Because I love Creole food, I was so looking forward to dining at Creole Soul. I ordered typical Creole dishes; Jambalaya and red beans and rice. I declined the Banana Pudding due the extremely small portion and hefty price tag. I was so disappointed in the food. I had to hunt for the meat in the Jambalaya. The small pieces of chicken and even smaller pieces of sausage were the saddest experience I have ever had. There was no shrimp in this dish. How does one make Jambalaya without shrimp, chicken and sausage? The red beans and rice had no creole seasoning or any other seasonings. The dish had fire, but that was it. I recommended Creole Soul to friends and they had the same response after eating there. The food had no typical Creole seasonings and the portions were very small. So, I hope that as time goes on, it will get better. On my limited income, eating out is indeed a luxury so, I really need to get the best meal at the best price.

My family and I was here on a business conference from Long Island. Googled places to eat. When I say a Wow!!!!!!!! factor of flavor Im not exaggerating! Wish we had this cafe on long island. The owner came out an spoke to us. You can tell he was very proud of his food and his establishment (as he should be). Beautiful ambiance, friendly & patient service. Being from the Caribbean we know flavor, but this southern flavor was a force to be reckoned with. Go and enjoy!!!!

Me and a group of friends ate at here yesterday and I was a little disappointed because I have heard great reviews unfortunately the experience was not great. We visited from out of town and the food was bland. Some of our items were cold and they did not give us everything. My friend was almost done eating by the time the rest of her order arrived. I will give them another chance the next time I am in Syracuse but my first eperience was not a good one

My new favorite lunch location. Last week I had the Shrimp Po Boy ... this week Shrimp Jambalaya! The food is fresh, delicious, and flavor-full! Looking through the menu, it looks like there will be some time before I get bored of their menu! Staff is extremely nice and appreciative of your business. Owner/chef greeted me and thanked me for my business - when was the last time workers/owners did that! Stop in - youll love it!

My BFF took me to her favorite spot "Creole Soul Cafe" and it has now become my favorite spot. The atmosphere was calm, relaxing, and very inviting. The service was outstanding and the food . . . exceeded my expectations. I will (and am) definitely spreading the word. I took my husband their on Sunday but its closed on Sundays. Will be scheduling another visit on my date night (Friday). Way to go Creole!!!

I am very critical of restaurants, and rarely satisfied....Creole Soul is by far the best experience I have had dining out in years. The food is original, inventive, and delicious. I have yet to try something and not like it. They have a welcome atmosphere, reasonable prices, and the food speaks for itself....highly recommended. try the fish, and the German chocolate cake !!!

I was in town for work and i couldnt find any hometown soul food l, so i Googled soul food near me. Several places came up and half of them were closed down when i went there. The one i did find was so so and i decided to try this place and i am glad i did. The foid is amazing and the owner is the coolest person Ive met in my 3 week stay in Syracuse.

I drove a friend to pick up food there last night n we were mortified. He wanted soul food. This was first restaurant that came up when I googled it. While he was craving corn bread he got 2 pieces that were as small as a chicken nugget n we could not believe it. Also, thinking he would have nice portions with his food very disappointed!!

Went to the Downtown location. Owners were so nice, and welcoming. Food was so good.. This place is now added to my regular locally owned stops for sure. Great menu! The shrimp chowder was the bomb! Cornbread... Out of this world.. You can tell these people love the food they are cooking.

First time eating here DISAPPOINTED! The fries were cold, bland and Im thinking maybe microwaved because they were not done at all. The Mac & cheese bland, nothing but butter. A huge portion of the bowl was filled with butter when finishing. Too pricey for the quality of food you serve.

Stopped in to grab lunch to go with a co-worker today. The cajun vodka swamp sauce with the chicken and sausage was super tasty! The staff was very friendly and greeted us with smiles and a warm welcome. I will definitely be eating there again.

Too expensive for the quality of the food, the food and the vegetables are not fresh. I ask if something in my meal was spicy and I was told no, but the beans were spicy. The customer service was good. I wouldnt recommend the place.

Ate here while in town visiting my sister, food was okay, Mac and Cheese was disappointing, nothing special here. And dont get me started on the ordeal of using the bathrooms while eating here... Just hold it until you get home.

I love the look of this little restaurant, and I really enjoyed the white beans and rice. It was spicy but not too spicy, and there was plenty of shrimp. I ordered the small and it was more than enough for a satisfying lunch.
