After wandering around this part of town, my husband and I finally settled on this restaurant for an early dinner. We ordered fried spring roll and pan-fried pork wontons as appetizers. The spring roll was good and came with duck sauce and horseradish sauce for dipping. Im a sucker for any kind of a spring roll/egg roll though. The pork wonton was okay, but honestly tasted like the kind I buy from Trader Joes. For our entrees, I had the Asheville Noodle bowl, and my husband had the Mongolian Beef. It was rainy all weekend so the broth bowl was really nice, but the flavors were mild, almost a little bland. I definitely recommend adding the chili sauce if you want some spice. My husbands meal was good, but I kind of second the frozen peas and corn in the dish. The sauce was really good, and I found myself eating off his plate a few times during the meal. Overall, the meal was okay. The bathrooms are oddly placed next to the wash sink for the wait staff. The overall vibe is kind of hole in the wall restaurant without the nice surprise of finding out that the food is delicious. Its okay. Doubt Id go here again when we come back to Asheville.

I bought a shrimp and chicken noodles carry-out from the Noodle House on 3 SW Pack Sq. on Monday Night, the day after the end of Bele Chere. Cost was $12.50 plus a $4 tip. I have eaten noodles there so when I got home, we knew we had been ripped off. It was like they had foisted off on us a bowl of Ramen with vegetable soup with baby shrimp and a few giblets of chicken added. Matter of fact I could tell by the vegetables in that awful mess that they came out of a can. The carrots were tiny little squares about the size of peas. Gackkkkk! We were very angry for getting cheated like this. I have eaten their noodles when they were good. Buyer beware! 5 Aug 2010 Last night the Noodle Shop replaced the bad bowl of noodles with a good one. We got Pad Thai and it was delicious. I felt bad about writing the original review because until we received the bad bowl of noodles I had planned to write a review preferring The Noodle Shop on Pack Square to Doc Cheys, which is also a delightful restaurant for delicious noodles. Last nights noodles restored my faith in the Pack Square eatery. And I wish the fuss had never occurred.

I believe the Chief misses and matches the names of some very famous Chinese dishes. Or maybe he is making jokes on them. Otherwise I couldnt understand how come I ordered a hot spicy noodle but I got a cold sweet one. I thought I couldve enjoyed such a non-traditional type of Chinese foods , or maybe how it could be delicious disregarding its wrong naming fashion. I was wrong. I was so wrong. I was so badly wrong. Hey, Id try to appreciate your teasing and making fun on Chinese foods. But please at latest make them tasty and graceful. Well, I forgot to mention that the wretresses are hot and their service were super slow. The location of this restaurant was impressive. I hope I can say something good here but sorry no more.

We were pleasantly surprised by the quality and taste of the food, it was excellent! We sometimes avoid restaurants that are in such a great locale, afraid that they serve a "captured audience" and wouldnt necessarily need good food to stay in business. It was very cold and were walking to a different place. We decided to try it just because we didnt want to wander any further. Best decision!! We will be back. Wait staff couldnt have been nicer or more attentive. We tried: Fried dumplings (app), Mongolian Beef and a Hot Pot....Yummmm

Very small. Very effective. Love this place and the staff is excellent. Ryan, Suzie and Austin are top notch and hard workers. We always get generous portions of their Hot and Sour soup which is unlike any other soup I have yet to try at an asian food restaurant. Amazing wood fungus goes great with their chili oil. All of their soups are on point and the prices are even better than you would expect. Great casual dining experiences with an Asheville twist on Chinese Takeout. Dont miss out on this place for lunch or dinner!!!

I will never ever go there again. Poor people who want to give them a try like I did. 1) horrible food and low quality of ingredients. 2) understaffed, forgetting to bring you the napkin? Having to ask them constantly for a spoon, chop sticks and whatever else you might use to eat. 3) just dont go. Go to the place next door that sell noodles and it is awesome. I gave them both a try and the noodle shop has no comparison to the other. "Better earned than sorry." And dont look at the pictures on Google, they are misleading.

We had high expectations I guess, having heard about this place for a while. I ordered Noodles with vegetables and shrimp. The vegetables, I swear to you, were the peas and carrots you get chopped and frozen for .69 cents at Ingles in the freezer department. I know this because Ive bought them once to make a chicken dish. They tasted exactly the same. I guess I expected something a little more than a bag of frozen peas and carrots.

DONT BELIEVE ANY GOOD REVIEW! This place used to be one of my favorite places in Asheville and a real gem when I lived there. After having been gone for many years I especially went there due to the good memories I had and build up the place for my dinner guest. The food was BLAND, OVERLY PRICED AND PRETENTIOUS. The owner is still the same. The food was nothing more than an insult and I made it a point to write this review.

Its a very small place so its kinda tight, but that means the waiters are always there when you need anything. The food was amazing and the service was great. The food was served almost immediately. We got the spring roll, hot and sour soup, teriyaki chicken, and stir fry chicken noodles. The teriyaki entree didnt was enough chicken, however. The stir fry came with plenty. So I guess it just depends on your chef

Stopped in on a Saturday night when we couldnt get in anywhere else. Got the pot stickers as an appetizer (good but not great). Wife got a noodle bowl (excellent) and I got Mongolian beef (good though might be a bit salty for others). Overall we enjoyed it and the staff was super kind to us and our infant on a cold night. Cant say how much it means to have people be considerate of people out with a small child!

This is one of the most original, fresh, and delicious Asian restaurants Ive been to in my life. There are incredible, unique dishes here. This is not typical mafia/mall style Chinese, so expect a different menu and flavor. This place is an excellent option for vegetarians. Diverse plates, their tofu is cooked perfectly, and they have alternate veggie proteins like TVP.
