I have been a loyal Mandrin fan for about 13 years now. The chicken wontons in the soup are delicate and delicious. The broth is served hot and it has the appropriate flavor. A hot kettle of green tea is also served with your meal. It is my favorite green tea in the world, and it, along with the great won-ton soup are complimentary when you order an entree. I highly suggest you order an egg roll. They are delightful. These treats are served with hot mustard and a sweet red chunky sauce that is so very, very great.. I order the chicken lo me in with fried rice. It was the first thing I ordered 13 years ago, and the execution was so perfect that i cannot bring myself to cheat on this delicacy. I have to remain loyal because all the other chicken lo me in ive had elsewhere is a very distant second place. The meals are served very fast by the friendliest wait staff ever. If the young lady with European descent is there, she will take on every table in the place like a boss. The owner lady who usually conducts transactions at the door is maybe one of the sweetest, most accommodating human being on earth, certainly in Oberlin. After working in Oberlin for over a decade and making Mandarin a staple of my weekly diet, I NIW return to Oberlin from time to time to visit Mandarin exclusively. Months may pass between visits now, but those ladies still have my order preferences memorized. Because of these reasons and more, I name the Mandarin as one of my lifetime favorite eateries. Certainly at the top of my Asian fare list.

Food is not bad,but I cant stand the racist people who work there. Ive never done anything to these folks. I always check myself at the door and Im extremely polite when I talk to them. No matter how polite I am they make sure to let me know they dont care for my black Business . They even start altercations with my kids. I will make sure never to support this racist restaurant and would love for a opportunity to cuss theses people tf out.Thinking of going here for lunch today and recording the conversation to show how rude they are and sue the mess out of their flat butts

Extremely rude, my boyfriend ordered beef lo mein since they would not subsitute fried rice for lo mein. When we got home to eat the lo mein was plain, so I drove back up there and the "owner" argued with me. What happened to the customer is always right? I can go to the dollar store and boil a whole pot of noodles for a dollar rather than get a half cup of overcooked pasta for a dollar. Ive never been to a chinese resturaunt where they gave you plain lo mein!

Excellent food, horrendous service. At the end of the night, after me and my party had eaten, the woman ringing us out insulted me for not tipping enough. The woman at the counter literally shook her head and said, "Bad tip." I tipped all that I had on me and this is how Im treated? I appreciate the meal, it was delicious. But that interaction has left such a poor taste in my mouth that I will not be coming back. I advise you dont as well.

A wonderful restaurant. The staff are friendly, the food is excellent, and the portions are generous. The sushi is made fresh when you order, and is good, and I would definitely recommend the General Tsos Chicken (which can be made extra spicy upon request). A must visit restaurant for those looking for good Chinese food in the area.

The owner is so cute and polite she always asks how things are goint. This is what makes a local Chinese place. If you sit in for lunch specials, it includes tea and a soup of your choice. General tsos extra spicy is where its at!
