This was my first coffee shop stop since moving to the area. It has your "typical" coffee shop feel, not that there is anything wrong with that, not at all. I ordered a macchiato, my to-go drink when trying out new places. It was good and tasted right, no burnt aftertaste or the milk masking the flavor of the coffee. The presentation was a little underwhelming, however, with the dirty/dusty cup and saucer. The shop offers a bigger room in the back where it is a little more quiet I believe. Overall, a nice place. I can directly compare to Press Coffee basically just down the street, which I preferred more, but to each of their own. I will still come back to this one without a doubt, their specials sounded very interesting!

Ghost light cafe is my very favorite cafe. It has an amazing feel, and everyone is so friendly. I love the old building the cafe resides in. I personally think its fun to bring a book or a drawing pad on a snowy or rainy day. I recommend this place to EVERYONE! Its cozy and a great place to sip on something good while catching up with friends. 100 percent amazing. ALSO, this place was once a grocery store in the early 1900s. After you pay and you move to the waiting line for coffee, look to your left. There is a photo of the inside of the grocery store hanging on the wall. :-) Check it out.

Came in for the first time April 1, 2017. Greeted by a very nice gentlemen, Jake. He was very genuine, calm, and truly himself. I asked for his recommendation on a cup of coffee, and served me his favorite. He also asked if I needed to eat any breakfast (very polite). I looked, tons of yummy looking baked goods. I decided on the oatmeal, which was just perfect. This is an amazing locally owned coffee shop, which I wish we had more around like it. Come in by yourself, or with friends, and enjoy.

Excellent coffee. They definitely know what they are doing. However, the hipster behind the counter was utterly useless and wouldnt take my order. I stood there, ignored, until the barista noticed and took care of me directly. Yes, places get busy. However, it wasnt slammed. I was a barista for 15 years, and had my own shop for several of those. Basically, come here for the java and the cool building- not the warm fuzzy people.

The quality of the coffee and the service I received is always excellent. Sometimes I want just a basic coffee other times I want something more and they provide that every time. I also enjoy their variety of baked goods and sandwiches. The atmosphere is unique and very comfortable, I prefer Ghostlight coffee Over a traditional chain because they seem to always work harder to make my experience terrific!

There were 3 guys working behind the counter, only one order in front of me, & it still took them 20 minutes to get my order done because they were too busy talking to each other. When I was finally served, my iced Chai latte that I ordered came out as a hot Chai- no ice & no milk. It was disgusting but I was so disgusted by their poor service that I just threw it away and left. Never again.

Great variety of coffee sourced from some of the best small-batch roasters in the nation. The staff is very well trained and friendly. The espresso drinks are decent, though the blend of coffee that is used could be a little better imo. The seating isnt phenomenally comfortable, but the atmosphere is nice. Would go there more often if not for the distance from my house.

Awesome place all around. Not a a lot of indoor space or parking for the crowds that come here and there is often a line so be prepared. But excellent coffee, a wonderful selection of pastries (most are vegan), and some local products as well (t-shirts, jam/jelly, honey, etc.). Definitely should have come here sooner but I can see what all the hype is about.

Had the lumberjack there (16 oz has 3 shots of expresso) and I was wired for hours. Great atmosphere, great employees and overall one of the better coffee shops that I have been to. This is for sure a great choice for those looking to support small Dayton businesses and of course a great choice for the coffee.

This place has the best chai latte soy milk in town. Im quite strict with my chai latte. It cant be too sweet. I normally always have to adjust my level of chai to balance it out. Ghostlight did theirs perfectly without any specification. Also enjoy their couches for an afternoon reading a good book.

By far the best local coffee shop in Dayton. Ive been coming here for years and not once have I had a bad experience. The staff know their coffee and teas. If youre in the area and looking for a great place to go, hangout and have a wonderful coffee shop experience. Then you must stop here!!!

Unique atmosphere and very low-key. I like the gentrified building, the interior decorations and the local Dayton focus. The drinks are tasty and the business feels modern with staff that are tech-savvy. Free wifi and a quiet study area! Walk in and see 12 MacBooks on the tables

Not sure what is up with the barista here. She is always very rude with me. I try and support a neighborhood business but it is always a horrible experience when she is there. The other employees are great. Beware the blond barista with glasses! The soup nazi has nothing on her.

Some of the best dang coffee in town, not to mention customer service and atmosphere! Ghostlight is an inviting space with plenty of room to get coffee with your friends and relax. If you havent gone to this Dayton Gem! Your totally missing out!! Dont forget to get a stamp card!

Great coffee plus ambiance. I could sit here soaking it up all day. Cozy enough to feel like home, but big enough I can usually find a seat by the window. I enjoy trying their creative latte concoctions, and thus far have found no reason to resist the baked goods on offer.

Perfect atmosphere, great coffee, and plenty of amazing teas for those who dont want coffee. They also have sodas made in-house in interesting favors. Best of all, the shop is locally owned by a native Daytonian, and all of the coffee is locally roasted in Ohio.

I found this coffee shop to be a bit too hipster and a bit too cramped. It has nooks to sit in but the service line is set up in such a way as to always be in the way. The coffee was okay--not great but not bad although for the money and hassle Id hope for more.

Seemed to be a great spot. Packed to the front when I arrived around 3:00 Sunday afternoon, mostly kids studying. Extra seating in the back however.. Pour over I order was timely, done correctly and tasted right. Very local coffee shop feel. I can recommend.

I really enjoy the coffee and atmosphere. The local baked goods are delicious. Although Ive been in there at least 15 times, however, I feel like the folks there dont recognize me and often dont seem particularly friendly towards me. Thus my 4-star rating.

Nice place, great atmosphere. I dont drink coffee so I cant comment on the quality but just speaking on the decor and atmosphere it seems like a nice place to hang out and do some work. Nice soft couches in the back. Free wifi is always appreciated.
