This is my favorite brunch place. Upon entering, you take a clipboard and peruse the menu while you wait in line to place your order. If the line goes to the outside door, dont fret: things move along smoothly and it usually takes about 15 minutes. When you approach the counter, try not to salivate at the bakery items. One thing gets me every time: its a cookie with chocolate and cornflakes in it and it is soooo good. Split it with a friend and youll both be happy. :) Then youll approach the register and place your order; youll be given a number (on a stand), glass for your drink (serve yourself at the drink station) and you can seat yourself at an available table or booth (near the windows is nice because you can people-watch). The menu item Ive yet to stray from is the Chicken Tinga. Tostada, chicken, over-easy eggs (I get mine scrambled) and tomatillo. It. Is. Delicious. Flavorful, with the right amount of tang from the tomatillo. My bestie and I usually share a side of lemon ricotta pancakes, too, so we can enjoy something sweet to offset the savory. The pancakes are served with some fruit on top and, in my opinion, are so good they dont need syrup! And lemony flavor makes you feel like youre eating a light lemon cupcake. Try Maplewood for brunch; its like heaven.

My husband and I have eaten at Maplewood twice, both times for brunch. The experience was nothing like a typical brunch place-beginning as soon as you walk in the door. At Maplewood, you do not sit down to order your food- instead, you wait in line and order at the counter before finding a table. The first visit, the line for ordering was right out the door. I was ready to call it quits because we didnt have an hour to wait in line. However, right at the front door, there was a small bar where a woman was making mimosas and bloody marys for the people waiting in line! After that, the wait didnt seem so bad :) We did order and sit down (after waiting about 20 minutes), then our food was delivered about 10 minutes later. During both visits, the food was amazing! The first trip, I ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes and several mimosas. The most recent time, I ordered the Greek yogurt, a side of pancakes, and the house blend coffee. My brunch companions ordered veggie burgers, steak and eggs, and chicken club sandwiches. Across the board, everyone said their food was outstanding! I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Cincinnati!

I was so impressed with this place. The decor is super modern with an earthy touch to it. Very clean and cute. Now the food...was just to die for. Everything on their menu is what you can expect from any typical brunch spot but not the way they make it here. Everything here has a very unique twist to it and sometimes it may not sound very tasty but everything went above and beyond my imaginations. I ordered the avocado Benedict which came with the perfect touch of lemon and herb emulsion. The sauce that comes on the plate went perfect with the eggs avocado asparagus and toast. I also ordered the goetta. My boyfriend ordered the bistro steak and eggs. He said it was cooked to perfection. We also ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes. I know this sounds weird and we both hate ricotta BUT you cant taste it it just makes the pancakes super fluffy and light...amazing with the berry compote that it comes with. We had the sweet green and soul glo mimosa. They were so pretty I didnt want to drink it. Id come here everyday if I could.

We will have eaten there 4 times in 4 days, by the time I go home. There are multiple restaurants, but I cant help that I want to try as many items in the menu. The food is fresh, delicious, and all the flavors blend in a way that gives it a natural taste without any one flavor overpowering. However, each entree has a distinct taste that I have tasted nowhere else, and I travel just to eat at great restaurants. The staff is friendly and very attentive although the atmosphere is laid back. Definitely a restaurant full of teams players which leads to long-lasting success! You cant NOT go there if you visit Cincy!!!

Unfortunately Im not on the Maplewood train as much as everyone else. First there are some really good positives: The staff is amazing and friendly, the atmosphere and look/feel is well done, the order-at-counter and then sit method is new and fresh. Now the less good: The spicy chicken sandwich was not good. The bread was hard and cold, and the meat was not spicy or tasty... that one needs reworked! The burger was decent, but cooked well done (no matter what you request, tried twice...). The breakfast saved the place for me - interesting options and everything was pretty solid that we tried.

Good food but bad service at the bar. We had a girl with light brown hair and glasses ( messy bun on her head) who was spilling everything, rude, and argued with us when we wanted to swap out a side salad for pancakes (we even said wed pay more). She left to ask a manager but instead went straight to another waitress to take care of us bc she didnt want to. That waitress was actually nice and said it wasnt a problem. Lets say we didnt feel taken care of. She had been rude to a few others so we werent the only ones. Good breakfast, a little over priced. We like the lunch/dinner better.

This was the best breakfast I ever had. I had the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon, and orange juice. The Pancakes were light and fluffy and full of lemon flavor. Everything was so fresh and definitely filling. I had leftovers for later. The ambiance was marvelous, very upbeat. The food and service were superb. I dont live in Cincinnati, but when they open up for dinner I may take a weekend trip there just to savour the delectable flavors. I highly recommend this place for a great experience full circle. You get it all at Maplewood Kitchen and Bar.

This is the best restaurant in cincinnati, hands down. The lost art of fine dine has been brought to life here at Orchids. The menu is so creative and you will be able to try some very hard to come by dishes. Love love love this place. Try the five course option, $75 and you will walk out feeling like you just had a total food adventure! The ambiance of the restaurant is not to be dismissed as ordinary. One of the most beautiful spaces in cincinnati! Pere, our server, was knowledgeable and attentive. Another great experience! Thank you Orchids!

Wonderful food and a nice interior. Reminds me of the North Star cafe setup with regards to ordering and getting drinks. The iced latte was delicious! We also loved the fries and hashbrown - so flavorful. The hamburger was ok, but my partner thought theyd order something else next time. The veggie burger was very good and worth a repeat. Skip the lemon cookie. Its ok, but too dry and cakey for our tastes. It does get busy around lunch time but we had just made it before the crowds and got our food quickly.
