Heres the thing about Falling Sky - you love it at first, and then the more you go, you notice some problems. Ill say up front Ive been to this place at least 25 times, probably more, since they first opened. The ambience is a bit loud and cafeteria style, but clean. Excellent bathrooms. The food is really hit or miss. First time I had the poutine it was awful, second time I had the poutine it was amazing. The quality of the food really fluctuates, perhaps because of different cooks or different ingredients. My burger has been medium rare, medium, and overcooked at times, without asking how Id like it done. The other, and probably biggest problem with the food are the portions. Most dishes are just tiny (with the exception of the poutine which is a gargantuan sloppy mess and cannot compare with poutine from Quebec - its all in the gravy). All dishes are way overpriced. A burger with bacon and no cheese for $13 is too steep. The specials are generally the more overpriced/small portion dishes. The garden burger is delicious and I hate nearly all garden burgers. They had a crispy chicken sandwich on the menu in the past that I actually had dreams about. All in all the food is truly hit or miss and generally overpriced. As for the beer: this is where Falling Sky gets a solid 2 and 1/2 stars for me. All the beer has the same aftertaste, despite a plethora of choices. Sometimes I go there and just wish I could get an Oakshire Watershed, which obviously blows any of their beers out of the water. I used to go there and sample various beers they had, considering carefully my choices. Now I just pick the first type of beer I feel like - light, IPA, dark - without trying anything, because honestly I think all the beers have a similar watered down taste. The wait staff is exceptionally friendly. Condiments are really really good, especially the mustard. Despite my its okay rating, I keep coming back.

Good food, surprisingly average beer. Ive heard really good things about the beer in the Eugene area, and admit that I had higher expectations coming into Falling Sky — especially after the beyond stellar beer at Hop Valley. But Im afraid that Falling Sky didnt quite hold up to my hopes. The food was decent — four to four and a half stars. But Id have to ding them for their lack of attention to the offerings they have for kids. My daughters quesadillas were totally sub-par looking and there was nothing special about my sons hot dog (hes a total hot dog kind of kid and didnt eat it all). The salad was really good — fresh, crispy vegetables and thick-cut bacon. Dont bother with the roasted vegetables. Mine mostly consisted of cauliflower (and I cant stand it). In the very least throw in some red and green grilled peppers, maybe some caramelized onions, or some other vegetables more conducive to roasting or grilling. I dont regret coming here — Im always up for exploring new destinations and trying new beers. Just keep your expectations tempered and youll enjoy it here. Its a good place, but not great.

This is my go to spot in Eugene right now. They have a great casual environment that has a very mountain-town vibe. The staff has always been exceptionally friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to either add a little extra table service or just by being genuinely nice. There arent many service oriented establishments in Eugene that have dragged their model out of 1998 for some strange reason, but FS is definitely doing it right. The menu is well cared for, but occasionally doesnt live up to its full potential. I think price points should probably be about 10% lower ultimately, but in this decent restaurant desert of a town Im willing to pay a premium to feel like Im eating out in 2017.

I managed a kosher deli in souther California called The Katella deli.I have eaten at most if not all deli in southern California. The Sky Fall has no clue as to what they are doing when it comes to a good sandwich, Next time you are there walk up to the window and when i did this it was very dirty, and look its very dirty. If someone who knew what they were doing could make a killing up here in Eugene with good kosher style food. That goes for good BBQ to as Hole in the Wall falls short of being very good at all.

Over priced food, decent beer (which for Oregon isnt saying much) and really weak coffee. For a family of five, we ordered 4 meals and a soup with two drinks. The bill was $80, which we wouldnt have minded if it had been worth the cost. The fries were soggy and the burgers dry. The hash was okay, and the soup was all onions. Later we ordered a coffee, which came in a promising French press. It was flavored water at best, even after steeping longer than normal. Sad experience. We wont choose this again.

Nice house made non alcoholic sodas, burgers, not so much, the too thick patty was unseasoned/bland, un-rested ie, steaming and too hot and bleeding , not pleasant. The soggy brown fries were terrible tasted of dirt+ old grease, if yr gonna copy a a fad, get it right. no crunch limp wet soggy , and expensive for what it was. Fries AND salad would make a well rounded meal, why only offer one or the other. Over all impression was of a careless inexperienced cook.

Ive really liked the food here for the price. Their ketchup and hot sauce is amazing!!! So, mix those condiments together on some fries and your mouth will be so happy. And Ive really liked many of their beers, too. A couple of their beers werent my favorite but thats just because Im not too fond of some styles. Everything I have had there has been delicious so far, and I really love the falling sky atmosphere. Perfect place for beers and burgers.

We ate lunch there yesterday. Many beer selections, good food, outdoor (and pet friendly seating available), good service, and friendly staff. We enjoyed our lunch there. Addendum: we ate here again on our way back through. My wifes salad (the "Hearty Salad") was excellent. My pulled pork sandwich was dripping with grease which made it poor in my opinion. We still think that this is a good place. We just dont recommend the pulled pork sandwich.

Really good food! I dont drink alcohol, so I cant comment on the beer. But the food here has consistently been better than I expected for a brewpub. Pros: mostly – really good food, in a locally owned business. Nice heavy duty wooden tables. Fun indoor/outdoor environment. Cons: can be a little loud sometimes. Somewhat expensive. Wish they had a few more vegetarian options sometimes. Overall: a pretty hip, tasty, fun place to go out with friends!

Fantastic food and craft beers. It a different setup than I was used to before I moved here. Order at the counter, they give you a number, and you find yourself a seat and wait for your food while drinking your beer. The thing is that the counter is in the back of the establishment so when it was crowded on a Friday night, it was immediately apparent to me. Got it sorted out with the help of another patron and had a great night after that.
