The food was great. Truly. And the staff was friendly. One thing though...a couple people I was with ordered a drink that came in a can with a tin foil cover on the top kinda like on a yogurt. The guy brought them to our table and tore off the cover. I had never seen a can with that before so I commented that it was neat since it kept the can clean where your mouth would touch it. He said he thought it was stupid since it was wasteful and you just throw it away. He wasnt really rude about it, but it made me feel guilty for liking something that wasnt all that environmentally friendly. But when I thought about it later - hes the one selling it! If you think its wasteful and stupid either stop selling it or shut up when a customer likes it. And Im not even the one who bought the stupid thing.

Feel like no-BS Italian comfort food without the BS of an Italian restaurant? HERE YOU GO. Youre not going here to class it up and impress the ladies. Youre going here for: Meatballs, Marinara, Punk Music, Purple Drank with Rum, the Game on the TV, and a classically small PDX micro eatery. LEGIT. When I called ahead, I figured it was like just about any other Italian joint in Portland. I was all like "Pardon me, Good Sir, do I require a reservation for a table? If not, is the wait quite bearable, my GOOD MAN?" Answer: *Snicker* "Naw, man, no reservations, the wait is...not bad" *Snicker, snicker*

Great food and a relaxed atmosphere. I always try their "ball of the day" and am never dissapointed. This place makes meatballs into an art form. The various ways in which you can enjoy them (over polenta, as a slider, with pasta! Add a side of veggies! ) makes for a fun eating adventure and helps to fit any appetite. I usually get one slider and their generously portioned kale salad and Im good to go for a quick and relatively healthy meal. Dont forget to grab a chocolate chip cookie. Theyre delicious!

I ate here twice on a recent week-long trip to Portland. I sometimes crave something simple and familiar, and 24th and Meatballs fulfills my craving for Italian goodness on a soft roll with just enough texture to it. I had the 3 meatball hero with spicy pork sauce both times with a lemonade. The meatballs are moist and the provolone melts nicely. Im not sure if the lemonade is made there, but its a nice sweet/sour combination to offset the meatiness and richness of the sandwich.

Cute space, underwhelming food. I love the concept of the Ocean pod as there is an amazing outdoor firepit and tons of outdoor picnic tables. My boyfriend and I ordered the vegan meatballs by a rather "ehh" server who wasnt the least bit excited to have us there. The meatballs were decent but semi dry and not very exciting. Came on a bed of white noodles and barely any sauce. I do love their space and the concept but probably wouldnt go back.

Oh my meatballs!!! This is a must go to stop if you love a great meatball. We drive from the west side just for this yumminess! I had their meatball sub and honestly, its the best one Ive ever had! I had the veal, pork, and beef meatballs but they have other options to choose from. I highly recommend 24th and Meatball! Yum!

Good food, had the Vegan Meatball Sub which was amazing. Adult Kool-Aid was good too. My friend had the pork meatballs with the tomato basil sauce, which was ok. Food is a little slow near closing, so maybe not the place for a quick bite at night. Still, strongly recommend stopping in for the "Best Balls in Portland!"

A friend took me there before the Roger Waters/Pink Floyd concert last month and I gotta say it was outstanding! Never heard of it before that night and have been back numerous times. I drive over 200 blocks to have their meatballs and its well worth the trip. GO.....enjoy!

Great variations on a great dish: MEATBALLS. Ive eaten here 3 times and have enjoyed different combos every time. A hint: If you love wine, across the street is the most PDX wine shop, Pairings.

Gone down hill, prices went up, removed included sides, place got a bit dirtier. Maybe it went under new ownership that doesnt care as much. Its alright but better stuff right next door.
