CASA BARRON in Perrysburg - WORST Mexican restaurant EVER! Salsa looks & tastes like Ortega from a jar, chips from a bag, frozen margarita in a shot glass, hard spanish rice, shredded sticky yellow cheese youd find on a bad salad bar, grease/oil saturated tortillas, the vegetables in the fajitas have a raw appearance but are soggy, & you PAY for the chips & salsa! Have you ever been to a Mexican restaurant where you had to pay for chips & salsa? Service was ok, if you asked for something. The waitress didnt come over throughout dinner to see if we needed anything. We had to flag down staff more than one time to ask for chips & salsa (which they never offered) & for a bowl to put the salsa in (they gave us a carafe of salsa & nothing to put it in). It may seem petty, but if you have ever been to a Real Mexican restaurant, Casa Barron is WAY below what you would ever expect. All the great & expected things I have come to love about Mexican food are missing @ Casa Barron... Great margaritas, fresh chips, homemade salsa, & plates so hot you cant touch them. The decor is average as well. It has a bar feel on both the restaurant side & the bar side. Loud atmosphere with advertisements covering all of the tables. The traditional Mexican flare & bight colors are all missing. It almost feels like a bar trying to represent a Mexican restaurant. Sadly, I had better expectations because this place was recommended by someone who had eaten at Casa Barron years ago. I am not sure what has happened over that period of time, but if you are looking for great, traditional Mexican food, you will be sadly disappointed as well.

Wow. That is what comes to mind when I reflect on the terrible experience my husband and I had tonight. I dont need to get into details about the problem with our bill but it was a $2.00 discrepancy is all and the "manager" who said he was part of the ownership family was the most unprofessional, rude piece of work I have experienced in this town. I asked him if he had read all of the terrible reviews online and he said no. Why would you not want to improve your customer service and satisfaction? We told him that he wasted so much time arguing about the $2.00 up charge that we didnt agree with that he probably gets paid more than that for the wasted time he spent. He then yelled at the waitress who was wonderful and basically told us he doesnt care if we dont come back. We left our waitress a $50 tip on a $23 dollar bill and left. The owners and managers are clueless and only survive because they have been there so long so some people are simply used to the inadequencies. Casa Barron gives Toledo restaurants a bad name and there are quality businesses that should be supported before you ever consider going here. I am almost sure that you will write your first one star review like this one.

Very sub par Mexican restaurant. It is a below average bar that serves Mexican food from the freezer section of a grocery store. The wait staff is not well trained or friendly. I mean we actually had to ask for menus. Also I have never been to a Mexican restaurant where i have to pay for chips and salsa. The appetizer we did pay for was 5 meager slices of deep fried avocado that would not have fed a toddler and the meals were over priced and far below underwhelming. I order the same thing at every Mexican restaurant I eat at because you can tell a good one by its tamales and tacos. The tamales I got were actually disgusting, and covered with plain cheddar cheese. The tamales were completely dry, flavorless, and the cheese was caked on and greasy like it was heated in a microwave. The side dish they so graciously included with my 12 dollar tamales was a half cup of Uncle Bens rice and a few shavings of lettuce and tomato. If you wanna save some money and time and eat better food...Get some taco bell.

We came in for a bite to eat and a drink before volunteering at Rock The Docks, but our service was so slow that we had to cancel our order. We complained because we waited 50 minutes and saw guests that arrived after us eating already. When the manager arrived at our table, he seemed drunk and could not handle our complaint professionally. Instead of apologizing, he justified that "burgers take a long time". So we paid for our drinks and left, hungry and disappointed. Save your time and money and go eat at cocina de carlos!

Everything served here came "pre-made" from a can or a bag and then warmed up and served. The chips and salsa are basic super market brand, the pork wasnt spiced in any seasoning and the rice and beans wouldnt qualify at a taco bell. This place is a watering hole at best. I mean...yellow cheese on a burrito? Cant imagine a scenario that involves me eating here again. The only redeeming quality is that the beer was cold and the bartender was friendly.

The food was average. One of my favorite Mexican dishes would be the Fajita Burrito. Here, you will have to pay even more to have the "Fajita" portions added. To top it off the additional peppers and onions dont even go in the burrito; they place them on top of them. Itd be like going to an ice cream shop, ordering a banana split and having to pay extra for them to add the banana. Dont waste your money and time on this place.

With a great location and plenty of seating, it is definitely an excellent choice for a family outing as many places in "Downtown Perrysburg" are tight in available room for larger parties. Definitely more "American" Mexican food than other local options, and more expensive, this is a good middle ground choice if youre looking for a blend of Bar Food quality with Mexican ingredients.

I was disappointed with this restaurant. The hostess stand is in the far end of the building and the staff congregates there and not by the entrance to greet guests. The salsa is from a can and not fresh. And its from a bad brand because it was awful. Same with the chips. We ended up not ordering dinner and just finished our drinks and went to another restaurant.

Ive never been to a Mexican restaurant that not give chips with your meal. Nor any kind of salsa or hot sauce with your tacos. The rice was so hard it was crunchy. The beans had way to much salt. Maybe Im spoiled living in Chicago. But food was barely eatable and for trying to be a cool downtown place. I wouldnt recommend this place. No limes even with my tacos.

Disappointing food & service. Save yourself time, money and frustration and go elsewhere. We beat dinner rush by an hour and felt completely neglected by our server the entire time. Even when he did finally make it around to our table, we never once had his full attention. The food was very forgetful, and bland.

5 stars for the margaritas and the staff. There are only a couple of entrées I order but between you, me and Google, the burgers are great. Go figure. If youre looking to relax on a patio and drink top notch margs with friends, this is it.
