My fiance and I unfortunately went to the Apollo Flame on Brevard Rd. We were seated and shortly after a table behind us was seated with five people, one of which was an elderly woman in a wheel chair. Our waiter who was quite nice delivered our food and at that same time the elderly lady behind us spilled her beverage. The waiter rushed to get napkins (which were cloth) to try and quickly get the spill up along with several other waitstaff. Well imagine our surprise when the owner or manager came over and stated to yell at the waitstaff for using the napkins, and told them to get a mop instead. He proceeded to yell at how stupid they were. Forget the food which is nothing to talk about anyway. When we left the lady at the register made excuses for him and said hes Greek and they are very hot tempered. No excuse. We wanted to speak to him but he ran to the back, this is why I dont know if it was a manager or owner. That poor staff! I have never seen anyone more unprofessional. Avoid this retaurant if you dont want to see employee abuse!

Where to begin.........One of the most disqusting meals I have ever had. The only thing that was remotely good was the Greek Dressing(Served in a Carona Bottle I might add). I barely ate anything, same for my date. The only positve aspect was the service, and the dog and pony show from the owner/manager. They know that their food is horrible, but clever marketing is the only thing that they have on their side. Nothing was made from scratch, or with love for that matter. Pre-fabricated pasta with bland and uninspired sauces. I pondered why so many people raved about this place before my visit. Then I reminded myself THAT ANYONE CAN WRITE A REVIEW(get it, it has to be contrived). We are a generation of individuals raised on Hot-Pockets and CiCi s Pizza. If you want heaping mounds of diqusting pasta, Im fairly certain that they have a few locations. Enjoy. HORRIBLE

Absolutely spectacular food and wait staff. The food is very authentic tasting, especially the pizza. My wife is Italian and stated that the pizza recipe tasted almost identical to the one her father made. Granted its a greek restaurant but still, old world is old world. You will not go wrong choosing this place if you are hungry for some pizza or some greek ethnic.

Wow. This was amazing food and super generous portions and super quick service! They brought us overflow plates witht the meal bc they figured wed need them since there was so much food on the plate! It was delicious!! The tadziki sauce - probably the best Ive ever had and I just went to the Greek fest yesterday too. Id def go back to this restaurant!

Everything was awesome!! My first visit here the owner and manager came over to my table to check on my experience. Pizza is the best Ive had ever!! No wonder they were rated the best Greek restaurant in Asheville for the past 18 years. Highly recommend you come visit and sit beside the waterfall or enjoy the patio. Kudos!!!

The food is delicious, portions are huge, service is excellent. Expect to be served your food faster than you can say "lets eat," and expect to pay under $10 and have leftovers. In my book that equals 5 stars. I would eat here every day if I could...oh and theyve been around since 1974 so they must be doing something right.

The BEST restaurant in Asheville. Great family atmosphere, quality ingredients, and fast service with a smile. Apollo has always been family owned and it shows it in the quality of the food. I have gone there 2x in one trip to Asheville, and will be back many more.

Bland food probably due to low quality ingredients. Im normally a huge fan of sauteed mushrooms and green peppers, however, these were not too tasty, and cheapened the pasta rather than enhancing it. Our service was rather off too. It was only okay.

Ive had better. They are fast and friendly. Big portions. But Greek dressing is not great and the t-sauce amounts to more of sour cream than flavor. Salad portion was huge. For the gyro not a lot of lamb compared to the Greek festival experience.

Good Food if they can get your takeout order correct. The last 2 times we have ordered food to go it was WRONG!!! Not sure why such a great tasting restaurant cant hire help who can READ and FOLLOW directions. Sonya - Hendersonville NC

This is one of my go-to lunch spots. This Apollo is very fast and makes terrific food. I almost always get their Greek salad with grilled chicken. You wont be disappointed. Call in orders are easy and accurate!

I grew up loving Apollo Flame because of their authentic Italian dishes and huge portions. I love their chicken parmigan and any pasta dish as well. It is so much more than it appears from the exterior.

The dishes were incredibly bland, most likely making use of prepackaged sauces and canned ingredients. The service was good, but the food was horrendous. Large quantities are no substitute for quality.

Staff is snobby and unwilling to substitute ANYTHING, even for an extra charge. Limited menu with high prices. Little variety in the menu. Why does this place win "best of" every year?
