Pros: -Servers were nice and competent. We had a party of 9 and they did a great job keep everything in order and checking in when folks reached the bottom third of their brews. This was on a night that appeared to be at capacity. So bravo to the ladies, theyve got chops and these stars are for them. Cons: - Prices. I know the rents probably pretty high in North Hills or Midtown or whatever kitchy acronym the redeveloper wants to call this neighborhood, but $8 for a pint of Guinness? - Food. I went there hungry, ordered a snack. Wish I had left the place hungry (although to be fair, unlike the beer the food is priced somewhat fairly, even factoring in the fact that it tasted like dog food) - Atmosphere. Experience of a chain. If you like the sensation that being in a room that is indistinguishable from a TGIF or Applebees then you may like this place. Im sure most folks like going to a bar that has 40 televisions blasting, but given last nights sports concerned re-runs of a UEFA match-up, re-run from the Coney Island hot dog competition, and live Canadian Football (not starting the Sasketchewan Roughriders or the Argos even) my eyes were pretty sore. Oh, and the music absolutely sucks and is loud. Remember those repetitious 80s hits like Electric Avenue? How would you like to go to a bar that blasts that at 130 dB? It was great seeing my friends last night, but only conversed with the two that were immediately adjacent to me, as none of us know American Sign Language.

Myself, my fiance, my sister, and her fiance went to World of Beer this past weekend for dinner and drinks. Our server was very, very scatter - brained and kind of "all over the place". He told my fiance they didnt carry a certain beer then my fiance opened up the beer list and that beer was on the list. Turned out they did have it. Then my sister ordered a a beer and was given the wrong beer. Wasnt even close either.. The whole time theyre trying to get their beers situated, Im pregnant and simply asked for a water and the server finally brought me my water AFTER he brought and fixed all their beers orders. I couldnt believe it. Then we ordered food. No one else in the building was eating food, literally... Took them about 45 minutes to bring our food out. 3 out of the 4 orders were wrong and had to be sent back... The 3 of them that were drinking also had to sit there for a good 10 minutes with empty beers until the server notice... and like I said, they werent even busy at all. Not to mention the music was extremely loud, we couldnt even hold a conversation. And the music choice was very juvenile and kind of "ghetto". We wont be going back here again...

Went to wob, Raleigh for the 1st time and I was VERY excited to go. Unfortunately my expectations we not met at all. As an amateur beer conneseur I was excited to eat and try some various beers. Tried to order and it took me four trys to get a beer they actually had. My wife(not a beer drinker) ordered a pbr and the bar tender mocked her for ordering it??!! Could go on about my bad expierence but I will sum up by stating that this is by far the worst bar in Raleigh. I would suggest the flying saucer for this type of multiple beer selections. They actually respect their customer and capture the feel of a world beer selection bar!

Would not recommend. My gf and I have been to this location twice. The first time wasnt anything special, but we thought we would try it again. Mistake. Waiters/waitresses were completely unorganized. We were waiting for approximately 15 minutes before a waitress (who was not our waitress) came up to us and apologized that our waiter hadnt had a chance to get us drinks. She then asked if we knew what we wanted. When we answered yes she didnt take our order but asked if she could take our menus to bring to other customers because they were out. We left.

I went there wanting to like it, but was rather disappointed. The selection of beers is excellent, but found that some of the bottled beers were more than twice as expensive as Bob and Sherees Wine Shop. As an example, New Holland Dragons Milk is $6.00/bottle at B&S ($18.99/4-pack); $12.50/bottle at WoB. In addition, the woman who waited on me at the bar was the least engaging and most totalling disinterested bartender that I have encountered. Hopefully, it is just growing pains. Guess Ill see if I decide to go back.

Very unusual place. They have a huge array of bottled beers and some good specials. The blonde larger build bartender seemed extremely annoyed by any and all questions we had. The brunette bartender was way more attentive and friendly but seemed a bit new and when asking questions to the other one was treated rudely as well. We ordered wings and didnt get the right order. More were brought out. Certain staff could benefit from smiling or engaging with customers...

Its a bit small for the theme theyre going for, so while it was not an issue when we went, I would definitely feel cramped if they had a full house. Beer selection is great, and my wife loved the flatbread. I myself found the mac-n-cheese dog to be nothing short of heaven on a bun. Staff seems to be hit or miss. Weve been twice and the first time our waiter was very attentive and the second time we thought our waiter forgot about us several times throughout the night.

We had a going away get together for a friend leaving our company. The folks at World of Beer were wonderful and accommodating for our last minute get together where we didnt know how many folks would be showing up (between 12 and 30). Weve used them before for after work gathering and with the addition of their pub-fare it makes for a great place to unwind with coworkers and friends. I highly recommend them and we will be going there in the future.

FINALLY the place opens. After all the opening dates that got broken and false starts, you would think they were ready for anything. Sadly, that is not the case. When you go out, and you are drinking ONLY beer, you are going to get hungry. THAT IS A FACT! The fact that there is no kitchen is a big mistake and will be sorely missed. I find the bartenders juvenile and inexperienced. I will more than likely never set foot in there again...

Albeit it was a Monday, no reason to have such poor service. One star for the bartender being knowledgeable and friendly. Another for, of course, the beer, but it ends there. Wait staff was unfriendly and flat out lazy. And speaking of that, the manager/toad couldnt even bother to help me find the restroom. Might be good with a group and some music, but not worth risking. I can find better elsewhere...even in Raleigh.

World of Beer is just ok for me ... havent had a chance to taste any of the food options, but if you are looking for a wide range of beer ... well this place has it ... still havent found a favorite and unfortunately for me I always end up trying the ones that are way to hoppy or very IPAish ... which are down right disgusting ... but after a few, they all start to taste the same ... actually no they dont ....
