We ate here during our stay at the Cape Hatteras KOA due to its convenient proximity to the campground. I really wanted to like this place a bit more. Service: It was okay... nothing spectacular. I get the impression that the staff wasnt really interested in whether we were satisfied or not. They were polite but not friendly if that makes any sense. Food: The fish tacos (fried) were outstanding. We did not try the grilled ones, so I cant speak to those. I ordered a tuna steak sandwich and was pretty disappointed. I would have expected to get a better piece of tuna on the outer banks. It was easily the worst piece of tuna that I have ever eaten (I eat a lot of tuna). I dont mean that it tasted bad, it just didnt have any flavor at all. Also, it was so undercooked that it was cold in the middle. I have eaten plenty of raw and rare tuna, I just wasnt expecting it in this case. They didnt ask how I wanted it cooked so I was expecting it to be somewhere between a medium and well done. This thing was just straight up rare. I should have asked to have it cooked a little bit more. I wouldnt have minded it being rare if it had been of a higher quality, but this thing was like eating a cold, flavorless protein mush. Lesson learned. Price: We ordered one crispy chicken wrap, one order of fish tacos, one tuna steak sandwich and some cokes. The total was $52.06 before the tip. This seems high to me, but it is probably average for a seasonal resort area. The place was well lit, clean and had a very comfortable relaxing atmosphere. We dined inside, even though the have outdoor seating as we had been outside all day and just wanted to enjoy a little air conditioning. I probably wont be going back. If I ever do, I definitely wont be ordering tuna.

I looked forward to eating at this Cafe as we rented house in Salvo with great enthusiasm as the reviews were positive and the location and setup of place looks very nice. I was hoping with cafe in the name it would match food quality to cafe like places in Manuel Antonio. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with both my breakfast and dinner. The moment I saw plastic silverware and water served in disposable glass I felt the place uses short and easy methods to run the place. The breakfast potatoes are typical frozen potatoes we find in grocery store with too much salt already sprinkled on them. French toast was the driest I ever ate. Fish tacos very bland and ordinary. Very disappointed except for friendly lady who took the order and served.

We tried this place for both breakfast and dinner. Once you present your dining coupon, the prices they charge do not match menu prices. It essentially makes the 15% coupon worthless. For dinner, my wife had a spider crawl out from underneath her chicken sandwich. For breakfast, we ended up paying $2.59 for black coffee that the menu had listed for $1.99 then only to find out they dont even offer refills. We read the reviews and thought this would be a perfect place but we were wrong. We found other places in the area we enjoyed much more. We will not be returning to this place.

Granted, I only ordered a bacon cheeseburger, but I was still pleasantly surprised with the food and the service. The staff was very kind to us, and the quickness with which they got the food to us was great. Flat panel TVs in the dining area were tuned to ESPN, which was nice. Very laid-back atmosphere and good prices to boot. They even remembered to put the BBQ sauce on the burger like I requested (youd be surprised at how many places forget). Ill definitely be stopping by the next time Im in town. Maybe Ill venture out and try some seafood too!

Very many menu options but I guess that I chose the worst one. Paid $27 for the seafood platter with 2 waters... half the plate was occupied by sweet potato fries and cole slaw. The seafood was 4 shrimp, 1 small piece of fish, 5 oysters and 1 crab cake. Plastic utensils. Taste was ok but fried food usually is. I never have written a bad review before but this experience warrants it. Awful experience with the girl up front too busy staring at her hands to say bye as we walked out.

Breakfast was good (first morning after 12 hr bike ride getting to Rodanthe), tho a lil high $ for the sandwich I had. But it is a vacation town, sooo... Small, quaint, inside & outside served. Family outside brought their pooch along for the fun. Being across from KOA, I imagine a lot of family activity visits here. Im sure Ill visit again before the week is up.

My wife ordered a shrimp basket and received a fish basket. We ordered water expecting ice water and found out after asking we had to get water out of a water cooler without any ice. I received a seafood platter with 3/4 of a platter of coleslaw and sweet potatoe fries that I didnt order. I will say that what food I had on my platter that I ordered was good.

Its deli style so you walk in, order and seat yourself in spartan surroundings. Service was good for what it was. Food was very good and of high quality. Dont come here for a nice meal with atmosphere and ocean views because it has none of that. If your are looking for a decent sandwich at a reasonable price with little fanfare they wont disappoint.

I ordered take out from here a couple days ago. The food was very good and well seasoned, though a little pricey for lunch. The last who took my order was very nice and brought the good to me when it was ready. The wifi was an awesome feature while you wait. The coffee was really good and the atmosphere was laid back. Definitely recommend!

Stopped for dinner after a long days driving to the outer banks. Paid almost $50 for a shrimp dinner and a dinner salad. No waiter; you ordered up at the counter. They were out of Coke products. For $14 for the dinner salad I expected a real wow salad. Putting some alfalfa sprouts on a salad doesnt make it special.

Stayed in Salvo last Sept.,and coming back this Oct. I loved Fish Tacos, and best Java around. Wife loved some kind of Raspberry Chai concoction, and granddaughters are still talking about the Fish Tacos. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner the best in area. See you folks soon....

This is where you go to grab something quick and easy. I wouldnt say theyre cheap by any means though. My husband and I got a lemonade, iced coffee, chicken tenders basket& a mahi salad that totaled $40 Atmosphere is nonexistent but food was decent.

One of the best fish tacos Ive had. The hard shell on the inside of the soft shell was pure brilliance! The pico was fresh and the Mahi Mahi cooked to perfection. Highly recommend and easily the best restaurant in a 45 mile radius!
