I have worked near this place for three years now and have passed by without coming in. I love Krispy Kreme and the Tim Hortons of the world have left a foul taste in my mouth, so until today, I have been in the presence of greatness while being completely ignorant to it. Do you love America? Are you nostalgic for times that seemed simpler and pleasant? Do you like delicious and consistent diner food? Do you f$#@ing love yourself some donuts? If you answered yes to any of these questions and you havent been here yet, you are doing yourself, your family, your ancestors, your offspring and your countrymen a gross disservice and you should rectify this immediately. Pete, the owner, looked up from preparing food to thank another gentleman and I for walking in. When he overheard me saying it was my first time, he came over and shook my hand like a man and introduced himself and gave me a menu, informing me if you call ahead they can basically do whatever you need. "Home made donuts for as long as I live" were his last words to me as he went back to the kitchen. I love this f&%#@ing country. The man loves to make donuts and diner food so he sets up shop and makes good food. He stays there for years, which turn into decades. People of all walks of life come in to try it. Regulars show up every day. Famous people take pictures with Pete and adorn the walls; an homage to 20th century Americana. Just standing in there feels great. But havent even gotten to the best part, yet. I bought like 16 donuts. And a large coffee. The donuts had to endure a car ride and a long walk through cold weather, so I was prepared for them to be mediocre and Id have to come back when they were fresh to give the place another shot. I broke off a piece of the blueberry cake donut... "oh my... thats.. thats... mmmmmmm.." I thought, as copious amounts of endorphins flooded my bloodstream. I took a bite of the braided twist and immediately punched the concrete wall near me 4 times with each fist in rapid succession then continued eating it while making sounds that almost assuredly would have warranted a drug screen or a sexual harassment lawsuit at the very least. Its obvious that Pete knows what the f$@% he is doing and its obvious that he loves the f@ out of what he does. I know Ive found a new tradition in my life. Its a safe bet that Pete will be around for the next 50 years..

Out of the way unless you know where youre going. Use your GPS if necessary but just try it....youll agree its a terrific hidden jewel. No advertising. PETE DOESNT NEED TO ADVERTISE!! One visit and youll be convinced that the drive to the South End, Lockbourne Road, is very much worth the effort. I have no clue about the preparation of Petes biscuits and gravy; I just attest to the fact that it is more than likely the absolute best biscuits and gravy in town. CASH ONLY! Thats my biggest concern. I never carry green paper money so thats a difficult thing for met to remember about Petes Golden Donuts Diner. Portions are county sized, priced like a southern diner. DONUTS! Made fresh daily. Daily specials! Service is attentive, professional, welcoming amd most of all personal. Grab some green and head down....No disappointing aspect at all!

Records on the wall, smiles on faces, apple fritter in belly: this is a pleasant place. The music is funky and fun and sets an atmosphere that makes one feel groovy. The food all looks simple and well prepared. The prices are right too. This is the epitome of an old time diner and I would recommend it for anyone looking for one. My only complaint is that for travelers it is out of the way and the neighborhood is not the best, though it doesnt feel unsafe.

Went there to try because I love a good donut diner and loved it. Staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. Food is priced very well and you will walk out stuffed. Donuts are light and fluffy and I will definitely be making the trip out again. This place is a true diner and I will recommend to my friends.

Everything was amazing. The coffee was great. The food was amazing. The tunes were out of this world. The Golden Buster, consisting of potatoes, cheese, ham, gravy and eggs was to die for. The donuts are made in the back and are awesome too. I cant wait to come back.
