Complete and utter discrimination here. My husband and I are an African American couple who had recently decided to grab lunch at this branch of Hunan along with our 10 month old son. With the parking lot being empty except for 2 other cars we were expecting to find lots of seating options on the inside. Once we came in through the main door the older man at the counter looked perplexed and didn’t greet us at all.( I assume he is the owner) surprisingly a customer on the other side of the dining room door got up and opened the door for us seeing that were carrying a stroller along with our 10 month old. The owner however was still standing and watching. We asked the owner could we have a table for two and if they had a highchair? And instead of answering he replied, “ Were having line dancing at 4:30 so if you can hurry up and eat you can stay?" We were a bit confused at what he had just said, we looked around the place which was completely empty except for 2 people there one of which whom had just opened the door for us. I said to the owner, "You know what we will go somewhere else" So we left. I honestly dont see why line dancing would have anything to do with us being able to sit and eat at an establishment that was practically empty with both booth style seating and dinner table style arrangements. Plus there was no room or place we saw for line dancing. Overall, we were unwelcome and unwanted. Definitely not recommending or visiting this place ever again.

My wife and I dined here about 7pm on a Saturday and it was not crowded. Located in a nondescript shopping strip, it was much nicer inside than hinted at by the exterior. The spring rolls were excellent, light and flaky, among the best weve had; they contained ahrimp and came with an excellent dipping sauce. Egg rolls (vegetarian) were very good. My wife thought her entrée was excellent. My fried rice with beef, shrimp, pork and chicken was good, but it was steamed, sticky rice, not fried. Prices are somewhat higher than most similar Asian restaurants hereabouts but the entrée servings are large. Service was prompt, very friendly, and very courteous--certainly no one ran after us about tips and we did not encounter a cranky old man at the front desk as reported in some older reviews. Although the restrooms were very nice, they do need to do a much better job of cleaning the mens restroom floor--it was sticky everywhere.

My family and i went to Hunan of Solon 2 days ago the food was not better than any other local Chinese restaurant though it was cold and the bubble tea was nothing more than a milk shake with some frozen rice at the bottom, but the service was awful. After finishing my meal, I left a generous $10 tip because we were out with a guest. As soon as we stood up the man in the front confronted us stating that the bill didnt include gratuity, so we showed him that the tip was on the table. I guess our waitress didnt see the $10 bill so she pulled my daughter back to the table demanding that we shouldnt be so low class as to leave without tipping. I understand that they make their living off of tips, but at least check to see if theres money first before hassling someone about money they did close to nothing to earn. Regardless to say, we wont be coming back again.

My husband liked his meal very much. I am a vegetarian and there wasnt much to choose from. The staff were great and the food was served hot, but it really is overpriced. Vegetarian fried rice was $10....just for the rice alone. I ordered the vegetable lo mein which had very few vegetables. 95% noodles and it wasnt that great. I am glad I had a coupon. I wont be back but my husband said hell for sure be back for takeout.

The Wonton Soup broth was really good, the wonton dumplings were not. The food was very pricey so we had high expectations, however my chicken and broccoli was served with a weird substance on it that was just very slimey sniff unappealing and it was a very gray color. Chicken did not seem cooked nor was there any seasoning or flavor on the whole dish other than the slime.

Wow, an 18 on the Zagat scale? I definitely think the food is better than that. My wife and I come here often and weve never had a bad meal. The fried rice is different than most local places. I dont necessarily think its lighter, just different. The only downfall is the egg rolls are veggie only. Other than that, its the best Chinese in Solon by a landslide.

Authentic Chinese cooked a little differently than your typical take out. The fried rice (pork or chicken) is greasy, but very good. When we order from here we always get the sesame chicken. One time out of 30+ we had wonton soup that was not good, but every other time weve come the food has been great.

Food was great but the 2 sauces tasted like medicine. And the lady at the next table was having a graphic discussion about her surgery. But the restaurant is lovely. The service was wonderful. And the food is fantastic! I highly recommend the sesame chicken (unless you have a peanut allergy)!

Roger who is self appointed manager is rude and almost came to blows with a disabled veteran and his family. Seems they had a reservation and he refused to honor it. If NOT for ROGER ,service and food decent. Observed him in action and he is a very nasty individual.

Generally pretty consistent and is one of my favorite places for egg rolls! Im a fan of general tsos chicken and its been incredibly inconsistent over the last year. Its still yummy, but consistency would earn a 5 star rating from me.

A couple waitresses didnt seem happy at all to be there. My food came and I needed to randomly leave and it seemed like it was the end of the world that i needed my stuff packed up so i can leave. Very weird place to sit down.

They have czechuan chicken and its pretty good. Service is pretty good as well. I dont recommend the pad Thai, it was a little disappointing to get it there. It just seemed blah like it was missing something.

My family and I have tried a variety of menu choices, and we have never been disappointed. They have the best egg rolls Ive eaten in a while. A must-try restaurant!
