Its difficult for me to rate this place because I absolutely love the food and often find myself craving some A&W... That being said, I know several people who have worked here before and have even ran into strangers that at some point in conversation have mentioned working here before and the consensus is unanimous - the management/owner are absolutely awful to work for and just the meanest rudest bosses imaginable. I find myself feeling guilty for giving A&W my business every time I go here. I actually went yesterday for the first time this year, and while the gal working the drive-thru was extremely nice and pleasant, I ordered 2 Coney dogs and waited over 15 minutes. It was pretty ridiculous. I guess at the end of the day I cant say Ill never eat here again, but Ill definitely NEVER work here!

This A&W restaurant, along with very few others, is an American staple. Its really sad to see them disappear. This restaurant in particular has friendly, well-trained staff. The food is delicious. Its a little on the pricey side. I paid $18 for A bacon double cheeseburger, bacon cheeseburger, fries, cheese curds, and two drinks. Its totally worth the money. The A&W root beer is just better at the restaurant. The Wisconsin white cheddar cheese curds are a nice departure from the fried mozzarella that everyone else carries. If you happen across one of these drive-in A&Ws, do yourself a favor. Stop and enjoy a piece of America. Also, try the corn dog nuggets and let me know how they are.

A&W is one of those places that takes you back to a simpler time. Ive always enjoyed their burgers, hot dogs, fries, onion rings, rootbeer and floats. The menu is classic Americana. My favorite are coney dogs (chilli sauce topped really good with onions added) and kraut dogs (sourkraut, I recommend mustard and onion aka NY style). Rootbeer here is perfect. It comes in a glass mug, is cold, refreshing, and really completes the whole package. We always make sure to stop in on rootbeer float day to enjoy a treat. I recently tried their cheese curds and highly enjoyed them. If you bring coupons you must present while ordering or they will not accept them.

this place is a scam!!! I ordered a bacon double cheese burger meal with a large root beer and a chicken nugget meal with a Pepsi and sub onion rings. I recieved and payed for my food and had to come back because my frys were missing. When I got there my server went to her boss and her boss had her bring out a receipt of my bill stating I never ordered frys when my bill clearly showed a combo with a root beer. I was told I would have to pay more for frys I already paid for!!!! I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS PLACE AGAIN!!!! Plus I will tell every one I know about this scam!!!

I am new to the Ohio area and stumbled upon this AMAZING location. Great staff , service and food Manager even came out to say hi and ask us how our might has been. We live 1.5 hours away and will DEFINITELY making return visits to this location. They are family owned passed down thru generations. Everyone there takes pride in what they do and shows!. This is a MUST stop location for anyone in or traveling through the Kent, OH area. Brought back many great memories of going to A&W stand when I was a kid.

The greater Akron area is very lucky to have not one but three old fashioned drive in A&Ws still in operation. This is one of them. Service was attentive. Cheese curds fried to perfection. However, same as at the Ravenna, OH location, I must say I was disappointed by the root beer itself on the day I visited (May 20). It had the basic flavor profile of draft A&W root beer, but it just wasnt it. It had very little foam and lacked the quintessential creaminess, intense sweetness and vanilla taste.

I like to call this place double A double U because and begins with the letter a and the letter w is like two of the letter u. You eat in your car at this place, so the staff doesnt have to clean up after you. Everyone I know feels fine after eating here but I get a slight tum-tum ache. My mom always says I have a weak stomach. But what does she know? She says I am to old to wear my Superman onesies while I watch wrestling as I sip beer from a baby bottle while laying down in my racecar bed.

We visited Monday with a group of residents from The Briarwood Nursing Home in Stow, Ohio. With our passenger bus a total of 9 people in it. All giving separate orders and paying separately. We were served rather quickly and efficiently. They provided us with all the condiments and everything necessary for our lunch. The residents really enjoyed their time here and of course the food was delicious. Thank you.

We stopped here on the way home from a rocketry event mainly because it had been years since Id seen an A&W. Three big burgers, a hot dog, and four large root beers in immense mugs cost me just over $10 and fed a van full of hungry men and boys, none of whom had anything but good to say about the meal. Ill make a special trip to visit this one if the opportunity ever arises again.

Horrible service and the manager is completely rude. We waited 10 minutes for service. Other people would pull up and get attented to except us. So we went into complain and order our food since we werent getting helped and the manager yelled at me and gave me complete attitude. Disrespectful. If your so busy on the weekend maybe you should have more staff.

Slow service and no service really at all! Heather was slow didnt pay attention to us when we had our lights on. If we get her again we will ask for a different server! We are regular customers at A&W and this is the 3rd time we had Heather same thing over and over again! We had crunchy/hard buns for our coney dogs. NOT a pleasent visit.

Just stand there cleaning windows and counters without any regard to customer waiting at drive thru. Never got what we ordered got tired and drove off. Great people manager hired NOT. Wont come here again.

Service was fast and friendly, but food was exactly what you would expect from a drive in. Not amazing, but perfect to suit that craving. A particular standout are the cheese curds, super tasty, and great texture. I would definitely visit again, but sparingly.

This is probably the kind of place you had to grow up eating to truly enjoy it. If you grew up in the Kent area, nothing beats an A&W Coney Dog (with onion) and a glass of root beer. If you havent had it before, you may wonder what all the fuss is about.

I think its a great inexpensive place to eat. The owner is always there and the staff never forgets about me. After experiencing the service for a while. Im sure youll agree its the best bargain around. So tipp WELL.

Always a good change in pace to go to a drive-in. Delicious rootbeer, slightly above-average burgers and sides. Decent pricing, and upbeat staff with quick service. Worth a stop if your hungry for a quick bite
