Ive passed this place a million times, but never stopped in because Im not a fan of spicy food (which seemed to be indicated by the logo (a flame dots the i in Chilango). It was a friends turn to pick a restaurant and Im glad she picked this one! I had the tacos plate--there are 3 solft corn tacos. I chose one of each of the first 3 on the blackboard. There was a pork belly with pink onions on top, which was very good and not too spicy, a shredded beef with crumbled white cheese, which was awesome, also not spicy, and a pulled pork with slaw, which was delicious, but had a chili oil drizzle that I had to eat around (next time Ill request it without the oil). My picky friend had the empanadas (there are 2), which she said were delicious. (She had the meat ones, but I noticed the other type of empanadas were vegetarian. There might be other items on the menu that are, but I was hurrying to order so not sure.) We had the hibiscus tea (tart-sweet, almost a juice, and very refreshing). They serve some alcohol, too. We also split a salsa and chips. The salsa bar was good--something for everyone with some hot, some sweet, some zesty. Were both fairly big eaters for girls, but left there stuffed and couldnt quite finish everything. Total bill was $24, which I thought was very reasonable--the basic meals were around $8-9 each, salsa bar was about $3, so the drinks must have been about $2.25 each. You can sit outside, but it is close to a fairly busy road (although most outside dining is these days). But inside was pleasant with some interesting, not too loud, world-type music playing. We both agreed our spouses would like the place and are anxious to try other menu items.

What a fantastic place! Super happy we tried it (thanks to a recommendation from my wifes friend). Its one of those places where the menu is written on the chalkboard, you just order as soon as you come in, and you seat yourself. It was very quick to get the food (they bring it to you) and the combination tacos that I got were absolutely fantastic. The chochinita pibil tacos were my favorite. My wife and son were impressed too. All of the ingredients tasted very fresh to me. It reminds me of a modern Taqueria in Austin with a pleasant dining area, unpretentious atmosphere, and very clean, new furnishings. What a treat to have it here in Landen! Savvy people from Kings Island or Great Wolf will come here I imagine. Located in a nice area too.

I was excited to try this place but now I wish did not. I ordered two chicken tacos and one chorizo taco. The first chicken taco was ok. Then came the chorizo taco and it was awful- tasted like someone dumped a gallon of pepper on it. The salsa bar is a nice touch but I could tell by the taste everything has been sitting out for a while. It was $14 for just myself- 3 regular size tacos, a 16 oz coke and chips/salsa. Never again. Dont waste your $$$

Great little Restaurant. Everything is very clean, the staff is amazing and so very friendly. Ive been here several times now and have never had anything I didnt like. I especially loved the thick and crunchy authentic chips and all the house made salsas to choose from. But trust me, if you havent yet gone here for the pork belly tacos then you dont know what youre missing! They are AMAZING. One of the best things Ive ever ate ANYWHERE.

It was a $14 bill for just me to eat. I had chicken enchiladas which came with watered-down beans and so-so rice. Also they had a salsa bar but did not serve chips with the $14 meal. I wont be going back. I would have given it zero stars but the lowest option was one star. Ive eaten Mexican all over the country and have a lot of data points to compare this to so dont waste your money or your time eating here.

LOVE street tacos and tried three kinds on their combo plate: braised beef, pork belly and roasted poblano. Now, Im not a vegetarian enthusiast, but the roasted poblano was MUY tasty! Almost as good as the pork belly, but a serious complement, without question. Avocado tomatilla salsa and pico were the best of the salsas we tried. Wife had flautas; very good as well.

Excellent tacos and empanadas. Tacos reminiscent of Bakersfield in OTR, however more of a suburban fast-food atmosphere. Hopefully can expand empanadas filling selections as time goes on. Margaritas were good if a little small for $7. Overall really enjoyed the food and will be back.

Bland food, the taco shells tasted like the cheap no flavor kind you get at the store. bad atmosphere, what kind of mexican restaurant has you stand at the counter to order? The taco meat had a bad taste and was processed to the point of not resembling beef.

The potato and chorizo tacos are a slice of heaven. If you still have room try the braised beef empanada...so good!! I moved here from the Chicago area 9 months ago and this is one of the best meals Ive had since then.

Amazing experience every single time the multiple times I have been there! Margaritas were made fresh and quite amazing and I have enjoyed the variety of different menu options. The salsa bar is totally worth it, too!

Great taco bar with 7 plus varieties (pretty belly is my favorite). Also have enchiladas and flautas. Homemade margaritas and Mexican beer and it is a great time out or an awesome lunch! Highly recommended!

Excellent food! Was surprised to find out it wasnt a chain as nice as the interior/branding looked. Staff was very nice. A great locally owned restaurant that my family will definitely visit again.
