The Jackson Underground is a solid choice for a working lunch. They deliver downtown, have a variety of hearty sandwiches, and offer a frequent eater card. You can even order from your phone. The online ordering system warns you that your "ASAP" order will take 45 minutes, but Jacksons usually delivers in about 25. As far as content goes, I wish their hoagie rolls were a little bit higher quality, but Ive never gone wrong with their rye bread. Theyve got all varieties of sandwiches, subs, and wraps available, along with various salads and side items. Most of their sandwiches are in the $7-$9 range, with sides costing a couple of bucks extra.

One of the best little sandwich shops downtown. I wasnt sure what to expect since the cafe is literally underground. The staff greeted me warmly as soon as I entered the cafe and I decided on a chicken salad sandwich. The lovely young lady who took my order happened to be the owner and was quite attentive and jovial considering how busy the restaurant was. Im planning on heading back this Thursday to check out their meatball parm sandwich, which is supposed to be awesome!

As a former employee, I can honestly say that these guys are some of the most genuine, kindhearted people Ive had the privilege of working with. They truly care about the customer and will do anything to accommodate any requests and concerns. Elizabeth, the owner, is a very hardworking and driven individual who treats customers just like they were her own family. I am definitely going to miss the wholesome vibe of this place when I move.

I order here several times a week - usually a BLT on Rye or the Ceasar Wrap - both are very good - Delivers usually happen in about 25 minutes, even though the ordering system tells you 45 minutes. Great local place, great sandwiches - if you try them on a day they do the Spinach Artichoke Grilled Cheese - HIGHLY recommended!

Jacksons Underground Cafe is phenomenal. I had their chicken and dumplings soup. It was so good I ate it in the car on the way home. Their staff is really friendly and everyone goes the extra mile. I highly recommend eating lunch there...anytime.

Small little underground cafe in the basement of the historic Jackson building in downtown Asheville. The sandwiches are fairly basic but have plenty of meat and the price is reasonable. I would visit here again.
