I will never eat at this restaurant again. My family and I ate at the buffett and the food had no taste. It was overpriced and the service was okay... I wouldnt say rude but... fair I guess. Then I had the nerve to eat their food once again at the Taste of Tri-Cities and the food was aweful. After that I said...never again! The reason why I am writing this review is because I am curently online looking for a good Chinese restaurant and decided to give my humble opinion. Oh, and I heard that the KPT local paper rated this restaurant the best chinese restaurant in town... haha... thats a joke the paper was tipped off I am convinced! Go elsewhere trust me!

This was hands down THE worst Asian restaurant weve ever had the displeasure to dine in. The Hot & Sour soup was SWEET! The owners wife said that they dont like to put any Chinese flavorings into the foods because the customers dont like it. Omg, its supposed to have Asian flavors! There was one weird flavor that ran through the dishes I took one bite each of, & it was NOT at all pleasant. Trying the Coconut Chicken was a horrible experience, as if tasting suntan lotion. The owners wife also told us that all of her customers needed to get used to that food because they wont change just to please them. Awful place!!! Never going back!!!

Good food and friendly staff! I have eaten here for many years and I have never had anything bad. My mother and stepfather ate here often until he had major health problems. He was released from the hospital a couple of weeks ago to go to rehab for physical therapy. He wanted something to eat from there and my mother went and picked him up some takeout. The owner, after asking where he was because he was always with her wouldnt let my mother pay for his food. She told her no that we have to take care of him. This is the atmosphere of this restaurant. Great people and always make you feel welcome.

The food at this place was very bland and although all the dishes had familiar names, they did not for the most part taste like one would suspect. I would overall call the food quite bad. The food looked to have been sitting in the bins for quite a long time, very much picked over, and the staff did not seem to have any interest in refilling them. To add insult to injury, as we were finishing up our meal, the staff brought out fresh cooked food and a hot plate full of steaming rice and started eating. It really drove home the point that the food on the buffet was not something worth eating.

My husband and I ate at Ming Garden today and it was our first and last visit. Let me say first that the staff was pleasant and the restaurant was clean, but the only thing that was actually good was the soft-serve ice cream. All of the chicken dishes I sampled were overcooked and so stringy they were hard to eat. My husband complained that some of his meat tasted spoiled. Even the cookies on the dessert buffet tasted old and stale. We eat out often and have been to many Chinese buffets over the years, but this was by far the worst Chinese food weve had. Dont waste your money!

I went there today with my husband and daughter. It was our first and last visit to this restaurant. The waitress was very sweet but the food was pretty bad. The sweet and sour chicken was really good but everything else was awful. The teriyaki beef was tough and did not taste like teriyaki at all, the kung pao chicken was dry and hard to chew, and several other things left a bad taste in my mouth. I was very disappointed because I heard good things about this place and was hoping to find a decent buffet. That did not happen today and we will probably never go back.

Been coming here for many years and what always amazes me is its the same staff. That really impresses me. Says a lot about the character of the owners. Its been months since I was able to eat here but my server knew exactly what I wanted to drink before I even mentioned it. Guess Ive been there a bit to much over the years. Lol Im always pleased with the food. Never have I received bad food or great service. Its also so refreshing when the owner actually is walking the floor talking to customers. Kudos. Wish I could give another star.

My friends I like going to Ming Garden when we want a quick, inexpensive place to get a lot of Chinese food. The servers there are friendly, quick, and non-obtrusive. There is the Mongolian Grill where you can choose from a wide variety of vegetables and meats to have it freshly cooked within minutes. There is also the wide variety of other types of food at the buffet that is readily available for you.

I used to be a huge fan of this place. Now, there is very limited selection readily available. The past 3 times I have been, I have had to request items to be prepared because majority of the buffet was empty. I just cant justify going there a 4th time in hopes that the buffet is back to what it used to be. Now, I go to China Wok Buffet in Kingsport or the two buffets in Johnson City.

Where can I start. This is quite possibly the BEST Chinese food I have EVER tasted. The fact that for $15 dollars you can get access to a whole buffet that isnt terrible, a Mongolian grill where the chef makes everything right in front of you is a win win for me. Everything on the buffet is so tender, Ive not once ate something that didnt make my mouth water.

The building is nice and the restaurant is clean. The prices are in line with other buffets in the area. The food is warm and usually fresh, but it is extremely bland. Im not sure why, but it has less flavor than every other Chinese food restaurant in the area. Ive gone here 3 times over the last 5 years each time hoping it gets better. It does not....

My family has been going to Ming Garden for approximately 14 yrs. This is still our very favorite place to eat. We love the Buffet and especially the Mongolian Grill. The owners are super friendly, the waiters very courteous and friendly, the cooks are very friendly and everyone always ready to serve. Great for family or by yourself. I encourage you to go.

I ate there yesterday with a friend. Pros: Friendly service; Mongolian grill is fresh, well-stocked, and the most orderly with a good selection of all the grills Ive ever tried; different takes on popular Asian buffet staples. Cons: If you dont go during the lunch or supper rushes, then much of the food on the buffet is dried out or sparse.

Was extremely sparse in food options, chicken was dry, egg rolls undercooked, and the soup looked like it had sat out all day with a film of grease covering the surface. Paid $27.60 for two people and it was really not worth it. Go to the Hibachi Grill in Johnson City, its better and cheaper. (Btw even the fortune cookies were stale)

The Mongolian Grill is where its at. Ive been coming here since my early teens. Very friendly staff with excellent service. The buffet food is, well, buffet food. Its still above average compared to most other places in town. BUT if you want the real deal get the Mongolian Grill. Hands down the best there is.
