See original, 5-star rating below. I have changed this to 2 stars because I sent them an email for my next order over a month in advance - didnt receive a response. Emailed them again a week later, still no response. 2.5 weeks after my second email I called them and then they finally responded via email. Took them another week to get back with me on a quote, which was higher than the last cake of the same size (actually this one was not as tall) and almost same decoration. Now I am a few days before my event with no cake order and will have a hard time placing a custom order with another bakery on this short of notice. Not sure what changed from my first order, but the customer service has been horrible and I will not be using them again or recommending. Such a shame because the first cake looked SO good and I was looking forward to ordering my cakes from here for several upcoming events. Old review: Ordered a last minute cake and it was BEAUTIFUL. Tasted great too. Will be ordering all my cakes with them in the future! I was able to simply email over my ideas and they fit my vision exactly.

Am based out of the US and had to send in a surprise birthday cake to a friend of mine and got in touch with Sugar Buzz in Cary, NC through Google. On contacting the bakery shop, I explained my situation and was not sure how they would want to handle it but I was so impressed with their ready to help attitude and was directed to speak to the owner - Laura and she was amazing. Laura said - Hey Dips, Let us handle this for you and like she said, she got the cake baked, decorated ,packed my cake with a card , filled in the sentiments i had mentioned and got this delivered within 24 hours in a perfectly coordinated timing. Next was the feedback on the cake - and I was so pleased to hear such good things about the cake. My friends have already decided to get the second order from Sugar Buzz. For me a product is very important , but the client service associated with the product is even more imperative and Sugar Buzz really scored high on this. I strongly recommend Sugar Buzz to all. I purchased a cake for my colleagues for their birthday which was a vanilla cake with buttercream frosting. Though we had some challenges because of inclement weather the day before but when we picked up the cake it tasted extremely old. The frosting tasted like is was made 3 weeks ago and the cake fell apart as soon as I cut into it. It cost $30 for an 8" round cake and I could have bought a better tasting one at Wal-Mart for 1/3 of the cost. When I called to talk with the manager I actually spoke to the owner and all she said was sorry. Even when I told her that I have 3/4 of the cake left because no one will eat it, she didnt even offer to make another one or give me a credit to try it again. Nothing. This place was very disappointing because I was looking forward to tasting the cake after reading all the good reviews.

I have Celiac Disease and I have to tell you that this is the BEST Gluten Free Bakery that I have found! They have Gluten-Free Fridays! I brought my sweets from there and have to tell you that my friends took a bite of mine and were like, "I want that instead", they could not tell at all that it was Gluten-Free. You can tell they use quality ingredients. The staff were helpful and the baked goods all looked so delicious, I wanted a bite out of each and every item. My other friend decided on the other baked goods with gluten and she said it was amazing! All in All, this will now be my ONLY Bakery! It you want the BEST, then you need to go to Sugar Buzz!

I turned to Sugar Buzz when I needed to bring a cake to a function and didnt want to settle for the same dry, tasteless supermarket cake. They most definitely delivered. My chocolate cake was moist, rich and actually tasted like chocolate. Sure, this cake wont be as cheap as a supermarket cake, but it actually tastes like the thing it claims to be! The buttercream frosting was decadent and had a satisfying texture, without being too "crunchy." My cake was ready when promised and was exactly as ordered...with an added creative touch that was just perfect. I would return to Sugar Buzz without hesitation any time I need a cake in the Cary area.

Laura and her team did a PHENOMENAL job on my husbands birthday cake. I pulled a sports-themed idea from the internet and it was elaborate. With a quick turnaround time, they matched it perfectly and tailored it to my directions to the letter! Everyone was in awe and my husband LOVED it! Not only that, Id heard fondant usually tasted terrible so I told her I wanted to make it look like fondant but I wanted butter cream frosting because I wanted it to taste great. They did just that. Incredible!! It tasted fabulous and looked smooth like fondant. Im glad I trusted them with this 50th birthday party. Thanks so much for making it memorable!!

I required a cake for a last-minute event, and Sugar Buzz was able to cater to my needs and prepare the cake in less than a week. The manager/owner spoke to me personally on the phone about my preferences before she referred me to her decorators. The design was expertly done. The cake was received with many "Wows," "Oh Goodnesses," and "Delciouses." Everybody queued to have a photo with the cake, and when it was finally cut, the beauty was quickly forgotten as the cake was devoured. It was delightfully decadent, and the ecstatic look on chocolate-smeared faces was a sight to behold.

I recently ordered a gluten free carrot cake to pick up on a Monday. Let me say, it was delicious. My friends here at work also loved it and stated they couldnt tell a difference. I bought it for a friend for her birthday who is recently been eating gluten free due to some issues. I was diagnosed with Celiac about 11 years ago, so this is a great thing for me!!! I have also tried the gluten free peanut butter cookie and gluten free raspberry cheesecake, They were all delicious!! thank you Sugar Buzz Bakery!! :)

I had difficulty finding a bakery that would actually execute my simple request for a Lemon Pound Cake w/ Blueberry Compote Filling and finished w/ a ButterCream Frosting, and Laura, Owner of Sugar Buzz Bakery & Cafe, GLADLY accepted the challenge and made my family the most Wonderful Cake! Thank you, Laura, it truly was AWESOME!!!! My first experience at Sugar Buzz was great, and I would gladly recommend it to everyone! It has a great atmosphere, it is reasonably priced, and the cake was simply delicious!

We got a 2 tiered cake and 10 dozen mini cupcakes for our wedding reception and everything was delicious! We asked for 3 different flavored cupcakes and the bakery was very accommodating. We did 3 because we enjoyed so many of the samples we had tried and wanted our guests to have that same pleasure!! And the price for everything was MUCH cheaper than the cost of a traditional wedding cake-very reasonable. Our guests loved and so did we! Thank you!
