I have eaten Chinese Restaurant food from Houston, Las Vegas, LA, San Francisco, Hong Kong, NY, and Mainland China. I think by now I have some great knowledge in Chinese cooking. Baoding by far is one of the worse, extremely overprice, low quality, and poor tasting Chinese Restaurant food I have eaten. Even though we came hungry before we ate at Baoding, we still think the food there was awful. We order some egg roll, spring roll, hot and sour soup and steam shrimp dumpling as appetizer. The egg roll and spring roll was oozing grease all over the dish. The hot and sour soup was all ok but nothing ordinary. The dumplings were so mushy that the dumplings skin was breaking apart from the shrimp stuffing. As for the entree, we order the Special Flounder. The fish I order suppose to be crispy and (temperature)hot but it came out cold, salty and soggy. The Special Crispy seafood noodles with crab, shrimp, and scallop dish has zero crab in the dish at all. The waiter explains that they did not put the crab in the dish because the customers complain that Baoding uses imitation crab. (But why in the hell did the menu states that they have crab in the dish? If you cannot deliver the items on the menu then do not put them on the menu at all! ) The noodles were not even crispy but soggy. The Asian Beef I order was decent but too salty. It seems to me that who ever cooked the food did not bother to sample the salt levels before the dish left the kitchen. The décor, and color schemes were out of place, nothing matches what the theme of the restaurant. The only thing about good restaurant is that the service from the wait staffs. I would not go back to eat Braoding again nor recommend anyone to eat there. Save yourself some time and money- go else where! The level of food you get at Baoding makes Panda Express look good!

I cant believe some of the good reviews Im reading about this place, especially "the staff is always friendly" one. We found the food simply mediocre and one of the waiters was so rude and mean to my mom, that him alone is the reason why well never step a foot in here again. For starters, we had a group of 9 people, and half of our orders we received were completely wrong. Of course we didnt complain, because we were actually afraid of this waiter because he looked as if he wanted to kill us. Im not exaggerating, at all, because this waiter had serious issues. He didnt even want to acknowledge us, as if he was annoyed that there were 9 of us, as if it was a big deal or something. We couldnt believe of how mean he was to us, because we did absolutely NOTHING to provoke this type of behavior from him. We were very polite, respectful, and kind to the employees. He simply seemed to be having a bad day, in which he mustve took it out on us. The food didnt make up for it either, it was just very plain and didnt have much flavor at all. If anyone reading this had a better experience, then Im thankful that you didnt have to encounter what we did, but Ive never in my life had such a bad experience.

Well, we had dinner there last night and were absolutely thrilled. We were previous customers of JoJos Chinese Bistro for some years. It was our most favorite restaurant and we went there for most special occasions, even though it was about 50 mins from home. We were so disappointed when it closed and were aware the owners had another restaurant, but the menu didnt have Lemon Chicken so I guess in our disappointment we just never tried Baoding out. I had just been lamenting the lack of quality chinese cuisine and were looking for a new place to try this weekend when inspiration struck my husband and he suggested we go there. Weve tried many chinese food restaurants in the interim and none have resulted in return visits. The food was amazing (like we remembered from JoJos) and the service was excellent! Highly recommend the Tangerine Chicken, despite being marked as spicy, (I do not like highly spicy/hot) food if you dont eat the peppers, its not spicy at all. It was delectably crispy on the outside and moist and tender within. The food tastes so fresh and not pre-prepared. Frankly I cant say enough about the food. I cant wait to go back.

The decor at Baoding is just like that of its sister restaurant Jojo, a glamorous disguise for low quality food at high prices. Ive eaten at both restaurants several times and have not had a decent food experience yet. I would definitely say that the service at Baoding is much better than at Jojos, the waiters actually stop by to check on you and are very friendly. I just can NOT get past the food. The sauces are mostly oil, the meats and seafood are pretty much the cheapest cuts and types of each that can be found, and they try to mask all that with their "pretty decor." If you have a bogo coupon for this place, then sure give it a try, otherwise avoid.

Sometimes its the simple things... I eat here at lunch, and every time I go, I get the pork fried rice. Every Chinese place has this, so why get it here? It is made when you order it and you can taste the difference. The bean sprouts they include are something Ive not encountered anywhere else and they are a great addition to this classic dish. The only downside is that on busy days you cant make it a short lunch. Not enough to take a star away, especially since eating at the bar is fairly quick as well.

Ive ate here a few times. The food is pretty good, the service is always good, and the restaurant is nice and clean. If you were to compare, Id say the food at this place isnt as good as their sister location, Jo Jos China Bistro in Stonecrest, though it is good. Just like Jo Jos, this is more upscale Chinese style restaurant than the norm and its certainly worth trying. Ill certainly eat here again though it might not be my first choice --though perhaps is Southpark it might be for Chinese.

I love this place. Their customer service is exceptional compared to any other Chinese restaurant Ive been too. Food is always fresh and tastes wonderful. Prices are comparable especially for the amount and how good it tastes. Even if you order over the phone, the person on the other line is polite and understands you (you know how important that is). They also double check your orders to make sure its correct and that youre ok with the total $$. Overall, one of the best in town.

Worst Chinese food I have ever had. We asked for veggies in a light white sauce, and the sauce was pure grease.. was not edible. Chicken and broccoli, no flavor. Pork in Garlic sauce was the best of the three, but no sauce really and again VERY greasy and VERY expensive.. We had take out. I know the ambience is nice, cannot attest to the service, except our food was ready in 15 minutes.. which is good ...

To my knowledge, this long existing Charlotte restaurant is the only location in the region where Beijing Duck is served, and its worth a visit for that dish alone. But there are several other well prepared and seasoned dishes on their menu worth trying, including tangerine beef and Singapore noodles. Service is attentive, seating is comfortable, and prices are reasonable.
