Have been consistently impressed with the quality of beverages Ive gotten from CHNW. Whether they are serving their own (branded as Sterling Coffee Roasters), or featuring Stumptown, Heart, Water Avenue, or any other roasters beans, the baristas prepare the coffee with an exceptional attention to detail. One of my favorite parts of going to their shop is how knowledgeable the staff is about their coffee. I work in the industry, so its fun to geek out a bit with all of the nuances of the different varietals and blends they serve.

Of all the coffeeshops in Portland, this one is my favorite. It took me a long time to discover it even though I walked by there for months! Burnside is kinda gritty right there, but if you step into Coffeehouse NW, youre transported to another world of a spacious, artsy space. And then you sip the Sterling coffee and youll be hooked for life! But wait, theres more! The best feature is if you buy a $25 coffee card, you get any drink free. Its a no brainer, because of course youll be back!

Coffee House Northwest is such a special place. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would. The staff are beyond nice or polite: they are kind. How many places can you say you can walk into and be greeted with sincerity? You can also ask how a specific type of coffee is brewed with fear of condescension. Its refreshing to know that your cappuccino will always be divine, never burnt or the wrong temperature. If you havent gone yet, you are missing out.

I go here a lot. They border on coffee elitism but thats because the baristas are prefectionists. For example when you order a shot, they tell you the day the beans were roasted, and the time and temperature that the shot was pulled. The quality and consistency are excellent. Their mochas use interesting chocolates. Its a cool hipster hangout with big windows. Good place for people watching inside or out on burnside. Fast internet and lots of outlets.

So, I just stopped in for a cup of coffee and to work a little bit before a meeting. The guy working was very busy flirting with female customers so I had to wait a little bit to get the coffee, it was $2 by itself. The atmosphere was great, though a bit humid and musty. The coffee was ok, nothing to be too excited about though. Over all, there are better places to go to, but this wasnt terribly bad.

I love this little place. It is a really great date spot as there are fresh flowers, amazing lattes, and just enough space to feel comfortable without too spacious. Hard to describe but done just right. Not the best location as it can be hard to reach from the busy Burnside Road, however if you can walk or bike there- all the better. Top notch coffee and love Sterling coffee roasting.

This quaint little place on NW Burnside, has one of the best espresso pulls in town. The quality of their coffee is only rivaled by Albina Press. Not the best hacking hangout, but a great spot to read a book while enjoying great coffee. Coffee Shop Criteria - Coffee: A+ - Food: ? - Service: A - Seating: C - WiFi: B - Outlets: D

This is one of my favorite coffee houses in Portland. They serve Stumptown so their coffee is very decent, and unlike Stumptown it has an inviting, less pretentious vibe. Its not huge so you probably dont want to come in with a big group. Id say its an ideal location for stopping by to get coffee to go on your way to 23rd or to sit for hours and do homework.

Relaxed atmosphere, celestial drinks and discreet service (you know, not like TGIF). Hot chocolate is worth the money (from Cacao), and chai latte also divine. Espresso fiends welcome. Come here when I can and the varied table setup, wifi, and several outlets make a nomadic office possible. Favorite neighborhood cafe. (treats from Bakeshop, no meals though)

Good pricing for a medium sized Chai, not too hot without asking, tasty and done right. The apple dumpling pie had a very flaky crust (not my preference, but it suited well), and all for a good cost and timely. That they are right across from Starbucks makes it all the better. I love that my money went to a local company instead.

I have made Coffeehouse Northwest my go too coffee shop for stellar coffee. They are competitively priced to most local coffee, and the quality of drink youll receive and the perpetually cheerful, well dressed Batistas will surely prove why this little locally owned shop can make them your go-to as well.

Coffeehouse NW, along with Sterling Coffee Roasters nearby in NW, are 2 of the best coffee roasters/brewers in town. Maybe the best. Great atmosphere at both places, great value. I cant understand why anyone would ever choose Starbucks when these local places cost the same and are worlds better.

Hole in the wall restaurants are the best for authentic cuisine, and apparently in this case some of the best espresso in all of Portland. They have their craft elevated to art, at affordable prices and plenty of pastries to go along with your beverage. Amazing service as well!

Quality, consistent coffee drinks in what seems like a cafe oasis on W. Burnside. It can be pretty busy, and there are not a lot of indoor seats, so sometimes it can be tricky to find space to sit among the laptops. Bonus points for the bike corral right outside the window.

In a barage of rundown bars, dodgy sex shops, and a plethora of neon fast food signs this little coffee shop is a gem. Its a beacon of beauty. Its quaint interior transports you to a different time. I highly recommend it if you live in the area.

Offering a variety of brew methods, coffeehouse northwest is definitely a coffee experience. Its location is prime -- right across from Starbucks on burnside. Seems like a nice place to work and to people-watch as well. Nice natural lighting.

Top 5 spot in Portland for Coffee. Number 1 for awesome people that work there. Perfect macchiato, and possibly the best cappuccino in the entire Pacific Northwest, probably makes it the best in the country/world.

One of my favorite coffee shops. This is the only place I ever order caramel lattes because they are so good! I believe they use caramel made by a local bakery. Not very diverse in the snack department though.

The BEST soy latte in Portland. Omg. I am a lucky girl to live so close to this coffee house. Friendly service. Can be a bit slow when it gets busy. Historic location on a corner with plenty of window seats.

The staff was friendly and one of the gentleman took the time to give me a detailed pastry tour. Pastries were highly priced, but everything was delicious. Amazing foam work with almond milk!

Great coffee, friendly service. This place isnt easy to see from the street, but its definitely worth stopping, if you spot it. This is a must-visit place for us every time were in Portland.

This is, in my opinion, the best espresso in Portland, served by some of the nicest employees youll meet, in a bare-brick, vintage setting that invites customers to stay and chat for hours.
