oh so much to say about this. Service: the place was so dead that you would think they would care more about if your water was empty or idk that you wanna order dessert? but no just handed us the bill and sent us on our merry way. i could understand if they were trying to turn tables but there was so many empty booths my only conclusion is that they didnt want to work anymore. no, it was not late. around 6pm we went in and left at 6:45pm. i didnt complain about a single thing while there, i was sweet and polite. (dont need anyone spitting in my food lol i know better then to be rude) they just all looked bored and annoyed that they had customers. the food: good lord where do i start? salsa and chips are given when you get there. i measured it out. 2 TBSPs of it was given. i can guess why but i dont work there so i have REAL idea. they make it sooo hot that you dont need much. i like spice. a lot. this was too much heat. if people fill up on salsa and chips (free btw) then they wont order anything to expensive because they are already kind of full. the restaurant will be giving money away pretty much if they did it different. i guess i understand that. not cool but i get it. we didnt order apps just dinner. i got the chimichanga that came with rice, beans and it said lettuce and cheese. the rice was BLAND and HARD. there was a light red color to it so i am guessing they at least tried to cook it in something. at least it was cooked though. not mushy. the beans were old, they were so grey i was afraid to eat them. three finger pinch of cheese on it... might as well have left it off. that would be a measurement of a tsp or less. the guacamole was fresh at least. however it had to much cilantro. American cilantro. it over powered the whole thing. when i tried the bits that didnt have cilantro in it, i could tell there was no salt in it, no seasoning what-so-ever. just a smooshed avocado with cilantro. the chimichanga.... bland, dry, over cooked chicken in a barely fried tortilla. i measured it. it was 4 inch by 2 inch. nothing but the chicken was in it. not even any seasonings. at least the put the guacamole and about a teaspoons worth of sour cream. the so called lettuce and cheese.... measured that too. was 2 tablespoons of shredded lettuce (at least it was fresh and crunchy) and a two finger pinch ( about a 1/4 teaspoon) of cheese. might as well have left it off. the water had an odd taste? not sure what that was about. got a margarita. this may explain why they cheap out on everything else. they are losing money with alcohol sales. it was so strong i couldnt drink it. when the ice melted ( i got a blended one) it was like drinking watered down tequila. not pleasant. i hope they read this and fix their stuff. they could be a packed place every day if they made a few changes. the place was CLEAN i am talking really clean! even the blinds had NO DUST on them. i was surprised. the decor was great. the prices could be better for what you get but if the food was good i wouldnt have minded paying that. the workers could be more interested in the costumers, i was going to order dessert till i got the check and decided if they wanted me out that fast ill just go somewhere else for a goodie. i noticed they did this to every person around me. what was odd was they sat all of us tight together. the whole place empty. why not separate the patrons a little? what was the point of sticking us all together like that? the drinks dont need to be that strong. you will save money if you make a regular drink and sell two of them instead of one drink and sell one with the same amount of booze being charged to you. its just math. 14 bucks or 7 could go in your till. up to you. its an area that i feel this place could thrive if they tried harder. lots of places here in town with the same food but its made better. maybe do a revamp , a reopening to get attention and your sales will pick up. people will come to you instead of finding another place to eat.

Me and a friend were passing through and decided to stop at Ixtapa. They have a nice, shaded patio and we sat outside on a nice day (75 degrees). The staff were very nice, and the food was excellent. I wanted a Tex-Mex type of fix, and they delivered! Their top shelf margarita was excellent, although a bit pricey. Otherwise, Ill go back again when Im in town!

Friendly service. Im not sure about "authentic " but it was great food. I got the enchiladas w 3 sauces, with 3 different kinds of meat. All were tasty. And the hard taco I got had actually been fried here, which is hard to find sometimes. It was also 3/4 full of meat! Cranberry margarita was decent too. Definitely coming back.

We had a great meal, the food was so fresh and the service was amazing. I also had a Cadillac Marqarita which was perfectly prepared. The portions were huge, especially for the moderate pricing. We just moved here from Portland and none compare. There a blessing...in a crazy world.

This place is the best. Portions are large, food is delicious and the staff extremely polite. I called out of the blue with a request for them to put happy bday to my kid on the reader board and they DID. It was a big deal to her and made me a customer, and advertiser, for life!

By far, the worst fish taco that I have ever had: A cool flour tortilla with a small piece of fish. That was all there was. They should have been ashamed to serve that. We paid for our ( lunch ?) & we will never go back. Also, we had to shoo away flies as we tried to eat.

This Ixtapa is like others around. It is also just like Miramar. They have big portions, good food, and reasonable prices. You start off with chips and salsa while you order. You can practice your Spanish too or just speak English. This restaurant is good.

A solid choice for consistently good family stye American-Mexican food. The service is fast and the staff attentive, large portions, free chips and salsa. I sometimes wish they had spicier salsa or a more adventurous menu but its not that kind of place.

Service was slow and they were very busy. Didnt get my drink order (a Pepsi) until the food finally came out and was never visited again until asking for the bill. The food was typical quality. Overall, not worth the money.
