazing), but customer service is key and this place is lacking. FYI, the hot and sour soup tastes like Campbells beef soup with hot sauce.

Poor service. Worse food. Was waiting forever watching people who I literally heard order after for me who did not phone ahead, get their orders way sooner. Ordered black pepper pork, got chicken...and quite frankly, Im glad it wasnt pork, because the chicken was awful. Dry, chewy, no good. Dipping sauce for Rangoon, equally terrible. Even for American Chinese food, that place is not worth your $$!. Cant believe I shelled our $30 for pretty much uneatable Chinese. Their video poker customers looked happy, and got very attentive and prompt service. They probably dont eat there though. Sorry I tipped them when I paid. Avoid.

A friend and I tried them for the first time and everything was delicious. They even had good Crab Rangoon, which is hard to find at a lot of places for some reason. We both tried the egg drop / hot and sour soup and they were very tasty and homemade style that stand out from the others. I was referred to this place by another person who also liked it. For the other poster to say that it is worse than Panda Express is absolutely wrong. Its the best option in the neighborhood for Chinese. And they are local people, not a corporation like Panda Express, shame on anyone that supports that.

some of the best chinese food in portland. I love the Mongolian Trio. I always get a crab puff and hot and sour soup with it. sometimes the service is lacking so if customer service is the most important thing to you, then you may want to look elsewhere. I have only been unhappy when I brought my boss and some visitors from Ukraine and all of our orders got mixed up. I was a regular here for lunch but have started bringing lunches to work to save money. I will be back whenever I am able to afford it again.

Although I have been coming here for the past 5 years, I was very disappointed in my visit today. As we had never tasted Thai Sweet Tea b4, I asked if we could try a small taste b4 ordering it bc they charge 3.25 per glass. I was flat out told "NO". I work hospitality and wouldnt dream of denying a request like this. Also found the server to be quite rude. Need customer service and manners training here$

This place has decent food, Ive been here several times. Today the guy working the cash register was very rude to me. If, you cant muster up the courtesy to greet your customers in friendly and appreciative way, why are you in business. Please work on your customer service skills, it is important that. How people feel comfortable in the place that theyre spending their money. :(

Are you kidding me? How come anyone would only give them 2 starts? If you are talking about the old Ying Ying restaurant, I would agree with you. After the young couple take over this place, they done a perfect job on their food and service! They definitely worth 5 stars now! Everyone in St. Johns are so happy that finally a decent Chinese restaurant is here now!

Tonight was my first experience with Kung Food. I placed a takeaway order. The lady that took my order was very nice. I ordered crab puffs, and Kung Pao beef extra spicy. I have to say this was one of the better Chinese restaurants that I have been to in a while, the portions were a good size, and a good price. Give this place a try.

We are thrilled to finally have a good Chinese restaurant in the neighborhood!!! The new owners are so friendly and their food is fantastic. Youve got to try the Salt Pepper Shrimp! If you were turned away by the grossness of Ying Ying, its time to come back and give Kung Food a try. It will be worth it!!

I used to love this place, but something has happened in the last year that has just caused the quality to plummet. #sadpanda Its enough to go from 5 * down to 2 * On an up note, theyve never screwed up my take out order.

I remember when this place used to be ying ying. I absolutely hate their food. It doesnt taste authentic and everything has a fishy taste to it. Its definitely not worth the money and they have lost my business.

Well above average for n portland. Egg rolls insanely good. Fried almond chicken! One would normally have to go east to 82cnd to find Chinese food of this caliber.

Its decent food, reasonably priced. I would stop there again if I was in that part of town. But I wouldnt go out of my way for it. Overall pretty good.

The food is typical American Chinese style like a number 3. The food is plentiful, but the fried items probably comes from Cash and Carry Wholesale.
